  1. Ok...here's mine. I haven't been around much lately, but couldn't resist the contest. After all...it's the only thing that has motivated me to clean the area in several months!!!!!!!!! My two helpers are, Peppy (the Chihuahua) and Stryder (the Rottie).
  2. I got an email regarding this....but I'm not aware of having phpBB installed on any of my sites. Maybe I should submit a help desk ticket to find out for sure???
  3. Unfortunately, I've had to use the help desk system this morning! I must say it was sweet not having to put in the ticket number and all that. It just logs you right in to your ticket...no effort required on your part! Nice upgrade...Thanks!!
  4. Hi, All. I saw last night about all the server27 problems and want to thank the staff for doing such an awesome job getting it all put back together within 10 hours or so! I was contacted by a client while on my way home from work. When I got home, it took me like 2 minutes to check the forums and have an answer for my client as to what was going on! By the time I called him, he was already able to open his site! SO...thank you very much for this forum and the hard work you put in to make TCH the best!!! Tracy
  5. Awesome...will do. Hopefully within the next 2 months it will be available! You can listen to some clips on His Site. However, the clips were put on before the final recording of the songs. He said the clips are almost embarrasing compared to his final recording recording. But...check 'em out if you like!!! ...don't critique the homepage to hard. Layout of content needs a lot of work. Not to mention updating.
  6. Hey, Rob! I can always count on you to make me look at something just a little differently and smile!!! Number 1 has been my favorite all along. But, it's good to be able to tell him what people think! He's new at this and only 22 yrs old! I will be sure and pass along the thoughts about the blinds!!!
  7. Thanks for all the input and comments! I will pass along the info. to Gatlin, as he will be the one making the final decision! Thanks again!
  8. Good point Boxturt. Gatlin is a very traditional country musician. He currently does gigs in the local area performing mostly cover tunes. His is heavily influenced by singers like George Strait, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Lee. This first album will have original songs on it with a very traditional sound. Some are upbeat and fun, while there are a few that are more mellow. I'll edit this into the poll to hopefully help anyone else make a better vote!
  9. Hey, Thomas! If I have a site that sells boats, then I would want to link to sites that offer other boating resources...not other sites that sell boats. Make sense? Like...places to dock boats, or places that sell accessories for boats that my site doesn't sell, or boating communities...stuff like that. Just my 02 cents, anyway.
  10. No tellin'...thanks for letting me know!! It showed up for me on preview and original post, but then when I cleared my cache, it went away! Computers...
  11. is it fixed now? I re-uploaded it.
  12. Did it not show for you, Thomas? It's right beneath photo 1 for me...??? Anyone else having trouble?

  14. Yeah...I figured that would be the only way to do it. But, I really have not mastered css absolute positioning with all the browsers yet. I'm still waiting to hear back from the client...we'll see what they want. Thanks again! I think the W3's standard on opacity inheritance needs to be tweaked a little to allow breaking the inheritance with a "none" value like you can do with other things. But...who am I to say???!!!
  15. Thanks for thinking about it, Raul. If I come up with a solution, I'll post it.
  16. Thanks for looking into it, Raul. I have tried your first idea and it doesn't work. Tried 2, 9, 10, 100...nothin'! The workaround for IE is to set style="position: relative". No clue why!!! Thanks again!
  17. Here's a problem I've been working with all morning. Not sure there is a fix, though. I've searched Google and read tons of stuff to no avail. I'm using CSS opacity to make a table cell background transparent. I then nest a table inside that table cell, and put text into the newly nested table. Well, the text in the new table inherits the opacity value. But I don't want the text to be transparent like the background. I want it to have full color. Here is the code: CSS >#headRight { background-image: url(images/headerRightBG.gif); background-repeat: repeat-x; background-position: right bottom; filter:alpha(opacity=50); -moz-opacity:0.5; opacity: 0.5; } #smallNavLinks { font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Arial; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; color: #003366; text-decoration: none; filter:alpha(opacity=100); -moz-opacity:1.0; opacity: 1.0; } HTML ><td height="77px" align="right" valign="bottom" id="headRight"> <table width="310" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="position: relative"> <tr> <td width="46" align="center"> <a id="smallNavLinks" href="http://www.harmonymedical.co.uk">HOME</a></td> The opacity rules in #smallNavLinks set the opacity according to that of the parent element. Therefore, 100% = 50%, since the parent element has an opacity of 50%. There is a workaround for this in IE, but I can't fix it in Mozilla. If anyone has any ideas...??? I hope I explained it properly. It's not an easy problem to put words to! Thanks,
  18. One worthy note if you decide to use includes for all of the "header" code for your pages...don't include the keywords, metatags and other such stuff like that unless you want them to be the same for all the pages. I learned this by doing it the wrong way first...maybe it will save you from doing the same!
  19. Hi, Brian. I could definitely be wrong here...but I think mouseover effects in CSS might be limited to the a:link, hover, visited and active classes. I'm sure someone will be along to tell you if I'm wrong. You could use Javascript for image rollovers, though. And since your site is coded in PHP, you could maybe make use of the include function to put it in all your pages?? Or, if you use an editor like Dreamweaver, you could actually use the find and replace tool to put the code into those 300 pages. Just some ideas...someone will likely show up with more info. for you.
  20. Looks like you've gotten plenty of opinions, but thought I'd throw mine in there. I agree that for editing photos, whether simple edits or complex, PS beats FW hands down. However, the vector capabilities of Fireworks makes it good for a lot of web design aspects. I work back and forth between the two programs. But most of my web design related objects I do in Fireworks MX. It's not a bad program...I think if you have the opportunity to give it a try, you should.
  21. Nice one...I'll definitely make use of this living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area!!
  22. You could also consider simply banning those IP addresses that you don't want hotlinking to your site. That may be more drastic than you want, though!
  23. That's what I thought...but I wasn't sure. Their help files have nothing concerning the vorbis audio format, though!! I've put the files on using .mp3 format for now! If anyone reads this who has dialup...it'd be great to know exactly how slow it is for you! Music Page Here
  24. Ok..I've gotten a slow start on this, but it's a start nonetheless! I've run into some problems though. 1. I downloaded Audacity, but can't for the life of me figure out how to make it open/import the files I have. I've tried on both .cda files and .wma. Do I have to use another program to convert the files before Audacity can work with them? 2. I also downloaded the trial of Adobe Audition...nice program!! I assume, after messing with it a little bit, that I cannot convert to an .ogg file using Audition???? 3. I did a little research on Vorbis. Listened to the files. Downloaded winamp. Now my big question is, how do I turn a .cda file into a .ogg file? I downloaded the Vorbis Tools, but don't know what to do with them!!! Thanks!
  25. Thomas...I looked at the source code of the pages in question, and I can't find anything that I would suspect. My coppermine source code looks a bit different from yours I believe. Maybe the problem is in a coppermine stylesheet?? It looks like maybe a padding or margin problem, but I sure can't find it. Sorry...maybe someone else will be able to help more.
