  1. Welcome to the forums!
  2. But don't you have to authenticate first? You can set my email program to check your mail, but if you don't enter the username/pwd, it won't download anything and you'll get an authentication error.
  3. Welcome to the forums! Loads ok for me too!
  4. Welcome to the forums! Glad you got it working.
  5. Frontpage is very good for beginners to learn web site development, but to REALLY understand what's going on, you have to take a peek "under the hood". Use the HTML tab in Frontpage to see what's happening.
  6. Welcome to the forums!
  7. IMHO, it's a personal preference. I prefer to use an FTP client...it's easier for me. You might or might not like it. There are several out there that you can download and use to see if you like it or not.
  8. Submit a ticket with the help desk (link above), provice them as much info as you can, (put unknown for username), and they'll help you get straightened out.
  9. Chargable? Nope...absolutely free!
  10. Not to sound negative, but if you want to do this, I would recommend you take your computer in and have it professionally done. If you don't want to bring it somewhere, make sure you know exactly what you are doing as playing with anything in the registry is not for the timid.
  11. Welcome to the forums Sheila! The response would be the same...open a help desk ticket (link above) and have the techs check it out for you.
  12. I would recommend you make sure it works (in order): IE, FireFox, Opera. If it looks very similar in these three, then there should be any problems with anything else. Note that I said similar. As has been said in other threads, there will be some differences in browsers until all conform to the same type of standard.
  13. Thanks Thomas! /*back to drawing board again!
  14. Welcome to the forums!
  15. I would think that some of the basic information you're asking for has already had several scripts written. Try checking the usual script sites and see what they have.
  16. Welcome to the forums. I personally haven't heard of anything like that, but that's not to say that a ready-made script doesn't exsist. Have you tried looking at script sites like hotscripts.com?
  17. Just want to confirm...when you say the computer "freezes up completely", that means you cannot perform any ctrl-x or alt-x key combo, correct?
  18. Have you checked at hotscripts.com?
  19. Welcome to the forums! While I'm not a script expert by any means, it looks to me like something might be set up incorrectly on the Infolanka site.
  20. Sorry about the lack of reply...I've had a very busy week that doesn't seem to want to end! Anyway, you might want to drop a ticket with the help desk and have them take a look at the resource use on your server. I'd also offer them a bit of an explaination about what information you're wanting to see so they can work with you.
  21. Welcome to the forums! Ditto! (I couldn't resist! )
  22. I'd second Bruce's suggestion. Personally, if it is MY site, I'm under the mindset of "open source". If I'm designing for a client, I'll look at both pay and open source software. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, as well as people for and against. So check each one out and do your homework/research. After all, that's the fun part about designing...seeing what works and what don't! (For me anyway!)
  23. Steve: Thanks for the props. The "no response...of a few seconds" could also be due to routing issues and not necessarily server-related. Glad to hear you found a new home.
  24. Welcome to the forums sirius!
  25. Ouch! Thanks for the heads up Rob. (Now off to tweak site...)
