  1. I have searched the forums and could not find an answser to this question.... If I set up a forum using the Invision board do I need to verify new members? ( I think that tch's board uses some sort of email verification process.) I have also seen a verification procedure that requires the new member to validate by entering a code seen just above their e signature on a validation link sent to that email address (to keep down the bot spammers)? Are these options included in the Invision forum or are these add ons? Do I need to filter out new members or is it ok to use the forum "as is" and moderate it constantly. I like the idea of a forum... but was wondering how one can keep it respectable. thanks for any input you can give me and Rock Sign
  2. Thank goodness for Linux! I think I'm confusing it with frontpage extentions. I know I have those installed on my site. Thanks for the heads up.
  3. Saw this on the ms site: Microsoft has released a security update to Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP. This security update offers the highest level of stability and the highest level of enhanced security that is available for FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions. This security update fixes an issue in FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions that could allow an attacker to send a specially formed request that could cause a temporary denial of service http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...in/MS03-051.asp Is this something that TCH needs to install on their servers? I use FP and this caught my attention. Thanks for your attention, Thumbs Up
  4. Congratulations Jim...Welcome to the family
  5. Not sure if in the right discusson group but here I am. If I go to cpanel in IE ver 6+ and click AW stats I get this: 12-228-195-135.client.attbi.com - youneve [26/Oct/2003:10:58:17 -0600] "GET /frontend/bluelagoon/branding/top_01_1.gif HTTP/1.1" 304 0 "http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html"'>http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html"'>http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html"'>http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html"'>http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; MyIE2)" 12-228-195-135.client.attbi.com - youneve [26/Oct/2003:10:58:17 -0600] "GET /frontend/bluelagoon/branding/top_02_1.gif HTTP/1.1" 304 0 "http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; MyIE2)" 12-228-195-135.client.attbi.com - youneve [26/Oct/2003:10:58:18 -0600] "GET /frontend/bluelagoon/branding/top_02_4.gif HTTP/1.1" 304 0 "http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; MyIE2)" 12-228-195-135.client.attbi.com - youneve [26/Oct/2003:10:58:18 -0600] "GET /frontend/bluelagoon/branding/top_03_2.gif HTTP/1.1" 304 0 "http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; MyIE2)" 12-228-195-135.client.attbi.com - youneve [26/Oct/2003:10:58:18 -00 "http://www.youneverknow.com:2082/frontend/bluelagoon/index.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; MyIE2)" HTTP/1.0 200 OK Server: cpaneld/8.0 Connection: close Content-type: text/html Viewed in OPERA I see the stats just fine. 6. I am not an expert but I think that if you use FP and have the extentions installed on the server then you MUST upload via FP's http method and not upload using ftp. Since the FP xtentions are corrupted I think you need to re install the extention via the Cpanel... Hope this helps. ..DougFront FrontPage Extensions Warning: It is recommended that you DO NOT install FrontPage Extensions on your account unless you intend to publish your site directly from the FrontPage application. 7. I really think the head guru should take the cpanel demo off the tch web site. I am sure many potential customers jump to another hosting company when they see a non working link on a hosting companies web site. I know that this demo is not hosted by tch but people get the impression it is. How about a comment that this demo is under the control of others and not tch. I almost went to another host when I was shopping around for a new one. It was not until I read all the glowing comments that swayed me here and I am glad Thumbs Up I did. Other than that my first month experience here with 2 sites has been a great. Rock Sign
  8. Then perhaps you should take it off. As a prosective customer to your hosting service it would seem you would want everything on your Home Page to work. It gives the impression that maybe YOUR SERVERS are not working and that is not the case. No where does it say that clicking the demo button will take you out of tch's web page. A bit confusing for us novices. Thanks, Doug Still Rock Sign
  9. I wonder if the folks at TCH know that the Control Panel Demo takes you to a non-existant page. Right on the Home page there is a place for new customers to try out the cpanel. When you click the link and then hit the demo button you get a page cannot be displayed error. If I were TCH I would make sure that it functions properly. Maybe they know nothing about this problem? Other than that I really like the personal service that they give you whether you are a $4 or $26 account. Rock Sign Thanks Doug of http://youneverknow.com
