Here lately, I've been getting emails "Giving away free Dell Laptops to testers" at least 2 or 3 times daily... How many people have seen these? They have only started in the past few weeks.

I need an animation for a website opening page, probably flash would be best, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I build websites. I'm not an artist, and I'm not good with complicated graphics. I expect to pay for this of course. I don't know if it is appropriate to use these forums to ask for this. So, I'm not going into any more detail here. If anyone is interested in doing this, please PM me. Thanks!!!

This was a .INFO domain by the way. It must be one of those quick ones like .US like MikeJ talked about.
-
I'm guessing that some very very very smart person designed and wrote this program.

I ordered a domain name at 2:25pm I changed the nameservers to totalchoicehosting at 2:26pm I tried to access the website on the internet at 2:27pm IT WAS ALREADY WORKING THROUGH TCH!!! How can that be? It has always taken many hours for the nameservers to finally change and for the new domain's dns propagation... This was a matter of seconds or less!

I'm pretty sure that the gmail servers are backed-up regularly.
-
GMail users can send and receive attachments up to 10MB per email. I've never had problems receiving multi-megabyte files through TCH before.

I am transfering a domain from 1and1 to godaddy. I started the transfer on Aug 27. How long should it take to transfer?

public_html is not in 'homedir'. I think it gets to the unexpected end of archive before having a chance to get public_html. I have plenty of discspace left. Anyway, the md5 sums match up. I will check on the winrar version...
-
I did a cpanel backup and got these results: The md5sum on the backup I downloaded is correct (same as in the log below). When I extract the zip file on my computer, it works awhile and WinRAR says "unexpected end of archive". Some of the files are there, but public_html is missing. >-------------------------------------------------------- Copying Reseller Config...Done Copying SSL Certificates, CSRS, and Keys...Done Copying Mail files....Done Copying frontpage file....Done Copying proftpd file....Done Copying www logs............. ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... You CAN filter by subject, and send to delete. -
If you get a reseller account, all your accounts will be on the same server.

How To Backup Just One Directory?
jandafields replied to dlevens's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Nevermind about the "p" option. It is fine. Anyway, you possibly have some files owned by "nodody" that are not readable by everybody. These were probably created by the gallery program. If your userid doesn't have access to at least read those files, then they cannot be backed up. That's probably the case because Gallery does that to the data files for security purposes. You will need to either change the permissions on those files, or run the tar command under the user "nobody". -
How To Backup Just One Directory?

why did you add the "p" option for? -
i'm guess that is a limitation of norton password manager. www.domain.com:2095 and www.domain.com:2082 look like the same url to norton. They are just using different ports. With the forums, having two passwords (main and protected) tricks norton because they are coming from the same main url.

That post was written a few cpanel versions ago. It was a known bug and is *possibly* fixed now.

Cannot Create A Forwarder To My Main Account
jandafields replied to dlevens's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
If I understand you correctly, this is what you are wanting to do: cpanel_id@domain.com -> cpanel_id@server##.totalchoicehosting.com Is that correct? If so, then use cpanel_id@server##.totalchoicehosting.com in the forwarder instead of just cpanel_id -
Are you asking "When did you last install Windows?" or "When was Windows version X released from MS?"

What's the new cool (practical) stuff in ver 5?

I use DSL with SBC Global, and (rarely) I can access certain pages and not others. The other day, I could access google.com, but not yahoo.com. Tracert would stop at an sbc router. Wait a while, try again, all better... I'm real happy with their dsl service though, especially with the 26.95/month deal. A lot of people are still paying 20 - 25 / month for dial-up Yuck!

The process should take less than 6 days after the transfer is authorized. (And, hopefully not that long) But, you are at the mercy of your current registrar and there is really nothing you can do to speed up the process.

What was your exact command? Did you run this from a cronjob? If not, then where? -

Symantec Brightmail Anti-spam 99.999% Accurate?
jandafields replied to dlevens's topic in Software Talk
Messages marked as spam are automatically deleted, so I guess I would never know if I lost some. Looking at my inbox, the messages from my friends all seem to have a score between negative-5 and positive-3. And, I still get a few spams. 4.5 doesn't seem to be real aggressive.
