Hi Michéal, There are a lot of programs/scripts that you can use. I think you might find that your best luck is with a CMS like Website Baker, or Joomla, or something similar. They have pre-designed login scripts and pre-designed content management so all you have to do is enter your content and it gets published. You can restrict your information to people who are logged in, and you can restrict who can get accounts. There are a number of gret CMS programs that are available to you in the CMS section of Fantastico on cPanel. I recommend that you check some of those out (they are SUPER easy to install and uninstall for testing purposes) and see if they don't meet your needs. If you have trouble with them or want help on a specific feature on one of them, then post back and let us help you however we can. Best wishes.

Iván, From this post, it sounds like you are unaware of what Firefox is. It isn't a graphics program, it is an alternative web browser. While most of the world uses Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser to look at web pages, there are other alternatives out there. Many people in the TCH forums use a program called Firefox from Mozilla (http://www.getfirefox.com) for looking at web pages instead of using Internet Explorer. I'm sorry if this is coming across as too Neophyte-ish, but from your posts, it sounds like you may not be entirely familiar with the Firefox program. So what Bruce is saying is that any website visitor that is using the newest patch of Microsoft Internet Explorer will see the boxes around any Flash object. Since your buttons are individual flash elements, there will be a box around each on separately. This is a security control so that Flash elements won't start without your permission. They are trying to give control of the security of a website to the website visitor. If, however, your website visitors are using a different browser, like Firefox, Netscape, Opera, or Safari (to name a few), they won't see the boxes around the menu items. One way you could deal with this is to make all the menu items part of one Flash animation, so that users only had to click on the area once to activate it. But you would still have to activate the controls on every page. Best case scenario here is probably going to be moving away from using Flash animation for your menu items. I hope this explanation helps. If you already knew all of this, then don't hate me for trying to explain something you already knew! Best wishes.

But I think that submitting a video to Google Video is inherently different than using Google's G-drive. I expect that files uploaded to Google Video are temporary in nature. The G-drive thing doesn't sound like that, to me at least. In fact, the privacy police are more concerned that Google WILL store it for a long time.

Anand, Welcome to the forums! If you have any questions about if a certain script would be allowed, I'd recommend that you contact the help desk, or send a PM to one of the RED staff members. They should be able to respond to specific scripts that would be allowed or disallowed as per the AUP. Don't be a stranger in the forums!

*Paul goes out on a limb here... Have you tried looking at your error log to see what file is trying to be called but can't be seen? Heck, it probably doesn't even throw an error. So this probably wouldn't work.

Parked and forwarded are two different ways to arrive at similar results. Parked domains have nameservers that point to the same nameservers as your main domain (ns#.totalchoicehosting.com) or whatever. A parked domain functions as a normal domain. It can have email addresses, subdomains, etc. When a user goes to your parkeddomain/folder1, it is as if they are going to your maindomain/folder1. The parked domain name is always shown in the URL. A forwarded domain's nameservers point to the registrar's site, and then users are forwarded to your website. TCH requires that if you forward a domain, you forward it to the root level of your account, i.e. it has to point to your site's main index.html page. Forwarded domains usually can't have an e-mail address or subdomains, as the registrar's forwarder doesn't often know how to handle them. I have found that parking my domains has always been the best option for me. As for your Google question, I can't help you there. Best luck.

I think the blue lagoon theme is the easiest to find stuff. I had the default theme and I could never find the links I needed. Switching to the blue lagoon theme made it much easier to find cPanel's features.

Hi Sam; welcome to the forums. Another clarification. The wysiwyg editor in cPanel was disabled a couple of months ago, so while you can use cPanel to edit the HTML code for a file, you currently can't use the online wysiwyg editor (AFAIK; there hasn't been an announcement in the forums stating that the wysiwyg editor has been reactivated...) You'll probably need to look for a script for something like this on hotscripts or something. Basically you're going to run some script that gets a list of pages from an array and knows where to go to get the next one. Yes, it is possible, but I think you might want to check hotscripts first before you try to code this yourself. Best wishes.

I stopped using "web-safe" colors exculsivley a couple of years ago. I've never had anybody complain. Just like I stopped creating 640x480 websites and nobody has complained. (I still try for 800x600 though...

All my domains are registered with an external registrar, so I'm not sure how it would work with the TCH registrar, Wild West Domains. However, I assume that there is a control panel that you can log in to. Once there, you should look for a domain forwarding option (maybe near the same location where you enter your nameservers). Most registrars do not charge a fee for domain forwarding (although some might. I don't know about Wild West). On the domain forwarding page, you'd type in your correctly spelled, TCH hosted domain. Borrowing from my previous example, you would enter: >http://www.example.com Just remember that unless you have a reseller account with TCH, any links to a site or subdomain within example.com would be a violation of the TCH AUP, and would result in either a stern warning or possible site suspension. That means, you CANNOT use any entries similar to the forwarding option: www.example.com/photos photos.example.com You have to point the public_html folder on your account, which you do by entering: www.example.com Hope that is clear. Write back if you have any questions. Somebody that uses TCH their registrar can then answer more specific questions about how to forward a domain within that control panel. Best wishes.

Salguod, When you consider domain parking, you should remember that the parked domain will always show in the URL, if that is the domain the user entered into the browser. For example, lets say you have two domains: example.com and exampel.com (a misspelling of the original). Example.com is the main domain, and exampel.com is parked on the domain. If a user enters exampel.com into the browser, that URL will be displayed for all site pages the user visits. So when they follow relative links off the main page, they will go to something like exampel.com/photos (or whatever). The question I have about that is this: Do you want to have that occur? The danger in it is it LOOKS like your site IS spelled as exampel.com. All the pages they link to will have exampel.com as part of the URL. This will cause you problems with e-mail, unless you create a forwarder with the parked domain for ever e-mail address on the main domain. This means that if you have john.doe@example.com as an email address, but a user thinks your domain is really exampel.com, and they try to send a message to john.doe@exampel.com, the message will fail because there IS no account for john.doe@exampel.com. In order for john.doe@exampel.com to work, you would have to create a forwarder for john.doe@exampel.com to forward to john.doe@exampel.com. Does that makes sense? If you are okay with that, then great. No problem. Park away and enjoy. If, however, you decide that you don't want to legitimize the misspelling of your domain, you have a couple of options. First, you can modify your domain with your registrar to set up URL forwarding. They would basically park the domain on their server, and point all users to your main domain at TCH. This is NOT a violation of the TCH policy as long as the domain points to the root of your main account. (The same effect as parking your domain, but in this case, the main domain url is always shown to the end user.) Second, you could make all the links on your main page be static links to the main domain. So instead of having the follwing code: ><a href="/photos/index.php">Photo album</a> you would use the following code: [code ] <a href="http://www.example.com/photos/index.php">Photo album</a> [/code] A third option that I don't know much about would be to park your domain at TCH, and then use commands in your .htaccess file to make sure the main domain (in this case, example.com) is always shown in the URL. If that is the route you want to go, write back and an .htaccess expert will help you write the code to make that work for you. Hope this additional, unasked for, information is helpful.
