Remember that when using computers other than your own, you never know what kind of software may be installed. Keyloggers, screen grabbers. These could be intentional by the owner, or viruses unknown to the owner. (You should know how to keep this sort of stuff off of your own computer.) Any, many companies use this software intentionally to monitor their employees...

You can use cpanel (on your old host) to backup your entire site from the old host, and ftp the backup file to your own computer. Then, you ftp the backup file from your own computer to your TCH website folder, and use cpanel to restore the backup. Then delete the backup file to save space. When the TCH tech's do it, they can ftp directly from old host to TCH. When you do it your self, you have to use your own computer as the middle guy. Something to remember, if any of your scripts have absolute paths in the configs, you will probably have to change them for TCH. Your old host may have been /home/www/hft4344 and TCH may be /home/bob...

Uh, I was giving Rob an easy question so he wouldn't feel so bad... Too bad, I guess he will have to wait for another one now.

What's the possibility of getting a log file containing addresses of all emails deleted by my filters in cpanel?

I use WindowsXP with VNC to connect to my Debian GNU/Linux machine to use Firefox. So, it's like Windows and Linux as friends walking together hand-in-hand...

Sa (spamassassin) 3.x Update Problem
jandafields replied to Gsloop's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
My server has 2.63 However, they say that all servers have the same version of cpanel, and spam assassin is updated only with updated cpanel, so the servers MUST have different versions of cpanel. If it wasn't for the known header rewrite bug that sends certain mail to the wrong address, I wouldn't really care what the version was. -
Possibly not what you are wanting in this situation, but maybe something you didn't know was possible: You can change cpanel so that awstats is the only available option, or just have awstats and webmail as options. You can easily add/remove all the choices in cpanel if you are a reseller with the feature manager in whm. I usually take out everything from cpanel except: Add/Remove Mail Accounts Backup MySQL AwStats Logs

Sa (spamassassin) 3.x Update Problem
jandafields replied to Gsloop's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I thought everyone here was still using SA 2.63. ??? -
I hope it is updated soon. There is 1 pretty nasty bug in the current version of SpamAssassin that really drives me crazy!!!

I don't think that TCH prohibits adult images. Is that correct? Not that any of my websites contain them, but reading through the TOS and AUP, it looks to be okay to host those images (which really suprises me by the way).

I'm not related to TotalChoiceHosting in anyway except by being a customer. Anyway... The reseller account (which I have) allows you more freedom: You (yourself) are able to modify domain records on all the extra accounts you create in your account except your master account. You can change the themes in cpanel for your extra domains. You can host as many domains as you want, each with their own seperate webspace account within your account. You can also sell the webspace, give it away, whatever. You don't pay anything extra for the accounts you create inside your reseller account. By the way, lots of email hosts reject attachments based on extension. Oh, and the initiation rituals here are not that bad. I fully recovered in just 2 days. (just kidding)

I am pretty sure that you can not put a limit on the upload filesize through ftp, unless the disk space quota is reached of course. Can you post the exact error message here?

How Many Mailman Lists Can I Set Up
jandafields replied to speedracer's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
I imagine if you do this at night time, it will be less of an issue? -
DiscoverCard has a service like that. You can download a program to your computer from their website. It generates a one-time use number. Once it's used, it's dead. Then, just generate another one. It also has an online program if you don't want to download the program. It gives you a temporary 3-digit security number too.

You know, sometimes emails get conveniently "lost in cyberspace..."

For Outlook, SSL SMTP is on port 465 For secure ssl Webmail, use: https://www.domain.com:2096

Wow, you have a really good memory. It's been a long time since I wrote that. Anyway, I am Josh, but you can call me Jana or Janda or Josh or whatever you want.

Cool! I wonder if there will be an option to talk directly to Bill?

Give me your email address. I'll have all these emails forwarded to you. By the way, how is the mortgage rate on your house? And if you need any body parts enlarged, I have plenty of those emails as well.
