I agree that Dreamweaver kicks. But there is another wysiwyg that's even easier to use...NO HTML KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: CuteSITE Builder 3.0 It's a nifty and CHEAP program that lets you design and publish all in one interface. Trick is, you can insert as much HTML as you want, where ever you want within your pages. It doesn't even create the HTML pages until you tell it to publish, then has a built in FTP utility and does ALL the work for you. All you see on your pc is a single file with extension .tlx. There are some limitations, but it's $70 US (w/o maint.support) vs. $400 US for Dreamweaver. Trahla, Lianna

Thanks, Ollie! Lights out, I'm beat. See y'all in the morning. Lianna

Well, I completely mis-read your post. I just noticed that you were asking about the FTP stats. Sorry. Weird, I'm not getting any error, but I am getting a plain white page...nothing on it at all. Lianna

Until your site has been up for a bit, there won't be any stats logged for Webalizer to evaluate... I'll have to look to see the update frequency for the log files, but I'm betting that you won't see any for at least a 24 hour lag. I'll get back to you as soon as I get the definitive. Lianna

Thanks, Richard. And let us know if there's anything else we can help you with, ok? Lianna

OpiumTrail, You are welcome. Glad it worked out ok. While we don't mind what type of content you place on your site, could we ask that you use an "edited" version of your avatar? Please understand that many prospective hosting clients also visit this board, as you may have, and we'd like to portray a professionalism here. Thanks. Lianna

I can't speak of all of the folder that you mention (just cuz I dunno), but with regards to the Frontpage support: Instead of deleting the individual components and guessing as to what they are, do this instead. Access your cPanel and on the right side, under the group Site Management, there is an option of Frontpage Exentions. Click that, then click UnInstall Extensions. Much easier, huh? In the future if you do want them back, go to the same place and click Install instead. You'll notice that the postinfo.html page is now gone as well as all those _vti* directories. Most of the other directories are probably the result of having played with cPanel options. If it is something (a feature) that you are not intending to use at this time, I don't see a big risk in deleting the directory. HOWEVER, just to be on the safe side, you can backup your site before doing so: In cPanel, again under Site Management, click Backup. Click "Download Today's Home Backup". You will then pick a place on your harddrive to store the backup and it will be there incase you do a goof on the deletion stuff. ***Backup is ALWAYS a good idea, regularly and before making major changes that you're unsure of!*** Lianna

Stumbled on another free one this afternoon: AceHTML Freeware But if their freeware html editor is as riddled with adds and spyware as their Free AceFTP, then I'll pass. Maybe their paid version would be "ad-free". While I like the look, feel and speed of AceFTP freeware, I will NOT use it when Ad-Aware blocks 12 cookies per execution. Really. 12 is a bit excessive just for opening the app. Lianna

You and your family are in our prayers, Bill. I'm sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Lianna

Notepad???? Wow. There are editors that will really simplify your work and they don't fluff up the code like Frontpage. Granted, you could go to extremes of cash range. Never used it, but I hear CoffeeCup Free HTML has something going on. CuteHTML is helpful code editor and fairly inexpensive. Dreamweaver, of course the elite, is amazing but expensive. I upgraded my FP to Dreamweaver for a discount. Go to Macromedia's site and search as they were offering big $ off Dreamweaver if you give them a valid Frontpage product key (serial number). I think mine was $100 off the Dreamweaver/Fireworks duo. Lianna

Ain't Frontpage grand?! Good work figuring it out. Lianna
-
Ok.. That's alright by me. (and yes, FP DOES stink! All that fluff and filler for what?) Figure now's my chance to do some begging for the webmaster of that domain to go to Dreamweaver, or CuteSITE Builder! Lianna
-
All ye mightier than me, can someone tell me if this is possible? I have a domain / account that has FP enabled. All's well and good on the main account. I add a FTP User that should also have FP extensions. Does it? It doesn't appear to, but I'm missing some critical elements to test...uumm...like FrontPage! LOL (I don't use it anymore, traded it in for discount on Dreamweaver!) Anybody out there know the answers to the following? 1) Does the FTP user have FP capability without any extra work on my part? 2) If I am trying to replicate the contents of an existing site into the new FP user's space, what do I need to copy and what can I leave alone? Any guiding lights would be appreciated. Lianna

Try this instead: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/javascript...css_layout.html There was an extra http:// in the url. Lianna

http://www.secureserver.net/frwd_domain.as...?prog_id=simple Check out the part about Masking. That should get you what you're looking for and YES, SNH can do that. Lianna

Glad to be aboard! Hi Mike. Congratulations Ayman! Bill, I hope your trip doesn't include the mid-West. We're under winter weather advisories and warnings (MO, IL, KY). Please be careful where ever you're going. ;-) Lianna

Yes. You can do exactly as you describe. It was posted in another thread that SNH can handle the second domain pointer for $15. Lianna

Email Distributed To Two Internal Addresses
Lianna replied to Lianna's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Thought that I had all my ducks in a row, even re-did the whole thing. Only diff between then and now, besides your comma trick, was the email address had been created so it was a pop3 that I was forwarding. This time, I did not create the email address, just forwarded it. Gosh, that must make sense! Here's my approach the first time(s): Sales@ should redir to Owner@ and Manager@ So, I created the THREE email accounts and then setup forward for: Sales@ ==> Owner@ AND another forward for: Sales@ ==> Manager@ This scenario bombs the second redir to Manager@ But, if I do NOT create the Sales@ Mail account, but rather only set up the redirs (addressed together with commas or separately created forwards) it works. Try it out! If the email account (Sales@) exists, the multiple forwards bomb! I still like your comma trick, though. Makes very handy for creating this. Lianna -
Email Distributed To Two Internal Addresses
Lianna replied to Lianna's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
It's weird that it works. When I had tried to set up a forward to one address and then setup the same name to forward to a second address, it didn't work. I got delivery failure to the second address. Thinking that was logical, because in theory, the email was forwarded to the first address which makes it nonexistent to be forwarded to the second address. When doing it your way, it works great...but shows two separate forwarders in the list...just as mine had. Wonder what the difference is? Not that I really care, mind you, just a fleeting thought. As long as one way, any way, works then I'm good! Lianna -
Ah. Very cool. Thanks! Lianna

Email Distributed To Two Internal Addresses
Lianna replied to Lianna's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Well obviously it just had to be one little comma standing in my way! Thanks so much. I will get on this immediately. thanx, thanx, thanx. Lianna -
Turtle, Just did a Who Is lookup on thepetscorner.com and you are showing the CORRECT name servers AND IP addresses. So, it worked (apparently DotEasy automates the IP entry as well, but it just can't start out blank). FYI, if you ever want to know the ip adress of a server, you can try to ping it from a command prompt. Type at the prompt: ping ns5.***** returns the ping results as well as a display of the IP in [brackets] and then also in each ping reply statement. You're good to go. Should be live in 24-48 hours on SNH. Lianna

Bringing up an old subject here, but there has to be a better way to do this: I have one email address like contact@mydomain. Any mail sent to this address should be forwarded (distributed) to TWO people in my organization (owner and manager, for example). Right now, I am using a Mailing List for this, but have started getting List Admin tasks when people send mail to contact@mydomain. Not good. Someone give me a reasonable alternative. The Mailing List was overkill to start with and now has become a pain. I am trying to use the list for purposes other than its design, so of course. But, I have to do something. I have seen and used elsewhere a Mail Group function. You create an email name and then assign as many distributive recipients to the account as you wish. I am open to any suggestions at this point. Thanks. Lianna
