Hi, The script will run as 'nobody' rather than 'root'. If you used the script to install the files, then the owner of the files is typically nobody as well. You can see the owner using most FTP packages. You can also change the permissions using FTP - or the file manager in cpanel.

The only way I can think of it to manually change the value in your database, using php myadmin. Someone else may be along shortly with a better idea though.

Hi, I would normally say you can copy it a table at a time, but as you say you have tried this and a 5mb table is likely to give problems. If you take a backup of your database, and save it in your root directory, then open a support ticket, telling us exactly where the file is, and which database name you want it copying it into. We will do it for you.

Hi Doug, we have a zero tolerance for spammers on our servers, hence we manage to keep our servers IP off blacklists. You can check our servers against all the common blacklists (as we do frequently) to ensure they are clear. Occasionally, there have been insecure scripts on our servers, used to send out spam. These are generally closed down within a very short period, and then we work hard with the blacklists and ISP's to ensure we do not get listed.

Hi, If you use spam assassin, and then go into the email section of cpanel, and select filters. Add a filter and just choose "SpamAssassin Spam Header", "begins with", and then enter "Yes" in the box. Then you can filter, and delete all such emails.

If he used her computer - which dials in through AOL, then he would have her password (or it was stored on her computer). Using her computer, the email was almost certainly sent from her email account.

Hi Annie, Welcome to the family I would guess the answer is in your comment "I replied to his note" If you used reply, rather than typing in his email address manually, and he had sent it from her account - then you would end up sending the email to his sister, rather than him. To make sure it doesn happen, send a new email to him - rather than just hitting the reply button. Or, if you do reply, delete the reply address and replace it with his email address.

What has happened in some cases is people have installed phpBB, then just removed the files, but left the database. In our checks, we have got the version number from the database. However, if in doubt, please open a help desk ticket

Yes, 2.0.11 from cpanel is fine. We are aiming to check all versions of phpBB running on our servers, and send out an email tonight and tomorrow night to all people running old versions of phpBB. If people do not update their forums within 48 hours, we aim to disable the forum (and only the forum, not the whole account) on their account, both to protect their accounts from being exploited and also to protect others on the servers from load issues which can be associated with these exploits. As a reminder - this is another good reason to ensure your cpanel contact details are uptodate - for situations where we want to contact you quickly and easily.

A number of vulnerabilities have been found in phpBB versions 2.0.x. These vulnerabilities are being attacked by a worm that exploits a bug in phpBB versions 2.0.10 and earlier. This is the first of a new kind of threat that automatically exploits a web application. The worm uses Google to search for phpBB boards, infects them, and then continues to spread from there. Infected sites show a red text "NeverEverNoSanity WebWorm Generation" (followed by a number) on a black background. All users should download version 2.0.11 from latest phpBB version and update your sites immediately. If you installed it via our cpanel, you can upgrade in cpanel to the latest version.

Hi, Yes, it would not be right for everyone to move to UK servers. I was not suggesting we would move them without a request - sorry if it came across as that. Personally, I host a number of sites (I have a reseller account) and I will probably keep that in the US, because many of my visitors are from the US. On the other hand, a ping time of less than 10ms from me to the UK server is tempting

Hi, Since you are in Spain, I would suggest moving your sites to the UK server. As you say, you will get much better timings from there. We have not started moving accounts to the UK yet, but we will be starting to do so shortly. I would see no point in moving to an East coast server for now - I'd move straight to the European ones if most of your visitors are from Europe.
