  1. It maybe too late but tell the folks at TCH that you want to be on the European servers. Same prices just closer to your location, faster ping times etc. You might want to open a help desk ticket at the top of this page to let them know. youneverknow
  2. I just tried the new google maps and must say I am VERY impressed. The maps are easy to read and the zoom and direction buttons a must try. http://maps.google.com youneverknow

There are some tests you can run yourself and see where you are compared to others...here is the link to the article and tests.(Be sure to turn off pop up blocking on the java script test) http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html youneverknow PS: I think I will stay with Firefox and not Opera
  4. A new exploit that affects all browsers except Internet Explorer. The Address can be spoofed (phishing). 7. I have too many passwords and user names needed to carry out daily functions that I am getting stressed out over all of this. I have to have a password for banking and username for this account I have a password and user name for my voice mail box I have a password and user name for this forum I have a password and user name for my 8 email accounts I have a password and user name for my cell phone and Vonage VOIP I have a password for the Family Only forum I have a password and user name for FTP my web site I have a password and user name for TV Guide on line I have a password even to enter my car. (keyless entry) How do you set up and REMEMBER all of these? I had to re-install windows and Firefox yesterday and of course I got so used to having the auto fill turned on that I had to go through the password recovery for almost all the accounts. I know there are password "Vaults" out there but was wondering if any of you clever folks have come up with a easy to use system that I (over 55 years with failing memory) could try out. Did I mention the passwords needed for Ebay and Paypal and what about the password for.....all those others not even mentioned like the NY times and those sex sites where you don't dare give out your real info....any ideas on a simple soulution would be appreciate. Then they tell you to change your passwords frequently.....Help!!! youneverknow

  14. I went to that site and I'm really mad! Not only could I not close your stupid java script, but it caused a file I was downloading at the time to go to Never ever land. I hope no one else falls for this childish use of bandwidth. I can't believe Bill said: What's with the "Keep up the good work"? youneverknow

  18. I use the free version of Avast anti virus. You might want to check it out here http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Here is a quote from their site: "Automatic updates are another key point in virus protection. Both the virus database and the program itself can be updated automatically. The updates are incremental, i.e. only the new or missing data are downloaded, thus reducing the transfer heavily. The typical size of a virus database update are tens of KB, the program update usually has hundreds of KB. If your Internet connection is persistent, the updates are performed completely automatically in fixed time intervals. If you connect to the Internet only occasionally, avast! watches your connection and tries to perform the update when you are online. Having the up-to-date virus database and antivirus program all the time - it is the most certain way to protect your computer. " youneverknow
  19. GMail Drive Copyright 2004 by Bjarke Vikson GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual drive in the Windows Explorer, allowing you to use your Google GMail account as a storage medium. It allows you to do basic file manipulation, such as copy and delete, on files inside the GMail folder. Because it is a Shell Extension, the interface you work in is Windows Explorer itself. GMail files are physically stored as e-mails on your Google GMail account. The files are stored in mail attachments, and the filename and file information (such as filesize) is stored in the message subject line. GMail Drive has already been installed on your computer. All you need to do now, is to browse to the GMail Drive entry under your My Computer folder in the Windows Explorer. 20. Due to my stupidity I thought 100 megs was a gig but I guess it is 1000 megs= 1 gig? Sorry for the confusion I should have taken metrics in high school but that was over 40 years ago...

  22. Ok...I didn't scroll down far enough...Thanks So If I were to get a "spike " of say 50 megs it would cost me $125 but if I went to the "Expert" package I would only pay $17.50? Can I upgrade to the "Expert" package for just one month and then downgrade back to my "Silver" package after the sale? without any penalties? youneverknow
  23. This is not a pre sales question Sorry if this is not where I should post, but could not find an appropriate forum topic elsewhere...(or on TCH's web site) ...I have been with TCH since 2003 and would never have any one else host my domains. That being said, I may have a lot of traffic soon due to a sale on ebay that requires the buyer to download a large PDF file (300K +) and could not find out how much TCH charges for additional bandwidth. Since this will be a one time "spike" I would not want to "upgrade" to a larger package. Is there a price for say $1.00 for each 4 megs over my normal plan? What if I go way over say by 50 megs. Would I get a bill for $50 or should I send in a support ticket to answer this question? I really would like to know what the charges are for additonal "spikes" in monthly usage. Thanks, youneverknow
