  1. Welcome back home, Jade!
  2. As a general rule, TCH does NOT install or otherwise upgrade software to beta releases. When this version becomes stable and debugged, it may then be considered for TCH servers.
  3. What do you mean by no pages show up? Do you get an error message/page of some kind? Can you from a Dos prompt ping totalchoicehosting.com? If so, then probably an IE/AOL issue or settings problem. If not, can you from a dos prompt ping 216.22.28.57? If so then probably a DNS settins issue. If not, then your internet connection is broken somehow. Kill the connection setup and rebuild it. See if that helps
  4. Sorry, I'm confused. hindi.gohindi.com is really the exact same as gohindi.com/hindi Anything that you put into the /hindi directory could be accessed by either technique. However, if you create a subdirectory inside public_html/hindi called hindi (resulting in public_html/hindi/hindi) then the following would be possible and different: hindi.gohindi.com hindi.gohindi.com/hindi See?
  5. MutualWisdom, Thanks for your interest. At this point there are no plans to offer additional contests at TCH.
  6. CuteZIP by Globalscape! (Hands down better than WinZip). $20US

Why? I like the one you're using!
  8. Good call, IMO. Thanks for all your hard work!
  9. paperwings, I certainly understand your hesitation and to that end, you are welcome to view our standings at FindMyHosting.com. Yes, it sounds to good to be true, but I can assure you that the offer is real. Good luck with your search and thanks for considering TotalChoice Web Hosting!
  10. News to me! Thanks for the update Rick. However, that would definitely ONLY include a www.sub, correct? You still would not be able to create my.sub.domain.com, correct?

Likely, those visitors do not have cookies enabled on their browsers. They can adjust their browser security settings to enable cookies from your site specifically or just lower their security setting to allow third party cookies.
  12. Those are actually forth level domains and NO, that's not possible here (as in its.my.domain.com is not possible. Third level domains are subdomains as we all know and love them (my.domain.com, yay.tchrocks.com, etc.) Second level domains are our domain names as we refer to them (domain.com and tchrocks.com, etc). Top Level Domains or TLD's are the .com, .org, etc.
  13. Batman, I tell ya!
  14. Just emailed you. We can test this together and then post back here with the definitive answer.
  15. bobo, More should but probably won't! This is what puts TCH above the rest.
  16. cPanel Build = 8.5.3-STABLE 3 No, the feature shown on the cpanel demo is not available here. You should be able to replicate the functionality through phpMyAdmin though by using SQL statements. Create a user in Manage MySQL, but do not assign the user to the db. Then run a grant SQL statement in the db through phpMyAdmin. A bit more hassle, but even MySQL documents this method as preferred.
  17. Anyhow thanks for highlighting the fact Dang. I completely mis-read that! I thought he was only looking for the freebies. doh! CSB is not currently being offered for sale here at TCH. Sorry. If that changes, I will certainly be posting an update.
  18. Hmm... I also cannot see the .htaccess file in my directory when using SmartFTP. With CuteFTP all's well. I changed the settings in SmartFTP to that which was recommended by their help site for viewing hidden files, but to no avail. This is using SmartFTP version: 1.0.979 What version are you using and have you attempted to contact SmartFTP about this? I would also suggest posting to the forums on their site as well. I'm more inclined to believe this is not a change or issue with the servers because I can view using CuteFTP.
  19. Using CuteFTP, I can see all of mine. SmartFTP huh? Ok, let me try it.
  20. According to the WhoIs, the old hosting company is listed as the regsitrant (owner) and contact for this domain name... ...teehhee...but they list a phone number: 18314238518 (Santa Cruz, CA, USA) Also appears that they have a forum on their site which has been attended to in the last 24 hours. You may want to try some polite pressure thru that avenue. Hope that helps. Good luck!
  21. Montty, CSB isn't free though. It runs about $70US. Which in the grand scheme of available applications for web design, it's very reasonable and puts out some wonderful sites.
  22. samporras, If you are ready to buy a program, I'll suggest PestPatrol.
  23. Hey, Thomas! Open cPanel for the new site and then go to the File Manager. Navigate into public_html and see if there is a index.html there Click on it once and then click the Delete link on the right. That should do it.
  24. Did you already create that db, user and assign the user to the db through cPanel's Manange MySQL ? That must be done before the install.
  25. First thing that I would do is verify that the files are really hidden and not missing. From cPanel, use the File Manager to navigate to the files and just verify that they are indeed there.
