This is changing. Search engines are also realizing the popularity of dynamic content sites with ? marks in the URL's. I have even had pages in the big one with those. Static looks better and is easier to remember and for now easier on the search engines, it wont matter for long.

Doesn't your scanner and its software support OCR? I would scan as text then either convert to PDF Raul's way or convert to HTML and get a free e-Book maker off the web and create them that way. No images mean small file size.

That is the tough part with shared hosting. How does one differentiate between tom@****** and tom@theotherdomain.com on the same server. You "might" be able to get around this on a dedicated server all to yourself but I cant be sure in that regard.
