Ok, let's say that I want a backup made of my db everyday and archiving the most recent 5, automatically. Ideas?

Sam, are you on a highspeed connection? If so, then you seriously need to get a "real" firewall. Use a router! Even if it only connects to one machine, it's well worth the money. Netgear 4port Cable/DSL router is at Amazon for like $36 after MIR. And it works, easy to setup and you won't have to deal with those jerks that try to get into your machine. Simply block all WAN requests and you're done. (CSB still publishes just dandy.) Li

Tip: Open your dumpfile.sql for editing through the cPanel FileManager. Highlight all contents of the file and CTRL+C to copy. Then open phpMyAdmin and click SQL. KW, Question about plugins, too. I would love to use some of the plugins available, but don't they have to be in the same dir as sqmail? If so, then the standard installation does not give me access to sqmail dir, does it? I think I'm puzzled. Any light? Li

Provided that the site is relational to your main site, this is acceptable. Collaborative site building is a perfect example of the Acceptable Use of your TCH space.

Most of the files and folders that are preinstalled in your space are necessary for proper function of all the bits-n-pieces. They should not be deleted! What you really need to be concerned with is the contents of your public_html folder. Keep your focus for organization within that folder and you'll be dandy.
