*YAY* Beth! Yep, TCH can do exactly what you want done. All six domains through one reseller account. Depending upon your bandwidth usage and cumulative site size, you be able to pick from the plans we have available and stay close to your current price range. (See Reseller Plans here.) I had a Platinum and a Premium package with other said host. Hosting a total of 10 domains there. From reading all the reviews of the past 3 months, I'd say I got out just in time. I haven't looked back once. For the Basic Reseller Plan here, you'll pay a whopping $3.99 more each month and get a jillion times the support, goodies in cpanel, control over your domains, and US (the family). Good luck in your search for a new home. Lianna

I have a ftp user named lianna. I have an IE shortcut on my desktop to: ftp://lianna:mypassword@stoverdatasystems.com/ It takes me straight to the public_html/lianna/directory. Li

create an index.htm and place in the public_html folder. Code that page to redirect the visitors to your /catalog/default.php? page. The public_html directory is the first stop for a visitor of your domain, so if you want me to type: http://youdomain.com and end up at http://youdomain.com/catalog/default.php? then you must redirect me. index.htm or index.php will do it. Thank you. I'm sure this will be of value to someone else! Lianna

Actually, I think it's the two @ signs in the string. Sends IE for a ride to nowhere. Take advantage of the IE Login box that pops and it works everytime. ftp://****/files Pops a login box that you'd then populate with Username = stuff@**** Password = password Bang, you're in. Li

First, before you try to edit the theme, I would suggest implementing it to see what really needs the edit. Go to your general config and select the theme and save the change. Second, the theme is only an interface to the message data that is in the database. So, no, you will not lose the posts, users, etc. by switching to that theme. Lianna

Apparently not good enough. This app is REALLY buggy. I just spent the morning going through the sourceforge tracker and debugging only to be in no better situation with the app itself. (..but the database is fine ) Let's find a different solution. The phphelpdesk app is not my idea of stable. Lianna

Yup, sure will. As soon as the helpdesk ticket is addressed, then you can access the cpanel for your new domain name using the same ip address (unless otherwise told in your HD response by tech support), and the username and pass that you requested. Then set your domain name's DNS to the those given to you and hurry up and wait. Li

No, you should replace the 123.123.123.123 with the IP address given in your welcome email...it's a set of 4 numbers separated by a period. Examples: 64.65.181.26 162.35.234.0 Li

I got it. (These notes all refer to installation of phphelpdesk as found at sourceforge) Two things, one less complicated than the other and I have several other installation notes for you. 1. The database name references can be modified in the config files to accomodate the shared MySQL resources. Not tricky. This will also apply to the database username and password. 2. To run the dump, you just do the build manually. Simply use the SQL capability in phpMyAdmin by copying the dump commands into the phpMyAdmin SQL command textbox. You edit the dump file and just remove all the fluff till you get to barebones. By that, I mean remove all extra line breaks, remove all mid-command carriage returns, remove all comments. Copy that code and paste it into phpMyAdmin and click Go. (shammer, I'll send you the cut file in a bit). Now, I'm still working some of the config icky bugs, but for the most part, it's functional and I didn't need server root to do it. Li

You may change the name of the domain being hosted here in your account. It will not cost you anything to do that. So, easy way out says, you dump the domain that you're fighting it out with now and buy a new one for 10.95$ if it's not that big a deal to you. Then give us a helpdesk ticket with the change info (from domainname1 to domainname2) and we'll get you fixed up. That way, you can dump the old host, domain and all before the end of the month. You're call. How important is it to you to keep your existing domain name? Lianna

Well darn. Let me look at the first one tonight and I'll see how far I can get. I'm still figuring that the error in Line1 of this one is the same potential pitfall of the other...shared MySQL resources. See the DB name on the shared resource is going to append "username_" to the front of the db name. If the dump is hardcoded for a particular db name, then it's gonna blow. See? Let me look. Lianna

Hi, Dabs! You can access your cPanel via the IP address given in your welcome email. Something like: You can upload your site anytime by using the ip address and your username. Then you can view your site via: replacing 123.123.123.123 with the IP address given in your letter and replacing username with YOUR username. Until you are able to access your domain name and update its name servers to those given in the email, you'll not be able to view your site via domain name, nor will email work that you setup via cpanel. Once you have made the necessary Name Server changes to you your domain, it will take 24-48 hours typically for the propagation of those changes throughout the internet. THEN you'll be able to access your site via domain name. BTW: Welcome Home! Lianna

Also notice atop the View New Posts list, it shows:

The list will clear if you use the LogOut option atop the board when you leave. During the same session on the board, it will not clear. (Not that I can make happen anyway.) Li
