  1. I have gone to the author of the script, and he asked for the server logs. As I am unfamiliar with that, I wanted to check with TCH to see what kind of security risks there are. I have down loaded the raw access logs (I assume that is what he was referring to), but have no Idea how to read them to see what kind of information I am passing on.
  2. Thanks! Ill give that a try.
  3. I have. I entered www.jensenconnection.com/photos and got nothing.
  4. OK, I have set up a site for my family to upload photos to. Everyone but one brother uses windows which has the handy dandy XP_publish.php file. No problems there. I ran across http://www.zzamboni.org/copperexport/ which will allow mac users to upload their photos to via IPhoto. I passed the link on to my brother and we haven't had any luck. I have updated Coppermine to 1.43 He is using IPhoto 5.0 We are pointing the upload address to the www.jensenconnection.com/photos/xp_publish.php, but we are getting a 406 error (we have also tried www.jensenconnection.com/photos/xp_publish.php?cmd=publish but is says to go to the base url). If there are any kind hearted Mac users out there, I would love all of the help you have. By the Power of Grey Skull! Help me out.
  5. I cant seem to get it to stay logged in though.
  6. Google has a new toolbar in beta. You can right click on most any search box (like that on TCH forums) and it will add to the toolbar with the favicon on it. It also allows things like portable bookmarks. http://www.google.com/tools/toolbar/T4/index.html Fun stuff! Now if I want to search the forums, I just need to type it in in my Google toolbar and hit the TCH button.
  7. Thanks guys. The first think I did when I deleted it was take out the card and replace it so that I dont overwrite anything. I have downloaded Tomowas suggestion and it shows files that can be recovered, but wont do it until I pay for the program. I decided to hold off to see if I can find a free one first, but I will most likely end up paying for it as it looks like a good program. borfast, thanks for your additions, ive given google a search, but most end up being like tomowas, where you have to pay to get them recovered. ill keep looking a bit before I actually pay for a program. thanks for your help.
  8. ~Save a fellow TCH family member~ After uploading pictures to my website, I deleted them off of my compact flash card. I didn't realize that I was working directly off of the card as I always move them to my hard drive first. I guess I didn't do that this time. As you know when you delete off of a image card the files don't go to the Recycle bin. Right now I am faced with a dilemma; I can either 1) recover them, or 2) tell my wife that I lost them, and face mortal peril. I prefer number 1 (I did upload most of the good ones, but they were re-sized to a more web friendly size. I would much prefer to recover them via an image recovery program) Any Ideas for a good program to do that? (while you think of it, I think my personal well being is worth a program that I have to pay for, but my wife might not)
  9. Ok, Sorry if this is taking us off of the thunderbird topic (and sorry if I am a little thick), but tell me about the bat. What am I missing out on? I have read a bit, but I guess I am not understanding what the benefits are. I see that it cuts down on spam. Is it just super good at it or something?
  10. I hadn't heard of THE BAT before, so I went to their site to find out about it. I went to their "reviews" section. I thought it was funny that their first review advertised from their site gave it a 2 out of 5.
  11. No rave reviews huh? I guess Ill wait a while to see what happens with Adobe as well
  12. Just curious to see if anyone is using the newest version of Dreamweaver (8). Is it worth the $ for the newest version? I am currently using MX (version 6). any input will be richly rewarded with fine jewels and precious stones. (and the most helpful person will receive 1,000,000 Dollhairs)
  13. Guys. we all know that no one in society is held accountable for their actions unless they are a corporation with money.
  14. I have the same question about a jpg of my daughters headstone that some kid on a social networking site is using as her avatar. I understand that once you put something on the web, you cant control how it is used. I just hate seeing the stats for that file being so abnormally large. I'm not too overly sensitive about it (otherwise it wouldn't be on the web), I just hate the feeling of how irreverent it is.
  15. One thing that I didn't understand until I got as frustrated as it seems you are, is that billing isn't a 24/7 department. last weekend I kept trying to get a hold of billing thinking that it was no different than normal tech support, and I didn't get a response until Monday morning. I know this doesn't help you, but I feel managing expectations is the best way to go. I would imagine that is why you haven't gotten a response to your billing department ticket today.

  21. Fantastico is a third party installation script that goes into CPanel. With just a few clicks photo galleries, and blogs can be installed. I was curious as to if anyone knows of a reason why TCH doesn't have this (not to imply that they should). I wonder if it is just messy to have, cost prohibitive, or maybe insecure. thanks
  22. I went and got a 1gig cruzer micro to replace my 512, but my wife thought it was cute and took it. Happy Wife, Happy Life
  23. too cool!

  25. Help me understand security with this type of thing. This file has username and passwords. Where does it need to be put for security? If it is placed in the public_html folder will it be viewable by anyone? Is it more secure outside the public_html folder? can someone Brose to it and view the source?
