Welcome to the family, Ellen.

HTML is HyperText Markup Language, xHTML is eXtensible HyperText Markup Language and CSS is Cascading Style Sheets. You can use CSS with HTML and xHTML. It is a document the provides how the HTML and xHTML tags are supposed to appear when being displayed. If you do not have a document type definition (DTD) specified in your pages then it will be treated as regular HTML. There is a really good site where you can find out the differences between the HTML, xHTML, XML and other document types. Check out http://www.w3schools.com

Let me see if I can get you some help.

You need to open a Help Desk ticket to support. The tech guys do not monitor the forums and the mods do not have access to your account or the servers. Thank you.
-
You are correct Bob. He should open a Help Desk ticket and have his password changed so he can login to cPanel.

Have you updated the phpBB? See this thread

Welcome to the forums. 1. SSH is disabled on shared servers. SSH would be available to you on a dedicated server. 2. At this time Fantastico is not provided. Not to say it won't be in the future.

Now wasn't that easy? Thumbs Up

You could just purchase a new domain and have it parked over top of the one you currently have. Then people can enter your new or old domain name and get to your site. To park the new domain open a Help Desk ticket. (link above)

666 gives write permissions to everybody. Why does it need to have execute permissions as well??? Because it's a folder and not a file is the reason for 777. For anyone to be able to write to a folder it has to be 777.

I'm sorry you are missing email. But the forums are not monitored by staff and are not for one on one support. The Mods do not have access to the servers. Please open a Help Desk ticket to support. They are the only ones that can help with server issues. Thank you.

I'm sorry, don't have an answer for you. We have many FP users and I am sure one of them will be by soon with an answer. Welcome to the family, John

- means what in laymans terms!? If I right click my board logo, I can select properties, but I cant alter anything! Bring up your forum. With the mouse right-click on the Invision logo and select properties. It will show you the path to the file logo.jpg. Now create your image that you want to replace their image with. Name it logo.jpg If you don't know how to use the FTP program to log in that's fine. You can use the cPanel FileManager program to upload the logo.jpg file. Open FileManager in cPanel. Browse to the location (folder) for the logo.jpg file you found when you right clicked and looked at the properties above.

Welcome to the family Mark. Perhaps this thread will help you.

Don't have an answer but have more questions. You read your Yahoo mail with a web broswer, right? How do you read your TCH mail? With webmail or email client? If an email client, do you have filters set in your email program that would delete the message without ever showing it to you. I have several filters set up in my email client to delete messages from the server without ever downloading them.

Thomas you have confused me. Using your example. If you have tchthomas.com and tchtompas.com parked on top of it. Any subdomains you create in thcthomas would also be accessible to tchtompas.com So if you entered h**p://store2.tchtomaps.com it would take you to store2.tchthomas.com.

Checking Mail Without Entering Cpanel

Jim, they probably aren't FF problems. Just that IE doesn't log you out and the posts remain unread when I return. I am not put off reading the forum with IE. I always have my FF open while reading and copy/paste links into it for viewing.

Is Robert old enough to drink?

Welcome to the family, Matt!

Oh, but I did Lisa. Removed my profile after uninstalling FF and started from scratch. On this machine and the one I use at work. No go. No problem. I can still use IE for this site and the other forum I frequent. Maybe that's the problem. I read the forum from 3 different machines regularly and others if I am at my folks or wife's folks. But it's not a problem.
