  1. You're right, Jack. I used server_vars as an example and then just used it again but yes, the variable they should be using is $_FILES. Thanks for noticing it
  2. As Charles said, open a Help Desk ticket and see if they can restore your database from a backup. Also, listen to Bruce and Don: make periodic backups! Edit: Raul had Bruce and Dont, I removed the "t"
  3. Welcome to the family, Nick. I have nothing to add about this issue apart from what has already been said, so I'll just say that if you need anything, you know where to post Welcome aboard

    Java

First of all, you need to know if the game is supposed to run on the server or if it's an applet which will run on the client's browser. If it's supposed to run on the server, I'm sorry to inform you that it is not possible here at TCH, since TCH does not support server side Java. If it's an applet, it's quite easy to make it work, you just need to make a webpage containing the propper markup to embed the applet. If this is the case, let me know and I'll give you a hand setting it up.
  5. I completely agree with Rob. IE is also not an option for me, since I run Linux. I do use Firefox and I do think it's a much better browser than IE, which, nowadays, I don't even consider a real browser... it's more like a toy. And a bad, misbehaving one Still, I completely understand Bill's point of view and if I had a business about which I cared as much as Bill cares about TCH, I'd probably do the same thing he does.
  6. Great! Hope it fits your needs Let me know how it goes
  7. Never used it, sorry. Perhaps someone else has tried it and can give you their opinion.
  8. If you do find a way to make it work like you want, could you let us know how you did it, so we can help others that may have the same question? Thanks
  9. There are several ways. I suggest you use CSS. The resulting code is cleaner. If you search Google for "css rounded corners" or other combinatios of those keywords (and others) you'll find a lot of reading Here's one that looked easy: http://kalsey.com/2003/07/rounded_corners_in_css/
  10. Sorry, RedHawk. I'm not a *Nuke user so I can't really help you much. From what you describe, it seems to be only a matter of changing a link (editing the HTML or perhaps something in PHPNuke's administration panel?) but since I don't know how PHPNuke works, I have no idea... We do have some *Nuke users on the forums, so hopefully, one of them (or someone else who knows hoe to do that) will probably be able to help you
  11. I'm not sure what you want the script to do but on the other hand I don't know of any scripts that do anything similar to what you described, so I can only suggest you search: "movie theatre script php" are probably better keywords than just "movie"
  12. Glad you found the problem, Ian! Welcome to the family and to the world of blogging
  13. Congratulations, Dick!!
  14. Wayne, that error means the fread() function is being called somewhere with it's second parameter as 0, which is no good. I never used phpwebsite, so I really don't know where to start but maybe someone else here on the forums can help you... Humm... this is just a wild guess but it just occured to me: check that none of the template files you're using are empty or missing. I'm saying this because the error is occurring in a PEAR file from the Template package and since the error is because the length parameter being passed to fread() is 0, then perhaps the PEAR template class is trying to load a non-existant template or a template file that is empty...
  15. I have no idea when it will be fully implemented. I'd say it will work throughout all the 4.x series, or at least through the 4.3.x series. Does anyone know if PHP 5 still supports the old style global variables, like $HTTP_SERVER_VARS? Anyway, you could use some kind of editor or even a tool made specifically for this, to search and replace each and every $HTTP_SERVER_VARS by $_SERVER, etc
  16. It works, Weezy. It's a new feature of IPB 2.0 You simply click the Quote button for every post you want to quote and then you hit the Add Reply button. When you post your reply, you'll have the selected posts quoted automatically. Pretty cool, huh?
  17. Yes, it's easier, but in the long run, I think (actually, I know; been there, done that...) that method brings more problems
  18. I just noticed some of the buttons are still from the old IPB 1.3... EDIT: In case you want to check the look of the 2.0 buttons, I have a clean install of IPB 2.0 here: http://borfast.com/fct/ All posts are in Portuguese, so I'm affraid most of you won't be able to read it but you can still see the buttons
  19. An award? No way! I just like to help out where I can Psst, by the way, that's my bank account number, in that PM I just sent you... :)
  20. IPB 2.0! Yummy! Good work, Mike! Thumbs up
  21. You almost got it: <input type="hidden" name="myarr[]" value="serialized_array" /> The answer is those [ ] in the name attribute. Hope it helps
  22. Yes, I agree. I forgot to mention that! This is a big topic of debate. My personal opinion is that placing the files outside the database is a better strategy, since it places less load on the database server, among some other reasons. Besides, in your case, as rmulhern said, it would be a way to get around this issue
  23. I couldn't find any, sorry...
  24. By the way, $HTTP_POST_FILES is deprecated, you should use $_POST instead
  25. Thanks for the heads-up, Mike! Thumbs Up
