  1. I would wait, but I was told by TCH-Dick above, specifically in regard to my server, "Please check now and let us know if you still have issues." I did update my ticket. Hoping some one can help with this soon. I fixed as many sites as I could myself, but some sites are customer sites that I didn't create, so I don't have the index.htm page for them to restore it myself.
  2. Several of my sites on montreal are just showing file listings. Looks like the index.html page was deleted, but not replaced. Sites that use index.php seem to be working. Should I update my ticket with the specific list of sites that are still affected? (I'd rather not post them here.)
  3. All of my sites on montreal still seem to be defaced.
  4. You can use Mailman to do what you want. There is an option toward the bottom of the Sender Filters page (under Privacy Options) that says "Action to take for postings from non-members for which no explicit action is defined." Just set this to Accept and all mail sent to the list address will be immediately delivered to the recipients. PK
  5. The easy answer is to just create an account filter in cpanel to delete any email with that subject line or with the words "Work at Home" in the From field. PK
  6. Have you tried looking for the invidivual movie files using Windows Explorer? They may be saved on the CD or in the Program Files folders somewhere that you can find them. It's possible they can be viewed using another program once you know what video format they are in. It's a long shot, but it may work. PK
  7. One of the sites I host was not working this morning, but I tracked down the problem and fixed it, so I thought I would share what I learned. If you have the following line in your .htaccess file, it is apparently not supported by Apache 2.2, and it must be removed for your site to load: SecFilterEngine Off This is a common .htaccess tweak that is required to fix FrontPage publishing issues, and is recommended in other TCH forum threads. I'm not sure what impact removing it will have on the ability to publish but at least the site is up again. I'm also not sure if this setting is used for anything else. Before upgrading any more sites to Apache 2.2, this probably needs to be investigated and users with this setting will need to be warned. PK
  8. Are you working on your site on your local hard drive or directly on the server? If you are working locally and then publish to the server, you can ignore the error message because it is referring to your local computer not being setup for email. Sometimes I've even seen this when working directly on the server, although the form usually still works to send email. Sometimes the FrontPage form control doesn't recognize that the server supports email sending. Using your yahoo address shouldn't be an issue. PK
  9. You may want to try uninstalling them and then reinstalling them. Sometimes they get pretty messed up, usually after a server move or a restore from backup or something similar. It sometimes messes things up on your site though to uninstall and reinstall FPSE - if you use FrontPage navigation tools or FrontPage folder permissions you may need to check/fix those after reinstalling FPSE... But at least you know the problem isn't anything you're doing wrong in FrontPage. PK
  10. If you type a web site address in the Folder field, FrontPage completely ignores the "Look in" drop-down field. It does NOT matter what you select from the drop-down. (That's why I didn't mention that in my instructions.) The problem seems to be with your site though. If you want to use FrontPage to manage the site, FrontPage Server Extensions need to be installed or re-installed from within cpanel. I tried this with your site using FrontPage from my computer to see if it prompted me for a username/password, and got the same error message as you did. If FPSE are correctly installed, FrontPage will immediately prompt for the cpanel username/password. PK
  11. You can use FrontPage to open sites from your local computer or from the web server using this same dialog box. The following instructions are for opening the site from the web server using FrontPage 2002 (and possibly earlier versions - I'm not certain). 1. Go to File -> Open Web. 2. In the Folder Name field, type the path to your site without the www (like http://yoursite.com). 3. Click Open. 4. Type your cpanel username and password when prompted. 5. Click OK. If you aren't prompted for a username and password, you are probably getting an error message. If you tell me what this error message says, I may be able to help you figure out what the problem is. BTW - If you want to copy your site to your local computer, you can open the site and then use FrontPage to publish the site to a folder on your hard drive. Then you'll use the Open Web dialog box to navigate to the local copy of your site in the future, and use Publish Web to publish changes back to the server. PK
  12. Are you getting an error message popping up or anything? I'll need some more information to try and understand what you're seeing. After you type the path to your web site, and click Open, what happens? PK
  13. Sorry, I was giving instructions for FrontPage 2003. Yes, in previous versions it was called "Open Web". Then type in the field at the bottom the path to your site without the www (i.e., http://yoursite.com). Then you should be prompted for the username/password you use to access cpanel. PK
  14. Are you trying to open your site from the server or from your local computer? If you want to open the site from the server, go to File -> Open Site. Then type your web site name without the www (i.e., http://yoursite.com). You should be prompted for your cpanel username and password. After you type your correct username and password, it should open the site with no trouble. If you aren't seeing anything, but didn't get an error message, go to View -> Folder List and make sure it is selected. It may be that you are successfully opening your site and just don't realize it because you aren't seeing the list of files/folders. PK
  15. Have you tried just opening the site in the newer version of FrontPage, by going to File -> Open Site? I don't think it's necessary to use the Import feature.
