  1. Ya. Got it. Thank you. So did you notice the weird IP addressing in my lookups? ns1 shows two different ip's for the two examples and then ns3 in the second is the same ip as ns1 in the first! Weird. Lianna
  2. Thanks for that info. Rises a question then. My email had ns1, ns2, ns3 and ns4 listed and said they should be in that order. Does that then mean that all of my resold accounts will also be in that schema? That's how I've set them up, and they all seem to work fine, so I'm just curious. Also, this could explain something else that I noticed when querying whois records for my hosted domains. My domain shows IP addy for ns1 as different addy for ns1 of another domain that I host. ??? Example: stoverdatasystems.com - Domain servers in listed order: NS1.***** 64.191.26.182 NS2.***** 64.191.26.183 gonebarefootin.com - Domain servers in listed order: NS1.***** 64.191.23.200 NS2.***** 64.191.18.188 NS3.***** 64.191.26.182 As I told turtle, I only entered the name references for each of these and the IP was derived. Is this just no big deal? Lianna

  4. To *qualify* as a reseller, you just have to purchase a reseller plan. There are two available and you can see them detailed here: http://www.*****/resellers.html You are then given a cPanel for the domain that you signed up using as well as a Web Hosting Manager (WHM) control panel, where you'll create the packages (space, bandwith, etc) for your other domains. And then you just Add the domains. You can add as many as your quotas will allow. For example, if you buy into the Reseller Standard plan, then you get 1500MB space. If each of your domains/clients are alloted 100MB space then you could effectively host 15 domains. You get the math. Lianna
  5. You shouldn't have to put anything in the IP Address fields. All of the registrar control panels that I have used, have done a lookup to populate those fields on their own based on the name entered. So just enter the name based ones: NS1.***** NS2.***** Lianna PS. I HAVE to get me a cool avatar now!

  7. Welcome aboard! You're gonna love it here. Lianna
  8. If it makes you feel better, I have eliminated the domain name replication as a cause. I just copied your script to my cgi-bin and same error occurs. http://www.stoverdatasystems.com/cgi-bin/test.cgi Lianna
  9. Hmmm. I'm not a scripting kind of person. Lianna
  10. Did you try no tilde (~) before the name? Lianna
  11. Hey Turtle, You were probably wanting one of the SNH guys to answer this, but I can't stay away from your avatar! Wish the CSB board had avatars sometimes. Yes, your login name is the default email address. But it doesn't really matter, because you can always set the email to forward to another address (as I have). You get a ton of email options here. POP3, forwarders, blockers, autoresponders, mailing lists, web mail and control over your default address (for handling misaddressed mail). You still diggin out from under the snow? Lianna
  12. Yes, an American Holiday: Thanksgiving. But I'm sure you can celebrate too. Here's how: 1. Gather with your friends and family and prepare to be thankful for all the things you've been given. (Historically, a good harvest.) 2. Bake a turkey that is 1/3 your body weight and attempt to eat it along with 10 pounds of mashed potatoes, 2 quarts of cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce and at least 1 pumpkin pie. 3. Watch as much football as you can between naps. 4. Get off the couch about 4:30pm and fix a leftover turkey sandwich and then eat another pie. If all this sounds like too much, don't worry because you get Friday off, too! Unless you work in retail as Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year in the US. So, if in retail, you will need all the *energy* that you'll be getting from the Thanksgiving dinner the day before! Enjoy! Lianna
  13. Don't know about the guestbook, but the counter code works fine... Here are the steps: From cPanel, click on Counter Answer all the relevant questions and click Preview to see if that's what you want to see on your page. If it is, then click Create HTML Now, in the bottom frame is a line of code that looks something like: <img src="/cgi-sys/Count.cgi?df=yourname.dat|display=Counter|ft=6|md=5|frgb=100;139;216|dd=A"> Use your mouse to highlight the code and then right click and Copy. Paste that code into the page on your site where you want the counter to appear. Publish (FTP) the page. If you don't see it then click refresh or better yet, hold down the CTRL key and click the refresh button at the same time (forces a completely reload of the page into your browser). Did that help? I have company all day today, so I won't be able to look at the Guestbook for you...sorry. Anybody else? Lianna
  14. Whoops! #2 is a how question answered "yes"? ;-) Lianna
  15. Don't despair! This is what happens with change: we GROW! Using Outlook? Are you getting a specific error message when it attempts to receive email? Or does it not give you any errors and says No New Messages? Click Tools > Email Accounts then the Mail tab. Click on your email account to highlight it and then the Properties button. What information is entered on the Servers tab of that dialog? Could you post it here (except your password of course)? There is another post in FAQ that details the setup in Outlook Express. It is NO DIFFERENT in Outlook, same procedure. I'll be in most of the morning, you can IM me and chat if you want. Lianna
  16. Camppain, Let me guess, your old host had an online site-building application, right? Something like Page Builder or Trellix Web Builder? There is no page builder here that I am aware of. You need to build your pages on your local pc using any software that you like. Then FTP the files from there to the host. Me? I use CuteSITE Builder and Dreamweaver to develop all of my pages/sites. Both have a built in FTP client to help with the transfer of files. CSB is ~$70US (http://www.globalscape.com/products/cutesitebuilder/index.asp) and Dreamweaver costs a small fortune. If you are used to creating in HTML, try Globalscape's CuteHTML. Their web productivity pack is a great buy @60$: the latest versions CuteFTP 5.0 XP, CuteZIP 2.1, CuteHTML 2.3 and CuteMAP 1.1. (http://www.globalscape.com/products/wppack.asp) Or CuteHTML solo for $38, http://www.globalscape.com/products/cutehtml/index.asp. Lianna
  17. Right on! I've been using Ad-Aware/Ad-Watch for over a year and love the results. Everytime I surf, I end up with a page full of blocked cookies and know that I'm safe from the info-jackers. I pay for my shareware when it's proven itself and it didn't take long to write a check to Lavasoft. So now I have the Pro version and will continue to support the effort. Lianna
  18. Good Point! Thanks...just trying to make my life easier. Dad always told us to "Work smart, not hard." So then what my REAL wish list would be is a 'bulk' account creation tool in cpanel! Enter name, enter password, enter next name, etc. then finally Create Account(s). Cool, huh? But since I don't have a clue how all the backend stuff works, it may well not even be possible. Dreaming. Lianna
  19. I was beginning to wonder if it was a really good question or a really dumb one! Thanks. Again, this is not a big deal, just would be helpful. Lianna
  20. I've just discovered this: your Account Name in OE should be name@domain.com It's not the password that's wrong, but the account name. Try that. Lianna PS: I'm new here too, so just speaking from experience of transferring 6 domains in the past week. Every one of them had this issue. While I didn't have to do this with the MAIN account mail, for every other one I added, I had to enter it like above.
  21. Hey, mountaindew: Been playing some more. Found on the phpBB site other "Styles" that were quite easy to implement: Look see. This one is called cobalt. I have to get a better logo now! Lianna
  22. Will do. Thanks. Lianna
  23. Thank you. I won't then. Lianna
  24. So there's no reason / "law" why it can't be changed at will? New here and don't want to tick anyone. Thanks. Lianna
  25. If anybody's interested, the back-door to your own image: Pick your image and rename it logo_phpBB.gif Upload to /forum/templates/subSilver/images and replace exisiting. I renamed the original logo_phpBB.gif to old_logo_phpBB.gif for keep sakes. See it here.
