  1. Sorry..........when I clicked "Post Topic", I got an error page, so I did not think it had posted! SORRY! Error page looks like this:
  2. Hi, All. I'm trying to venture into the world of installing, customizing and learning more about IPB. I'm a little concerned about the extent of my abilities, since I can't even find the install link in cpanel. I found the "Bulletin Board" under cgi-scripts and accidentally installed phpBB instead. Anyone willing to help me get started would be greatly appreciated.
  3. This file isn't normally a virus file. It is a file that runs with Windows XP Help and Support. Maybe the file is corrupt or something like that. I would suggest doing a search of the Microsoft Knowledge Base (even though I hate it)...or maybe start with a google search like, "Hlpsvc.exe file problem" or "Hlpsvc.exe cpu usage". Good luck!
  4. Thanks, Rob, but I don't think I can attach a file using that email icon, and it doesn't offer the email address. I figure I know what it is, but just want to make sure.
  5. Jack...I'm probably just being really stupid tonight...but I don't know your email address to forward it to. If you want to send me a PM...I'll email it to you sometime tomorrow. Probably in the evening as I'll be travelling all day tomorrow. I'm sure there is a way I could figure out your email...it's just past my bedtime!!!!
  6. Triple check the filename of your background image. It is case sensitive. Make sure it is in the correct directory, as well. I know these things are simple, but I've spent much time trying to solve simple problems!!! If you know those things are correct and the site is published, give us the domain and I bet someone could figure it out.
  7. ok...here's the WHOIS info on the domains...I checked two and got the same results: Once again...interpreting this is well over my head! Thanks...
  8. Thanks, Jack. I thought about your forum, but it was only a vague memory in my mind, and being at work, I did what I know best. I will look up the whois info. The script does work...I only disabled it because I was unsure of what was going on. Figured that would be the best way to stop whatever it might be until I could figure it out. Also...I did not turn the referrer check off that I know of. Thanks again!
  9. I'm thinking that it's a Frontpage thing????????
  10. I guess the IPs weren't all the same, but they seem to have originated from the same place. Here is a copy of my raw log file with the offending entries. Don't know if it would help anyone...but thought I'd provide it:
  11. I renamed the files, so they are currently disabled! I did verify that my form has required fields defined, and I do have email as a required field. So...if anyone has any ideas and needs more info...I'll be glad to provide it. I'm going to take a look at error logs!
  12. I have the php form mail script on my site, and have had for a while. Suddenly today, my email has 29 messages...all errors generated from this form. Mail delivery system errors say that the message couldn't be delivered because their was no recipient address. The message that I should get, with info. filled out on the form, has only the environment variables in it. And in those, it only gives the IP: 80.58.55.237 on all of them. Anybody have any ideas what is going on here? I'm still investigating, and am going to disable the form right now. But, this sort of problem is probably way over my head!!! Thanks!
  13. Thanks!!!
  14. I recently manually renewed my naturalimagesweb.com domain for another year. In the secureserver domain management, it does show this renewal. However, I received an email from secureserver informing me that my domain would expire this coming January because I had not chosen to "auto-renew". Should I be worried about anything? I'm just not sure why I received that email... Thanks!
  15. My two cents... If I had entered the contest with a simple caption (no graphics editing), and then found out that someone who went above and beyond a simple caption was chosen as the winner, I'd be upset at myself for not being more creative...or for not asking questions as to what was acceptable or not acceptable. This is a hosting company...not a contest company. That being said...there should be no expectations from customers as to how a contest was run or not run!!! We should all simply be thankful that such a wonderful hosting company has chosen to offer such a benefit! If you do something simply for what you can get out of it, then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. As to the contests, (whether I enter or not), I say, "Thanks, Bill and Staff, for giving me the opportunity to think outside the box, be outside the box and maybe learn a little something along the way!" Congrats to the winners!!!!!
  16. Thanks, much! I will give it a go today or tomorrow!!
  17. Dom, I would forget about the counter, as sometimes they can be counterproductive. If I visit your site and see 1000 visitors, then visit it again the next week and see 1002 visitors, I am not going to be impressed. Awstats is available thru your Cpanel and will tell you how many hits you've had and tons more!!! Glad I could help with your problem...Happy Thanksgiving!
  18. Thanks All! I will probably give it a try since I am not low on diskspace. I didn't really think it would be an issue, but I knew there would be some solid advice out there!!
  19. In the code of your file "indexframe", try making the following changes: ><body marginwidth="75" to ><body marginwidth="10" This does not address the problem mentioned by Kevin...but I don't think what he mentioned was what you were seeing. I played with your site, previewing in IE6 and Mozilla. I previewed with first settings, and frame was pushed too far to the right. When I made the change and previewed with Mozilla...it was ok. Hopefully that will help. You should look into what Kevin mentioned though! Frames aren't the best way to go. I understand why you used them, and I don't have an alternative for you, but I'm sure somebody out there could come up with one!! Good luck!
  20. Ditto to Virtual Imager!! My USAF Reserve Unit has 15 members of the medical squadron in Iraq...I wish them well!
  21. Ok...this is probably a really silly question, but here goes anyway! I'm wondering how it affects computer performance to add more browsers. I'll give a few particulars: Compaq Presario x1000 laptop 40GB HD (30.4 GB free) 512 RAM 1400MHz processor Always running ZoneAlarm, AVG Virus Protection, PestPatrol, phpdev4.2.3 Frequent software in use: Adobe 6.0 Dreamweaver MX Fireworks MX I have Mozilla and IE, but would like to try Firebird. I just don't want to bog my computer down. I runs nice and snappy right now...and I'd like to keep it that way! Thanks for any advice.
  22. Is there a way to change the root folder when using phpdev as a home testing server? I know how to change it in my html editor (DW MX)...but it doesn't work just changing it there. I'm assuming something in php.ini would need to be changed or something with Apache settings????? Thanks!
  23. Yes...Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This year has helped me see that I rarely take time out of a day to be thankful for all that is a part of my life. You see...I work at a hospital. We are always surrounded by sick and dieing people, most of whom I don't really know. Last week, one of the ladies that works with me at the hospital collapsed with heart failure. I say "works" because I'm sure that her spirit will remain in our hospital for the many patients who loved her. She was one of the kindest, gentlest souls that I've ever known. On that same day, the 8 year old grandson of a nurse that used to work for our hospital went to the doctor with a tummy-ache. By Monday he was dead with the flu. Yesterday...the husband of another coworker was called and given news of a death in his family. It's been a tough Thanksgiving in this little town I've called home for over 3 years. These families will continue to be in my heart. Thankfulness will also stay with me throughout this holiday season and into many more. Thankfulness for such things as my grandmother who is still alive and kicking, my parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins that are mostly all healthy and living life as they choose, my dog who is now a 103 lb loveable beast, my partner who brings joy to every day of my life, my health, my freedom...these things and many more bless me...and I am thankful. Oh...we can't forget to mention great and wonderful website hosting!!!!! Now...I thank you all for giving me a place to express such thanks. I wish everyone out there a beautiful day...every day!!!
  24. Jack...I'll stretching the bounds of my knowledge here, but I'll throw this out there. Maybe I'll learn more! I'm doing a site for an organization that said they use "Secure FTP". They said that the paid version of WS-FTP supports it, or I would have to download SSH. That's the extent of what I know...thought it might apply, though.
  25. One more thing I forgot about...when I got the settings to work for previewing through phpDev, the Live Data View in DWMX would not/will not work. I really don't care, though. I would rather have the full preview capabilities that Dreamweaver's attempt at it.
