Ah, then it was YOU, Devynn! Li
-
Good Catch, twowheels! So Jackcobb, does that help straighten your issue as well? Li
-
Yeah, rayners. Aren't you the one that called me a light-weight cuz I only have like 14 email addresses? Li (by the way, getting tired of typing Lianna, so Li is my new name...pronounced Lee, with a bit of southern twang to it.. )

Haha. Funny-girl. Nope, we'll keep ya happy, just gotta let us know how! Li

Ok. It's fixed. When we brought your package over from your previous host yesterday, their package constraints for your account moved over too. I reset your account to Expert levels and you should be good to go. Lianna Devynn, the main account is truly an email account, too. It is also the catch-all so if you redirect it or setup :fail: or :blackhole: as the default, then you are correct. Those settings will indeed affect your main account and then you must create an account with that same name to grab the real mail to it. Gnome-girl does use that main account email address and has the default set to that main account...that way she gets EVERYTHING sent to her domain. Lianna

Devynn, For an email account that is created within your space that's true, but not for the main account. Gnome-girl, We'll get it fixed up right away. The main account email, which is what you are using, should only be dependent upon the space available in your package. Lianna

OMGosh! That's uncanny!

Ok, Devynn, I just sent you the info via PM. Check your inbox. Lianna ***EDIT: Anyone else that cannot access the new help desk because they did not receive an email, please PM me. Thanks.

Oh, KW! THAT was FUNNY! Devynn, hang on a bit and I'll PM you with the info. Lianna

...and the Simple Reseller Plan would allow you to do just that. Lianna

Hey, Paul if you screw it up too bad, we can always just reprovision your account and let you start over! "If all else fails, read the directions." "If all else fails, start over." "If all else fails, go to bed" "If all else fails, go to church" ....anybody care to add their fav? Lianna

Ah, see, I didn't think that my simplistic view of subdomain was spot-on! You're exactly right. The subdomain's root IS the subdirectory. Yep. Doh! Lianna EDIT: I'm going back to bed. My brain's not quite functioning right this morning. Maybe I should just try again.

Devynn, Although I've never used the Entropy Banner feature, seems that using it in a subdomain's directory (public_html/subdomainname folder) should be no different than using it in any other subdirectory (public_html/subdirname folder) of your site. See what I mean? That's all a subdomain really is: a subdirectory of your main site with a configured URL. So, my question would be, does it work in ANY subdirectory? If so, then you should also be able to make it work in your subdomain's directory. Anybody have Entropy Banner working in a subdirectory? Lianna

Jackcobb, A link to your phpbb would be helpful so that we may look at the issue. Thanks. Lianna

Shared SSL is available to every account here but not setup by default. Please issue a help desk ticket requesting ssl for your domain. The helpdesk response then should include instructions for accessing it. Lianna

Wow, Paul! I guess no one has an answer for you. My suggestion would have to be to look at a MySQL forum for your answer. Here's a good one: http://www.sitepointforums.com Please let us know what you find. Lianna

Not being notified of tracked topics
Lianna replied to pphoa's topic in Family Forums News and Updates
No, I think that means per single login incident to the board. For example, if you log in at 8am and log out at 9am, that is one incident, so if 3 people respond before you log back in, then you would receive only the one (first) email. However, if you then login at 10am and log out at 11am. Then someone responds at 11:30, you should then receive another email. That is how my test showed the incidence of emails. But I absolutely received NO emails for tracked topics if I did not Log Out via that option atop this board. Now, if this is still not happening for you and you are using the Log Out link atop the board before closing your browser, then please let me know. Lianna -

I'm sorry Sleepy. I don't think that I understand your question. Could you give me some more information please? Thanks. Lianna

Right, I saw that, but wanted to make sure that Flip saw it too. Li

Well, my golly. I ran that and did a *find on this page* search for mod_gzip and of course did not find it! Good work, KW. Lianna

Ok, here's the steps to make it easy. Skip the first 4 steps from above. Start here: 5. Access your cPanel 6. Click Manage Subdomains 7. Create a subdomain like securemail and click Add 8. Click Go back, to get back to the Manage Subdomains screen 9. Click Setup Redirection for that subdomain 10. Click in the text box and delete the http:// that is already there. 11. Type in the text box https://******:2096/horde/index.php 12. Click Save. 13. Log out of cPanel and test http://securemail.****** to make sure that you access the secure mail login. It prepopulates the Horde login, so you really only have to login once. and then hit Enter. Lianna
-
But you only have to do this once to get to the correct address. Once you get to the address, you can copy it and paste it into the subdomain redirect. From that point on, you will only be promted to login (by windows), once, then it will prepopulate the Horde login screen and you just Login. These are the steps for setting up making it easy for you. Lianna

You do have to login, but as any mail user that you have configured. To use a username other than your cpanel username and pass, you must enter the full email address in the windows login popup. For example: I entered into my addressbar: http://stoverdatasystems.com/webmail I am prompted to login by windows and I type username: lianna@stoverdatasystems.com and that mail account's password. (my cpanel username is not 'lianna'). That process dumps me to the *pick Neomail or Horde* page. That's where I can pick the Click for Secure Site link. This is all relating to items #3 and 4 in my list.
