Randall, exactly right on the nose. And, just another tid-bit. The cPanel File Manager upload does not typically work well for uploading script files. I had the devil of a time figuring out what I'd done wrong with a simple .pl file. I was uploading through cPanel File Manager. As soon as I transferred the file with CuteFTP, all was dandy. So you signed up for hosting, you got an emails requesting payment for that hosting. You made that payment and then got another email...that last email...what was its contents? Just receipt of the payment or was it your welcome letter with all the cool how to publish your site stuff? Lianna

The MyODBC part of the host line is not correct. Should just say 'localhost' I will advise everyone at this point to create a backup of their site and their mysql db's through cPanel before upgrading phpbb. Lianna

Yep, I'm not a lawyer by any stretch, but I've read my fair share of agreements and have some lawyer friends. I'm pretty good at reading literally and finding the hole or possible consequences. MY personal opinion, the downloading of an illegal mp3 is just as illegal as storing it. (Receipt of stolen goods.) But I also 'get' the ramifications of such a prosecution attempt! Could you imagine?!?

OH, I see. But my response stands. The TOS and AUP are agreed to by the client PRIOR to the illegal act and TCH is clearly exhonerated in that agreement. Kinda like, if I'm driving 5 miles over the speed limit and pass a cop. He fails to ticket me. I then get in a wreck and cause injury to others. Can they then sue the cop???? Anyway. Jim, what do you mean? I think all questions are addressed through the agreed to TOS and AUP. Violate those and you're site/account is subject to suspension/termination. Guess I'm lost. What do you mean? Lianna

Themp, good questions. the invision board install is so new here through cpanel that I've not had a chance yet to pick it apart. I've been using this board for some time, but rarely even have to visit the Admin area (great family we have here!). You may want to check Invision's site (here) for answers to your validation email request. As for upgrading here, dunno. If nobody else chimes in soon though, I'll go see if I can find an answer for you....you may have to 'bump' me if I forget. Ok? Lianna

ODBC through FP2002 is designed for connection to a server based Access Database. TCH servers are Linux based and therefore cannot use Access (Windows based). ASP, same way. Sorry. Lianna ("It's all about redundant. It's all about saying it again." )

You can use the shared ssl here for free, but you've already pointed out the pitfall for that. I'm not certain, but FREESSL is probably just about the same situation. You have a ton of work ahead of you. Good luck! Lianna

To host multiple domains within one account requires the purchase of a Reseller Plan. Did you want a dedicated IP for EACH of your domains? Dedicated IP's are an add-on feature ($) with some of the Reseller Plans. Take a look through these forums for example sites. Many members have their site link within their signatures here. Lianna
