  1. which left the young bass fisherman without a way to buy his new boat.
  2. The old adage "You get what you pay for" I've found is certainly true in the web hosting business. That's what lead me to TCH. Very competative pricing, but the main reason was the rock-solid performance and support. I think you'll have a hard time finding a company that will beat this one!
  3. bad
  4. It started as an idea by a young bass fisherman who needed extra money to buy a big bass boat.
  5. (Oh let's have some fun!) ...web hosting company...
  6. Just goes to show you how the easiest solution is usually the simplest! Way to go David for the suggestion!
  7. I was able to watch a game in Chicago with my father when the US hosted the World Cup. My brother-in-law had two tickets and he didn't want to go, so I drove up. I wish I would be able to go! (Been to Germany before while still in the military.) Good beer and good football...great combination!
  8. clock
  9. Same here...If I have to take some time off, I WILL watch the final LIVE!
  10. I'm just happy that here in the US, they are going to show all the games on cable channels that are available in nearly all hotel rooms, so I'll be able to catch many of the matches. (Unlike the NHL (ice hockey)...I'm missing a number of games because the NHL decided to go with a relatively unknown cable network.) Now if I can just find a Holland jersey...
  11. I would second the "...for Dummies" books. They are quite good and will help you retain their content. The biggest thing is when learning is to take baby steps. You have to learn how to crawl then walk before you can run marathons. As Bruce said, we've all been there before, so feel free to ask away. And when you ask questions, be as specific as you can so that people can point you in the right direction. Hang in there...you'll get it! We all did!
  12. scammers
  13. Submit a ticket to the help desk and the tech's will hook you right up.
  14. Since many other family members can see the site with no problem, I don't believe it's your hosting company (TCH). I'd vote with the block too. And where are my manners? Welcome to the forums!
  15. I'll have to go with Holland. They look very strong and are starting in a relatively easy group. Any of you Brit's wanna stick up from England? Hopefully the US will make it out of the first round.
  16. If you don't want to pay, you can search around and find some pretty good graphics programs for free. And the only stupid question is the one that's not asked! You've got a whole family here to bounce questions off of!
  17. Well, they would, but in the web hosting business, you get what you pay for. I'm sure many others will chime in, but speaking from experience, you will not find a host with better support and reliability than TCH. That is why I came here and I'm not leaving anytime soon. And as chatbug said, if you find you need more space, you can always upgrade. I think you'll find that the reliability of TCH will stack up quite well against nearly all competitors.
  18. Passed it on to my father. I got a phone call shortly thereafter with both him and my mother laughing hysterically!
  19. Welcome to the forums. You don't mention it, but you said you only downloaded a picture from the internet...have you loaded the picture onto your site? As Andy said, it's best if done that way to avoid bandwidth issues.
  20. Good...that's where I'd start my searches. As Bruce said, you may just have to download, install, and play with a few to see what works for you and what won't. Who knows...you might get lucky and find a good one right off!
  21. Welcome to the forums! As chatbug and TCH-JimE said, nowadays it doesn't matter as much where your site is physically hosted. As long as the hosting company is reliable, solid, and keep their systems up-to-date (read "TotalChoice Hosting"), you can expect many years of great service.
  22. Welcome to the forums! Have you looked at the different script sites (hotscripts.com, etc.)?
  23. Labyrinth "Sacrifice the virgin? I don't like the sounds of that." "Well, let's just hope they're not talking about you."
  24. I would second Joomla. The learning curve can be a bit steep, but once you reach the top, it's really easy. And like Jim said, there are a bunch of different things that you can integrate within it.
