Welcome to the forums Mr. Wobbles! I'm thinking you might be able to export the contents of the Access DB into maybe a comma-delimited format, then using a script, import it into MySQL. Of course, that might be a little bit more than what you want to get into.

While I haven't done this, I'm sure someone will be along with an answer shortly. (I'm curious too! This looks like something I'll file away in my "To Remember" folder!)

I'm sure our Linux guru's will chime in, but basically all that one would need to know is what type of files to use to upgrade whatever Linux version you decide on. People often experiment with different versions to see what they like...kinda like web browsers.

I do both! For the security aspect of things, it's one of the facts of Internet life that I realize I have to live with!

It is for security purposes...to keep yours and everyone else's data on the shared server as secure as it can be. It is much harder for password cracking programs to guess some arbitrary name and password than a logical one. And believe it or not, there are some people who don't have a life and spend all day doing just that!

What Bob says is very true. Although nothing, I'm afraid, will stop spam completely, it will help cut down on the amount. I'm getting spam email sent to my "test" domain...and I don't even have any email accounts set up there! Such is life on the Internet!

It's kinda late tonight, but I was thinking of looking for info on a CPanel forum or FAQ. (I'm sure they gotta have something like that available for users.) Maybe someone else can research this for us. If not, I'll look into it tomorrow. Oh...and welcome to the forums fenn!
