How To Bounce Invalid E-mail Addresses?
MikeJ replied to voilsb's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Yes, that is correct. And annie is also correct about cPanel's stealth change recently to :fail:. -
Looks like trillian has patched their client already... http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/news_press/

http://news.com.com/2100-1032_3-5245821.html The IM games continue. Yahoo blocks 3rd party clients again "claiming" that it's to block spammers (yea, sure). Anyway, this is part of the reason I'm not on my Yahoo IM account much right now.

Politically Correct. Basically, speaking so as not to possibly offend anyone. Edit: D'oh! Dang you Rob! You're too fast for me.

I just meant that Google gets a little more "actively involved" in the contents of your email than your average email provider.

Just keep in mind gmail isn't exactly the most private email system in the world. If your cron jobs contain any sensitive information (such as account names and passwords or the like), having them sent to gmail may not be the wisest choice.

Couple of things... 1) MT is allowed here. We have no intentions of banning it either. Several users here use MT currently. 2) You own the domain. And as far as godaddy.com, unless they are listed as the registered owner, they do not own the domain, you do. Godaddy legally cannot do anything with the domain they want.

Make sure your php script has execute permissions set and make sure you have this as the very first line of your php script >#!/usr/local/bin/php Or you can enter the cron entry like this: >/usr/local/bin/php /home/mycpanelname/cronjobs/flush_jobs.php

Poll - What Email Program Do You Use?
MikeJ replied to dlevens's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I primarily read mail on my OS X notebook, so it's Mailsmith as my primary mail reader (all my personal accounts) and I swear by it. I use Mail.app for my day job just to keep them separate (so i don't accidently send work related email from a personal account). Both retrieve email via secure POP3. I use Mutt whenever I need to read email from a unix shell. -
It's fixed now. It was just a permissions problem.
-
Most likely it just tried to spider it since it's linked from your guestbook mainpage.

The file structure for the subdomain creations is dictated by the control panel. cPanel doesn't really provide us enough flexibility to effectively change that. But your organization structure isn't a bad idea. It might be a good item for suggestion at cpanel.net for a future update.

Just to clarify, you can stream content via HTTP on shared servers (via various methods of embedding media in pages, etc...). We do not run, nor allow, streaming media servers on shared servers, however, nor do we have any public media server available.

Sounds a lot like miniature golf with a longer walk between holes.

I'm not so sure about that. The last entry in the blogs I had in blogger was in February of 2003.
-
How long have you had a blogger account? I think the invites are based on length of time with blogger. I have a blogger account that dates back to 2000.

It's not just your account. I haven't been able to access it all morning.

With your configuration at TCH (and most places) people cannot "covertly" use your email addresses to receive email. People *can* send email claiming to be from your domain, but that's an issue with the way SMTP (the email protocol) works, not anything with the security of your site or your domain. And that also doesn't really have anything to do with whether you are using your email addresses or not. Forging of email addresses is relatively easy to detect. These crazy people you were talking to sound a bit like conspiracy theorists.

Hi Kolibri, Your site will be at the domain, not redirected to something else. You can change plans at anytime (upgrade or downgrade) with no extra cost. You just have to pay at the rate of the new plan. There is no sales tax on services. The price you see is the total price you need to pay. When you reach 80% of your bandwidth usage, you will get a warning that you are approaching your total bandwidth usage to the email address you setup in your control panel. When you hit 100%, your site will be automatically suspended (it won't serve pages anymore) until you make payment to either upgrade the account or purchase additional bandwidth for the month. Just know that when you sign up at TCH, you have a family of people here to help.

The client list shows up for me on both as well under Mozilla 1.7. What browser(s) did you try it with?

The menu is disabled on the search result page. Where you want to look is in the middle of the page, where an MSN search will fail with the result: One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you are searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords. Also note on the search form, you may want to specify the timeframe to search through. It defaults to the last 30 days. -
You know, yahoo groups has the option not to receive emails from groups your wife belongs to (so she can just go to the group to read the messages). There's no way 1500 emails a day is useful to her. Even filtered, she can't possibly make it through more than a fraction of that. What is she trying to do, create an archive of all the groups?
