I have a second site I am seriously considering bringing here. It's current host is using Zeus. The site is mostly archives and I have about 30,000 links that point back to home.html which uses SSI. I know I can rename home.html to home.shtml and do a permanent redirect through Cpanel - Redirect permanent /subdomain/home.html http://my_domain.com/subdomain/home.shtml But I also discovered I could put AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .html in my .htaccess file and that works equally as well. Or does it?? Which method is more efficient and/or causes less server stress? Thanks, Ty

Which "formmail"? If it's the Matt Wright one it is full of security holes and is a favorite of hacks and spammers. Many hosting companies do not even allow the script on thier servers. Check your log files sometime, there will always be evidence of people looking to find the script so they may exploit it.

Thank you very much And I owe you an apology, i told you sort of backwards - try this: Set up the .ram file as I instructed. Be sure it is the ONLY line in the file and that you save it as .ram. and make your link - This line should point to the .ram file you just made and that file should open up the actual media file. I hope I got it right that time, been a while since I've had to do this. Choir is it? Can't wait to hear! (I'm on my way to choir rehearsal now as a matter of fact)

Type the following as plain text (don't click on this): http://209.51.142.186/~YourDomain(eg:~boxt...rt)/YourFile.rm and save it as a .ram file and code your link to point to that .ram file. I think there are a couple ways to do this as Real Media has a couple different extensions depending on audio or visual but hopefully this points you in the right direction

I have both (original) streaming mp3 and Real Player files on my site so I know that at least those are supported. Knowing how well rounded and plentiful the features are here I'm sure many formats are supported

Nice find Mitch. I especially like the list all email links. All mine are ASCII coded and I know I missed updating a few when I moved here. Thanks.

Perl counters are very easy to install in your cgi-bin. You will find a good selection at The Perl Archive

I have the same problem on server 17 and I did (just now) open a ticket. My mail has always stayed on server after forwarding since begining, I figured that's just the way it worked. Fortunately it's no major issue for me.

That worked - the 3rd time. Very, very odd. Thank you. I'm still curious as to why it wouldn't work through admin though. BTW - there's a very nice Brel song with your name - but I bet you knew that!

Thanks. Each content page needs a snippet of script for the submenus to load into conent frame, or for the menu to work at all. I tried that last night and tried <a href="java script:history.go(-1)">back</a> this morning after seeing your post but I keep getting the following: My permissions are set at 755. Is that not correct?

Hi, I'm using the advanced guestbook on my site. Because I'm using frames the guestbook falls out of navigation. How do I (or can I) add a 'back-button' to the guestbook page? Thanks.

Feed The Children Ronald McDonald House Though I really have no preferences. They are all worthy of our attentions and I think your idea here is a wonderful one. ty

Terrific idea, thanks. (I wouldn't have ever thought of that) ty

I have done exactly that. I thank you both for your time and suggestions. ty

Ok, thanks. I have the address ('addy') part figured for me@mysub.**** but I'm very confused about this Default Address thing. "Redirect Unrouted Mail'? Wouldn't unrouted email just bounce? Or is that exactly what :fail: and :blackhole: are for? I Do like the idea of junk stuff spiraling away into a powerful vortex though. Slower Than The Average Turt, Ty

Greetings. I apologize in advance for the following questions but I'm just not understanding very well. 1) When I set up a subdomain, say guitar.boxturt.com - is my corresponding email addy supposed to be guitar@boxturt.com or somebody@guitar.boxturt.com ? I'm begining to think the latter. 2) I did see instructions for setting default email address as well but I'm afraid I don't quite grasp that either. I imagine once I understand question #1 I'll get this one. Thanks in advance. .....just a wee bit embarassed, Boxturt

I do a couple of things similar to all the previously posted suggestions. Call me super paranoid This seems to work pretty well. Sometimes I just convert to ALL ascii, but I don't know how safe that is..... translates to my email addy. There is a good text to ascii converter here: dascii.exe
