After following the instructions...it doesn't work. So...here's the scoop. I have 4 drives on computer to include the following: 1. Hard drive 2. Floppy disk drive (3 1/2) 3. CD/RW (older one...won't read RWs anymore, but does everything else) 4. CD/RW (new) I didn't mess with the hard drive or floppy. I disconnected old CD/RW...disconnected jumpers (hope that's the right word for the wide grey cables)...reconnected new jumper to motherboard...connected middle slot of jumper to old CD/RW and set as slave...connected end of jumper to new CD/RW and set as master. Upon reboot, the computer found the new CD/RW, but when I put the disk in to load software, it just sits there. When I go to explore and click on that drive...it does not read the CD, it just sits there. When I look in the Device Manager, it says the drive is good to go. Computer is no longer finding the old CD/RW. Both drives do have power!! I'm not a hardware geek yet, so please bless me with some knowledge...THANKS!

Mike...I don't know if you can tell what's used on another site or not, but I post a lot of my photos to WEBAPERTURE and it seems that it would have the features you're looking for. They restrict size and file type...and I would imagine their images go into subfolders.

Wangs8...if I'm not mistaken, the "Links from an internal page" on your Awstats report is telling you how many times your pages have been accessed from within your own site. For example, if I go to your one of your site pages, and then follow a link to another one of your pages, that click would count as a "Link from an internal page". Anyone else out there, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... As for body text...that is one of the most important features of your site getting good pagerank and indexing. You should have good text on all of your pages. Use the keywords specific for each page. For example, on my site I have a photo gallery of animals and a gallery of landscapes. Those pages have different keywords, description and text for the respective topics. Look up some of the "Search Engine Optimization" topics in the forum to read more. Also, HERE IS A GREAT ARTICLE on search engine optimization!

OK...I'm am not a php expert, and this sounds very rudimentary, but shouldn't you be able to write some php code to turn error reporting on or off?

Krieser...thanks for trying!! I miss-stated my browser version...it's version 1.5 with 5.0 engine! Maybe someone else out there is using the same and can replicate the problem. I guess I just won't worry about it for now. It does not happen in IE, which is what most use, so I'm ok there. Thanks again for your time!!!

...I wouldn't even know where to begin to do that. I'm lucky to serve the little php that I serve!!

I'm using Mozilla 5.0. The Reseller's Support page HERE is the page that loads wrong for me, then loads correctly upon refresh! Maybe there is something wrong with my Mozilla?????

Could this have anything to do with my little problem? I am using relative positioning inside a table cell. I don't know...that part of it seems to work. Seems like there is something else in the page causing it. ...UPDATE...the answer to above question is no. I removed all the tables that contained the caption and the pages still refresh differently than they load to begin with. It's like it's not seeing something, and then all of a sudden it does... Come to think of it...one of the TCH pages I visited did this, in a sense. It would completely load and all the text would be out of wack, then I hit refresh and it loaded correctly...hmmm...I'll see if I can't find that page!

I don't know that this will help, but I've noticed something in my continuous work on this. When the page loads incorrectly, and then I hit the refresh button...everything from the white tiger pic on left hand side shifts down an amount equal to about one line break. I've studied and studied the code to no avail. All the images have height and width set. For the images on the left side, they are all separated by one set of <p> with 's in the <p> tags. Any help would be so wonderful!!!! I'm ready to pull my hair out!!
-
hmmm...let me research that for a bit. The link to one of about 8 pages that is doing this is in the top post. ...nope. Width and height are specified for the images...no image placeholders. no doubt about this one!! This would seem to make sense. But, if I leave a particular page that has loaded fine and then come back to it via links, it will do it again...even though the images are cached. I think we need an emoticon that scratches both sides of it's head...

...I knew that. At least, several hours ago I knew that!!! I don't know that it will help, but I'll certainly give it a try!!!

OK...I've made some changes and such to my site. Several people here have given me opinions and such and I've got the majority of the site under control again. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments! I'm having a problem in Mozilla 5.0, though. I created 1row tables to go under my rows of pics so that I could add captions and keep them centered. Pics are NOT in tables themselves. Then, I positioned the table using CSS, as it was too far down for my liking. Here's the css code: >.captionTable { top margin: 0px; position: relative; top: -17px; left: 0px; } The code works. But, RANDOMLY, when Mozilla loads one of these pages, the captions for the images will be too high up, placing the image in the background. Then if I hit refresh, it loads properly and the text is where it should be. Is there something about Mozilla that I'm unaware of in regards to CSS relative positioning? I'll go look on mozdev, but I thought someone here might know about this already. Here's one page... Thanks! Rock Sign

Yes, Vangrieg. The previous advice was helpful in giving me a better grasp on permissions and such!! I appreciate your time. Is the mod_expires very difficult to get a handle on? I too have a lot of images on one of my sites. I don't have to worry about my bandwidth right now, but I hope to someday!!! Thanks again!!
-
Vangrieg, Could I borrow somemore of your time today and ask you to fill me in on what the heck "mod_expires" is? How do you use it and for what purpose? Thanks!!!
-
Awesome. Thanks for all the help. I understand tons more now!
-
Thanks again. It's slowly sinking in. I asked a question earlier that got missed. I'm sure I'm wrong to come to the conclusion that since I've successfully imported and applied the new IPB skin that I can now change those selected permissions back to 644...but it makes sense to me that I should be able to do that. Any comments? Am I right or wrong?
-
Thanks, vangrieg. I'm sure I'll understand it all much better at some point. You mentioned the most important thing...keep important information guarded!! I guess as long as I understand that 777 means "not guarded" and 444 means "the only thing anyone can do is read this", I'll do alright!!

Thanks, Richard. This did the trick! Thumbs Up

Thanks, Lianna. I did search google and I found some helpful things. I just couldn't find one that would make that final connection in my clogged up little brain!!

You got that right! Mind if I use that as a quote sometimes in sigs and stuff??? I've gotten started on all the changes you suggested...will finish tomorrow. I have one question: On a scale of 1-10 of importance, good content being a 10...how important is the all caps thing? Also...there are several established sites out there that have had a link to my photography website for a year or more. Why don't those backlinks show up? For the longest, the TCH links didn't show up...now that's all that's there out of at least 8 sites...some specific to photography??? Very confusing!!! Thanks again for all your wonderful help!! I can already feel the changes taking place!

I have IE 6, Mozilla 5.0 and MozillaFirebird 0.7 on my computer. Using IE (which I'd rather not do), Flash movies come up and play fine. So, Flash IS installed on my machine. However, Mozilla and Firebird fail to find the player. Can anyone help me help Mozilla and Firebird???
