I believe this is one of the many reasons not to use spaces in URL's =/ The only thing that I can suggest is to find a javascript redirect and place it on the page with the space in it's name. Then when people hit that page it will redirect them. There is a simple one at CodeAve Hope that helps. =)

If you install it into the cgi directory it makes things a bit more secure, imo, because you can't look at files in there or get directory indexes natively; it can only *execute*. The static path thing is setting up one directory and changing one line in mt.cfg. It is easier to only dump stuff into one folder, though. Of course, less steps is easier.

Eh, changing themes shouldn't clear the fields... I'm not really sure on this. Have you double checked all permissions etc? Some of the themes don't touch the administration section only the public look, too....

You need to upload the themes folder to your theme directory, so that the administration panel can detect it. The best way to do this is via ftp. Does that help?

If you do it that way it won't work. mt.cfg should point to the real cgi-bin - probably www.domain.org/cgi-bin/mt/ If you use subdomain.domain.org then it would try to find it at /subdomain/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi. does that help?

%20 is the character encoding for a space; there's no way around that -it's the only way for browsers to read it. =)

I don't know how to do this with Frontpage; but ify ou login to your cpanel - click Web Protect, you can do it from there. =)

I use the Hivelogic Encoder. Works poifectly. =) The alternative is to use an email form that doesn't have the address in it. =)

The static webpath is actually misrepresented and should be a url.. http://www.******/mt-static/ that's how I had mine working, anyway. =)

Have you modified mt.cfg to point to your new domain as well as the paths in weblog config?

I love textpattern; it's clean, fast, easy to use. But it has a lot of workflow and features that are hardcoded and not easy to customize. With EE you can dig in and make the workflow do things that way you want to. It's also incredibly powerful and very fast. It has steeper learning curve and some things are only still now starting to click with me; but the more I use it the more impressed I am - and I haven't run into any walls like I did with txp. EE is definitely more of a *full* cms solution, at that. Great team behind it too. =)

I have no idea about scode; I thought it required shell access to install, hrm. I moved from textpattern to EE - as Mike said, I like toys *grins* I also like to use the system to manage *everything* so a CMS is more my style. There're are other issues I won't elude to in this thread so that I don't go too far astray of the topic. That error probably is why it's not working, but I can't help with it as the installation instructions managed to scare me when I was running MT.

I'm not sure how to fix flash, unfortunately. There are a lot of non-DOM based scripts that are IE only and lots of code as well. Cross-browser testing has got to be the absolute pits of web design *sighs* Not sure why your firefox is crashing though. That shouldn't happen. Did you change themes or anything, by any chance? Install extensions?

you have to scroll in the ugly little tiny frame in the right. If you can't find it click scripts, then php/mysql and scroll down in there. I checked before I linked, it's definitely still there. I can link to the zip if you need it?

I'm running expression engine and would like to allow it to utilize image magick; but it requires the path to it, most of the software I've run before either auto detected or guessed right; but can someone let me know the path please? =) Sankoo!

When I did this, I used Kudos Users Online - it is php and can show currently online, and online in the last x amount of time (I did 24 hours).

Try Thunderbird? My Outlook (Outlook 2003 on an XP machine) mysteriously quit talking to the pop3 servers ONLY for my main email address about 2 weeks ago. Rather than try to fix it, I dropped it since Thunderbird was running flawlessly. I think it would run on your box; but I'm not 100% sure.... Uh, sorry for not helping directly?
