  1. I stream both Real Audio and mp3 without a problem. Bandwidth can be an issue. Real Audio files are much smaller.
  2. Then we'd both be rich! One last (I hope) question : AwStats logs unique visitors from every index.html load or from any page on site? That would make sense and explain a lot. (except why I'm so broke )
  3. Yup, must be the short font that did it.. I have to think on this for a while. I can't insert the alpha index into every single page which is why I chose to use frames. I may be stuck with it the way it is but I'll mess with it. Moving affilliate links is not a problem, I may drop them all anyway - they have been fruitless. PayPal has been ok to us so that will stay. At least that gives us enough to pay for hosting and a cup of coffee. Thanks Very Much!
  4. Although not part of the issue I was having that's good to know. In the past I have always edited htaccess for error messages and I'm still getting used to a lot of functions here
  5. Thanks Jim. Gee, then how hard is it for them to each mail me a dollar???
  6. Continuing this thread....... AwStats is showing 48821 unique visitors for the month at my lyrics site. Same site got hit twice this month by Teleport and Acrobat "grabbers" and pinched about 34,000 pages total. As I understand it that would NOT influence the unique visitor count, is that correct?? My unique visitor counter on home page shows about 34,000 less than what AwStats is showing. (maybe that doesn't work?) -Ty
  7. Thanks! You're my new best friend I understand what you're saying here and it all makes sense to me except: I'm afraid that went right over my head....... Oh yea - I'm only 4 inches tall. Must be a turtle thing. By keeping the alpha index in the top frame I was saving the viewer an 'extra' annoying trip back to the home page, so it was more a convenience thing. If you would be so kind as to clarify? Does that mean the PayPal and other affiliate links as well?? Thank you very much. I will certainly use your expert advice and your valuable time is so much appreciated. Ty
  8. I will change to text link after posting. Category? Personal is just fine - it's just really a goof-off site and doesn't need reviewing or anything. The lyrics site is most important to me. Thanks, Ty
  9. Very nice indeed. Of course I have a little problem - 17,000 of them actually. I have 17,000+ pages. I do however have a script that can can do it for me, if I can remember where I put it Thanks Andy
  10. That would be sweeeeeeeet! Thank you very much kind sir ty
  11. Seemed to work then! So what you're saying is I would have kept getting (perpetually) the same junk files over and over? Wish I'd had that yesterday. Got nailed by Acrobat last night, I didn't even know they (Adobe) had one of those evil things but they do. -Ty
  12. Yes, I have looked - after reading your post (wasn't sure I was supposed to). The first 7 pages are all templates pages. Pages 8 - 30 are Access Denied content with my IP# in them but it did still deliver all 33 items. Anything specific I should look for?
  13. Not sure what it means but I used Teleport and pinched all 33 objects in just about 10 seconds. -ty

    Site Map

I just tried this on one of my smaller sites, works well http://www.exacttrend.com/eXactMapperL/index.html -ty After messing around with it I did discover that it doesn't care for frames or navigation using SSI pages
  15. I did add mine, a couple days ago. OF COURSE they have linkbacks to TCH, cuz as we all know...... TCH Rocks!! -Ty
  16. Thanks guys. Andy - tried yours - worked fine on your site. Rob - I didn't see your post till after I messed with mine some but no, I wasn't doing the custom page through Cpanel. I already had the page in public_html and put the appropriate line in the htaccess file : But it didn't work. So I pasted the page into the Cpanel template and it works just fine. I find that very odd but I sure won't complain Thanks, -Ty
  17. No, unfortunately it does not. It only shows the location of the error document itself. I also tried with DOCUMENT_NAME and DOCUMENT_URI and they produced a negative result as well. Thanks though Andy, I appreciate it. -Ty
  18. On one of my sites I am not using a custom 404 page so in the meanwhile I get the standard "Not Found" page. In MSIE I think that page is served by the browser itself (the less than 10k rule). In Netscape I'm not sure. Netscape also includes the name of the URL being sought. eg: Not Found The requested URL /ty.htm was not found on this server. My question: is there a way to show the url not found as part of the content of a 404 page? The answer is probably really obvious but I'm just not seeing it! Been looking and looking for related info but I can't find anything. Ok, stop laffing -Ty
  19. Very interesting. Makes my blood boil. Thanks for sharing the story.
  20. Hi Deb, Yes - it needs to be installed. Open the file amember.rtf. Those are all the instructions. It's rather long (so you may want to print it out) but is relatively easy and straight-forward to follow
  21. Ahh..... we are elated to have you elevated! Congrats Mitch
  22. I read through all sorts of baloney over at Yahoo and of course one can never find anything there. (sooo helpful there, yup) However I did find these 2 items which may help. http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/geo/gbilling...billing-27.html Here I found instructions on how to manipulate your billing and canceling options. I couldn't try it out for you as I have no account there. http://geocities.yahoo.com/v/help/help_form.html This is an email help form that deals specifically with cancellations and what-not. Hope this helps a little. -Ty
  23. Do you own your domain at geocities or is it part of their free service? -Ty
  24. Indeed it does but $100 more to spend on a hobby site? Me thinks Mrs. Turt may not concur -Ty
  25. I just downloaded the raw logs from one of my sites ( lyricsplayground.com ) and unpacked it. 68MB!! EEEEEEEEK - and it's only the 15th. Anyway, until now I had not figured out a way to deal with them effectively. So I tried The File Splitter which broke it down into 47 bite-size pieces that can be read with a text editor. Soooooooo much easier than anything else I've tried. If I should have posted this under 'Freebees' I apologize. -Ty
