  1. I think the MySQL server is running on the same machine as the user's files. To access the server in a script, I have to set the database server to localhost, so it means the server is running on the same machine. But you should wait for an admin to confirm that.
  2. I like FastStats: http://www.mach5.com/products/analyzer/ I think Webtrends is also pretty good but IIRC, when I was looking for an analyzer, it was too expensive for my taste...
  3. It seems I always forget to ask something... Besides the other questions I posted above (could someone answer them, please?), I have one other question for you about dedicated servers: what exactly do you guys manage in the fully managed packages? Do you only install the OS or do you also install Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc... ? And do you apply patches, etc, or do I have to do it myself? (I suppose I'll have to do these myself...) Thanks again
  4. OK, that's what I thought Just a heads-up: on the dedicated servers page you have: "* Semi-Dedicated Servers are shared with no more than four clients." but you said no more than 5 other clients. If you weren't mistaken, then you have a small error on the dedicated servers page. Anyway, thanks for all the information I'm almost sure I'll buy a semi dedicated account. One last thing I forgot in the last message: If I buy a semi-dedicated server, can I upgrade my account to a normal dedicated server later on? Thanks again *edit* I'm sorry, I forgot one other thing: I suppose that with a dedicated server I can host as many domains as I want, am I correct? On the dedicated servers page it only says "Your Own Domain Name --- YES" so I'm not sure if I can only host one...
  5. OK, I've got one more question about this, since I'm trying to decide whether I go for a dedicated server or not: How does the "semi-dedicated" package works?
  6. Thanks! Heading for the registration now...
  7. Hi everyone. I'm planning on subscribing another account at ***** to use with a .PT (portugal) domain name. I was already making the order when I noticed there's no option for .PT domain in the domain extension list. I suppose there's no problem about hosting a .PT domain with you guys but which option do I chose when specifying my domain name? Thanks in advance.
  8. That's OK, no problem there What I didn't understand was the second answer I received...
  9. OK, I sent the help desk ticket and it was answered: But since David only deleted the /.trash/catalogs directory, I still had the /catalogs directory to delete, so I went ahead and reopened the help desk ticket, explaining the situation and asking them to delete the folder. Here's the answer I got: What do you consider a "true FTP client"? Is the Linux FTP command line client that I used good enough or do I have to use SmartFTP (which I also used and many people on this board seem to love)?... I really didn't get if this answer was ironical or if Mr. Hakim didn't read the previous note I sent, explaining that I also used an FTP client, not only the cPanel's File Manager...
  10. I sent the helpdesk ticket. Thanks again
  11. I did think of that and tried it but it didn't work wither I believe that part of the problem is that inside '/catalogs' there are some folders that are owned by another user - user '502'. For instance, every folder inside '/catalogs/borfast/tmp' is owned by user '502' and I can't delete them. Still, there are directories that are empty and I can't delete them, so that's probably not the whole solution to the problem. For instance '/catalogs/borfast/products' is empty and the server does not allow me to delete it.
  12. I'm not able to delete the /catalogs folder. It's there because of the Interchange installation I did a few days ago and now I want to get rid of it. Since it doesn't have an uninstall feature, I wanted to delete it manually, like I did the last time I installed Interchange. Last time I used cPanel's File Manager to delete the damn thing, but now I'm not able to delete it neither by FTP or through cPanel's File Manager. Trying FTP, the server told me it couldn't delete the folder: "550 catalogs: Directory not empty" When I tried cPanel's File Manager, I noticed that the 'catalogs' folder was still in the trash bin from when I deleted it the last time. I tried emptying the trash bin with no success and if I try to delete the '/catalogs' folder, it tells me: mv: cannot overwrite directory `/home/borfast/.trash/catalogs' So what's the deal with this 'catalogs' folder? Thanks in advance EDIT: I forgot to mention that I can't delete the '/.trash/catalogs' directory by FTP, either. The error is the same from when I try to delete '/catalogs'.
  13. Then I suppose you sugest I'd use Agora?
  14. It's not a big deal since I'm only playing around in order to learn how to work with it so when I come to need it I know what I'm doing. By the way, which one do you think it's best, Interchange or Agora? Anyway, I installed it once again and it's still in http://borfast.com/~borfast/cgi-bin/cart.c...cgi/blablabla... and it seems to be working just fine, now... but there's no /~borfast/ directory on my public_html folder... Also, is there a way to make it work under http://borfast.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/etc... ?
  15. Using command line in Linux and SmartFTP in Windows but that was not the problem. I was not using anonymous@****. I didn't know it had to be done this way. It works, now. Thanks for the help
  16. I was trying to set up anonymous FTP in cPanel. I check the two checkboxes and hit the "Save Settings" button. It seems that everything is just fine but when I try to login as anonymous (user: anonymous ; pass: <just some email address>), I get: 530-Unable to set anonymous privileges. 530 Login incorrect. So what's the problem here? I'm supposing the login is wrong but if it's not like I used it, then what? Thanks in advance!
  17. That's because I've given up waiting for an answer and simply deleted the damn thing from the server.... By the way, why doesn't Interchange have an uninstall option like Agora? It would be really nice to uninstall it by pushing a button, instead of having to delete every folder by hand...
  18. could someone answer, please?...
  19. Hi everyone. I'm having a little problem with Interchange. Here's the whole story: Before the DNS changes had fully propagated, I accessed my website through http://66.246.43.132/~borfast/ and cPanel through http://66.246.43.132/~borfast/cpanel/ Everything was going fine except when I tried to install Interchange. Actually, the instalation went just fine but when I tried to access the admin interface of Interchange, it didn't work because it was using the address "http://borfast.com/~borfast/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/admin/index.html". Since borfast.com still pointed to my old server, I thought the problem was there. A couple of hours ago, borfast.com was already pointing to *****'s server so I went on and tried accessing Interchange admin interface once again but this time the error was the one on this thread's title. I already tried removing "~borfast" from the URL, making it only "http://borfast.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/admin/index.html" but it still doesn't work. Can someone explain to me what's wrong? Thanks in advance.
