You are a gentleman and a scholar. Perhaps I should take the time to read the instructions given to me in the first place. ... nah!
-
I use bloglines to check a lot of the sites for news.

Just to clarify, is it always best to use Passive, or only if you are having problems?

Ive WANTED to keep my phone number as stated above, but it has taken some time. I have friends who are very happy with vonage so I have stuck in there. I have noticed that prices for overseas packages seem to be with Broadvoice than with Vonage. For 5 bucks less ($20), you can call a lot of countries with no additional cost. For about the same price as vonage you can get even more countries. You might look in and see what package has the Philippines. If its good enough for Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, its gotta be good... right? ...RIGHT? anywho. Check them out too.

I am currently waiting for vonage to switch my phone number. I've been waiting for 8 months. I give them a call every month to get them to reverse my bill. My existing phone company has had no record of any request by vonage to "port" my number. I guess Vonage is using a third party to do that, and that is where the problem lies. If I don't get it this month I'm giving another carrier a try. Broadvoice seems like it is a decent competitor.

www.x3watch.com This was a program suggested by Kim Komando. It doesnt block anything, It just is used for accountability. Its free. It tells you if there were any questionable sites visited, or if it was turned off.

No problems for me either.

I was showing my wife how to make a page, but it is coming out completely different in IE than it is in Firefox (..I know, I know... Big suprise). I dont understand what the problem is. The link is here. When ever I put in the graphic in the top cell, the bottom left cell takes up a lot of the page when it is only supposed to take a little. Ive looked at it on two different computers, but cant figure it out. Its not too different than what I had done before, but... help.

I am trying to think of something funny to do with one of my websites that bears the name captainmacho... The only thing is I cant think of anything. I'd love some Ideas. If you had a super power what would you want it to be?

Sorry, but your nerd license has been revoked! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL Whats this world coming to?

If you are in the market for your first GPS, let me HIGHLY recommend the Garmin eTrex Legend. http://tinyurl.com/6ouyz It has (in my opinion) the best feature set for the price; You'll be really glad that it is pre-loaded with basemaps. It's only a little bit more than other GPS units, but the basemap feature is really cool, and 8MB of memory is perfect for the beginning geocacher. Geocaching is a fantastic family activity! I highly recommend it!! -Paul <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just picked that very model up last night on the way home from work. $138.82. Since my last post Ive ran into three other people who go Geocaching frequently. Now I can be a computer nerd who gets out from behind the computer and in the fresh air. My friend has a 3 year old who absolutely loves it. I bet mine will too.

I guess I could be misunderstanding what you are looking to do, but this is how I would use a link in an unordered list

I Love A Cop, by Dr. Ellen Kirschman

Way Cool! After reading this I was talking to a friend who does it. We just up and left work for about an hour or so and went and found a couple. Im going to buy a GPS unit tonight. (I'm not even going to ask my wife). As for my hobbies away from computers, I like to paintball and golf.

Yup, I am aware of how to keep my nose clean there. Thanks!

Thanks! This is exactly the type of info I was looking for!

What type of stores? Are we talking a walmart, or something like a craft store?

Does anyone know where I might find a collection of graphics for a website? For example; Financial websites- (People looking at financial statements, a picture of a calculator, Retirees skipping down some tropic beach, etc, etc.) Can you get something like that from a stock photographer for free? Where do professional web developers go to get their graphics?

I am currently using CaRP to add news feeds to my site. Does anyone know of a better way to add daily news? I've messed around a little bit and have come up with something, but would like a better option. I cant configure CaRP as easily as I want. BTW- free is good.

Ok Ive been messing around with a better navigation solution. I couldn't figure out how to do the Pipe thing with Dreamweaver, so I tried just making a pipe every other list item. Anyone have any thoughts as to if the top nav is closer to what it should look like?
-
Oops, I take it all back. I went and changed the "/" for real this time and it does work like it should. Thanks for your help
-
I changed the trailing "/" and nothing. Any other ideas? I will look into the cleaner nav suggestion you gave. THanks

I have a domain (Rachndave.com) with another domain parked with it (MyJensen.com). All of my links go to MyJensen.com except for the "funny" link. When you click the link to go to the funny page, it takes you to rachndave.com /funny, not MyJensen.com/funny. What gives? The link is to "/funny" Just like the photos link is to "/photos". one keeps you on myjensen.com and the other takes you to rachndave.com

..Why? Will they give me more space? Ok, Ok.. will do.

I was just messing around with Cpanel and noticed that my "Disk Space Available" said "Unlimited Meg". Not that I am complaining, but I would rather have "Infinity Meg". Im sure its not a mistake... Im SURE I won some sort of contest... right?

Multiple Users - Ftp Access, Etc.
wampthing replied to kjarrett's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
you can do that if you want them to use a subdomain of your site. I have my brothers set up similar to what you are describing. paul.jensenconnection.com greg.jensenconnection.com todd.jensenconnection.com etc etc. they all have their own ftp access that allows them to only see their own folder. all you have to do is go to manage FTP accounts- add FTP account create a user name and password- point to the directory that you want them to have access to. keep in mind that their username will be their "login"@ncs-nj.org
