Any password protection is only as secure as the password you are using. At the verry least if you use a combination of letters and numbers you will keep the average user from guessing. I use it and have never had an issue.

Dont forget, if it is a .com or . net there is a 35 day redemption put out by the registry. This gives the initial owner a chance to get it back, at a steep price though. If you are able to back order on this system it means no others have backordered from the registrar TCH is using. It does not mean no other registrar has somebody backordering it. The registrar TCH uses checks the registry at 10 am and 10 pm, the exact time the registry updates. As soon as the backorder system sees an update it will let you know via email that a change was made and if that change involves the domain being deleted from the registry and put out to the public it will immediately try and register it for you. The system works well. I have seen a 97% success rate. Good luck.

If your domain expires you have up to 45 days before the regisrtar ( where it is registered at this time ) lets it go. If it is a .com ot .net then NetSol puts it in a redemption period for 30 days and then within 5 days after that the domain is up for grabs by the general public if a broker doesnt get it. You can Backorder Any name, Any time -- $18.95 from TCH as well to give yourself the edge.

imad, I think I need clarification too. Not that I am making use of any subdomains at the moment. To me and are one in the same. It reads to me that as long as you arent selling space and no other domain name is pointing to that subdomain you are 5 x 5 and shouldnt be in any violation.

I have to agree with rayners. I love FreeBSD. I was able to set it up first try in less time than it took to install windows. Surefire, I know you are smart enough to follow directions. Give it a go, you will be happy you did if for nothing more than to say you were able to do it and I think you will be happy with the end result.
