    Smtp Port

Exactly KW. I use my ISP's outgoing mail server because they do block port 25 to outside mail servers. Never had a problem. Lianna
  2. spitwad, Try this link instead: http://www.lennonokun.com/guestbook.html Lianna

    Im Back!

Woohoo! Missed ya, bud! Now go fix that Avatar, eh? Lianna
  4. Thanks, I'll stick to dogs and cats! Dad says, "Work smart, not hard." Also says, "I don't have to know the answers if I know where to find them." He's a great Dad. Lianna
  5. Ok, several questions: 1. Do you have a file called survey.pl? 2. Do you have it saved to public_html/cgi-bin? 3. Did you upload it in ASCII mode? If you do not have a file called survey.pl, then I suggesting reading further (or backward) in your book that provides the code. Surely they provide the contents of survey.pl file in the book. Create that file per their instructions and then upload to the cgi-bin directory of your site. Make sure that you upload using ASCII, not binary. Lianna
  6. timur, Give us the address of the page that contains the poll. That way, we can go take a look at your code in context. Thanks. Lianna
  7. Were you using Neomail or Horde? Lianna
  8. jmazz - Welcome Home! Critical Mass, What? I must have missed that question! Reticulated Python Source: DidYouKnow.cd/kids/ Lianna
  9. Self-taught English is difficult and you are doing VERY well. Muy bien. Lianna George - try this translation tool from Google as a learning tool or to translate those more difficult statements. (Lo utilicé para traducir esta declaración.)
  10. Hmm. So is that secondary site the EXACT same site as the primary, but in a different language and with it's own domain name (reflective of the language translation of the primary domain name)? As policy, TCH does not allow for hosting of multiple domains in a single account unless it is a reseller account. But your question begs a bit of discussion depending on the answer to my question above. Lianna
  11. George, you really do already have a good handle on what's happening. The missing piece..... About every internet service provider in the entire world has 'database' of its own that has a list of all domain names and their related name servers. When you change your name server information with your registrar, that change must "propagate" or distribute to every one of those ISP's lists. Now, the tricky part is that it is up to the ISP to determine when and at what frequency they will update their list. This is what creates variation in the amount of time that propagation will take. http://GRUPO-AVVA.COM does take me to your site. My ISP has the correct information updated in their list now. Two things you can check if you still aren't getting the domain name to resolve: 1. Clear your cache, delete temp internet files (using Internet Explorer, this is under Tools> Internet Options) 2. From a dos prompt, ping your domain name and see if you get resolution. Open a command prompt (usually, Programs > Accessories > MS Dos Prompt or Command Prompt) . Type: ping grupo-awa.com It should resolve to the IP address that you've been using. If it cannot resolve the name, then your ISP's list is not updated (probably). Lianna
  12. (it's good to be Queen!) The only dummies in this world are the ones that choose not to learn. We learn by asking and investigating. How to get a pic next to your name: Called an avatar and if you check out your profile settings for this board, there is an option for changing your avatar. To get there, atop the forum while you are logged in, click My Controls. Welcome home, George. Lianna
  13. Sidenote, Aaron: ASP will only work on Windows OS based servers, not UNIX/Linux. Just another thing to consider. Lianna
  14. Hmmm. No, that is not supposed to happen. Can you please submit a helpdesk ticket about this? Thanks. Lianna
  15. I understand about the banning of chat, but on the support page for TCH, there is an online chat option that is solely for chatting with us. Seems there are a lot of companies now going to an online chat support option (including McAfee and Earthlink to name a couple). Also seems to me, this is not really a chat per se as would be banned by your work. I completely get how Y! Messenger, AIM and MSN Messenger would be frowned upon, but support channels that directly connect may be acceptable....(or maybe should be...). My two cents. Lianna

    Ranks?

Don't forget now, this is forum should not be used as your sole source of information and help, especially with third-party applications. The phpBB forum itself is a great resource for all things phpBB. You can find it here: http://phpbb.com/phpBB/ Lianna

    Ranks?

I have never done any ranks changing in phpBB, but I can take a look later this evening if you can hang on just a little longer. Lianna
  18. Thanks for the kind words! ...no go tell all your friends. Lianna
  19. Welcome home, Critical Mass! Lianna
  20. timur, A reseller is an account holder that has the ability to host additional domains and sell that space from within their account. Lianna
  21. James, If you can't get into the helpdesk, try online chat with one of the support or last resort, please email tony@totalchoicehosting.com. Thanks. Lianna
  22. I did a search of Google and found only that it is a cpanel addon script. Very vague references and no documentation about its function or implementation. I did deduce that it is the same as cgiwrap, but with the requirement of login to run the script. Sorry, I'm no help on this one. Lianna
  23. Sorry for the delay and non-response here. Can you tell us some more about this guesbook that you've used? Where did you find it/the code? Can you paste the code here or give us the URL address of the page that contains the code? What does this mean? Have you been using this same guestbook at a previous host and now want to transfer the guestbook contents to your site hosted with TCH? Lianna
  24. Well, I'm going to guess on this one because I can't find any documentation to support a 'real' answer and it looks like no one else really knows either. I don't think that there is a limit. Technically then, your limit would be somewhat dictated by your available space (your package). Are you specifically running into an issue with Email Blockers? If so, how many do you currently have listed? Lianna
  25. blackhood, No worries. Your post didn't give me the impression that you were going to hotlink. I wanted to post the message for all readers of the post, so there was not any question. ...guess I could have been more clear.. Li