  16. I just print the right frame to PDF. I have the full-version of Adobe Acrobat, but there are a lot of free or inexpensive PDF writers out there now that do the same thing. PK
  17. In your case, I think the forwarders are a good solution, so I wouldn't bother deleting them and setting back up separate email accounts. I just wanted the thread to document that it is totally possible to check several accounts on the same TCH server without any issues, unless you are checking too frequently. However, since you said this only recently stopped working for you, I wonder if your server was recently moved to the TCH NOC. If so, maybe the new server/network has different security settings that are causing the problems. There are some legitimate reasons to have separate accounts instead of just forwarders. In my case, it's because I need to be able to send from many different email addresses. I check over 20 TCH accounts at once throughout the day and never have any issues, but my server has not yet been moved to the TCH NOC.
  18. It seems like you fixed your problem, but in case you or anyone else you comes across this thread is interested, I think the real issue wasn't that you were checking 11 addresses, but that your mail client was configured to check each of them every 1 minute. I check a lot of separate TCH email accounts on the same server myself without any problems, but I have my mail client configured to check them every 5 minutes instead. Checking more frequently than that can definitely cause problems. Also, as far as moving rules based on who they were sent to... I know in Outlook, you can create a rule to move messages based on the account that they were downloaded from, but that doesn't seem to be an option in Eudora. However, I think you can accomplish something very similar by creating a Eudora filter based on the "envelope-to" field in the header. The only difference is that field would show which of your 11 email addresses the message was actually sent to (as opposed to which of the 3 accounts where it ended up).
  19. I posted about this earlier this morning, but got no response, so I thought I'd try again... I don't understand how TCH has just decided to do these upgrades "ahead of schedule" all of a sudden. When you tell people an upgrade is going to occur on or after a specific day, you need to stick with that schedule. If you're ready to do the upgrade early, it really doesn't matter. Instead, I woke up Monday morning to find multiple servers where I host sites for clients had been updated overnight -- two days before the third phase was to even have begun. There was no notice about this whatsoever. This put me in an awkward situation with my clients who were expecting the upgrade to occur later in the week. The notification about the remaining upgrades tonight is something, but because it isn't a new thread, many people may not received the notification. It seems like TCH routinely underestimates the importance of communicating with customers. As a reseller, I have an obligation to my clients to notify them when their sites may be affected by server changes, but I'm not able to do this when TCH refuses to communicate adequately with its own customers. Fortunately, it doesn't seem any of my clients experienced any technical issues from the upgrade, but I did have to apologize to them all, and let them know to test their sites today, despite the fact that the upgrade was scheduled for later this week. This is very frustrating, and hurts my business. I really wish TCH would listen to input like this and take communication with users more seriously.
  20. I would like to know why server 315 and other servers scheduled for Phase III were upgraded overnight, days ahead of schedule. The next phase was not scheduled to begin until Wednesday, which is what I had told my clients to expect. Now I have to let them know to test their sites today because the upgrade was already done. This makes me look terribly unprofessional, and I'm very frustrated that TCH put me in this position. While I don't anticipate any issues, when you tell someone an upgrade will begin on Wednesday, then do it on Monday with no warning, it tends to upset people.
  21. It's the "allow next session" option that is causing your problem. In the future, clear this checkbox when burning DVDs and Final Burner will close the DVD after burning. This is most likely the reason that your other DVD is not readable.
  22. It's a good idea to always close DVDs after one session, instead of leaving them where you can add more. Otherwise, it can cause problems reading the DVDs later on, even if you close it after the second session. You *may* still be able to read your DVD or close it using Final Burner, since that's what you created it with.
  23. Isobuster is software that may be able to recover data off your problem DVDs. But it sounds like the reason you have had trouble burning DVDs successfully is that you are not finalizing/closing the DVDs when you burn them. Windows can usually read unfinalized CD-R's, but unfinalized DVD's are a problem. Nero is a good program for burning, at least version 6 is (that's what I use). You just have to close the disc so that it is readable on all computers. Hope that helps!
  24. I would like to clarify the dates for this phased roll-out. I have servers in all three groups, so I want to make sure I am prepared for each date by researching my affected scripts and testing them immediately after the upgrade. Phase 1 - "We will begin a limited roll out of the new versions on the weekend of 11/13/2007." ** 11/13/07 is a Tuesday, not a weekend, so when will this first phase be occuring? Phase 2 - "We will begin our second roll out one week later. The following servers will be upgraded starting at 12:01am on 11/21/2007" ** This is the Wednesday right before Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel days of the year. Could you do this another time when people would be more available to test and correct their scripts? Phase 3 - "Finally, we will complete the roll out on 11/28/2007 ( again starting at 12:01am) by upgrading the following servers" ** I just want to confirm this is scheduled for Wednesday, 11/28. Also, I just want to thank you for making sure the news about this change got out to your customers by posting it to multiple forums and sending it out to the entire customer mailing list. This communication has been extremely helpful, and is greatly appreciated.
  25. Actually, as TCH-Andy stated, the problem was that the user had an auto-reply setup for the email account, making it behave as a real account. I have this filering setup with over 20 domains and I *never* get spam sent to non-existent accounts, even under cpanel 11. I even tested it this afternoon to confirm. If no account, forwarder, or auto-responder exists for a specific address, and the default account is set to :fail:, any email sent to it will bounce. I just thought people should know that this is possible.
