Yes, I assumed that. I was trying to clarify that a subdomain is nothing more than a folder within the domain space. To access a gallery, blog or what ever else you want as a subdomain you should do the following: 1. Create a subdomain in cPanel - cPanel will create the folder (ie: photo, blog, gallery, etc...) 2. Install the gallery or blog software into the "folder" created in the subdomain function You can then access your install using yourdomain.ext/folder or folder.yourdomain.ext I don't know if that clears it up either.

Welcome to the forums Anita Well, not much to go on but I'll take a stab at it. Without an error message and what script you are trying to run it will be a guess at best. Did you upload the script in ASCII mode versus Binary? Did you change the permissions to 755 for the scipt to be executable? Without more information there's not much more I can offer.

If you are crashing a shared server you will most likely crash a semi-dedicated server as well. It is a simple request to upgrade by opening a ticket with the help desk. I would start to consider upgrading to a dedicated server if your forum continues to grow.

They are the same as long as you create the subdomain without creating the folder first. The subdomain function will create the folder of the same name. If the folder is created first when you go to the link photos.whatever.ext it will change in the browser to whatever.ext/photos

No, don't install it into your root folder. Create the subdomain called "photos". When installing Coppermine in Fantastico enter "photos" into the box for the folder to install it into. www.dan...us/photos is the same as photos.danvo...us

If you create the subdomain first called photos when you are installing enter "photos" into the box Peter is referring to above. A subdomain is nothing more than a folder in your webspace. And do not create the "photos" folder manually. Let the subdomain create function create it.

I don't think you will ever see this happen. The forwards are stored in a system file called aliases. It is a text file. Deleting and adding records is quite simple. Editing would be a real hassel. Your account has an email address on the server but it is not associated to your domain. You should not be using this address for domain email. This is the address the system uses to report errors to you about your account.

You just go back into cPanel where you made your back up and select to restore a DB. Browse your computer for the file and select it. If it fails, you can upload the file somewhere in your web space and open a ticket with the help desk and ask them to restore it for you.

One more thing, your default email address is not: your-cpanelname@your-domain.ext it is in fact: your-cpanelname@serverXX.tchmachines.com Maybe that will help clear it up.

It is a real account but you cannot forward mail to it if you set the default address to :fail: When you use :fail: for your default address it says any email not addressed to your main account (or valid email addresses) should be bounced. Since you are forwarding an email to that account, the email is not intended for that account. There is no header in the email that says your main account so it is being bounced. The default email address is a catch all account. Using :fail: bypasses the catchall for any accounts that are not defined. I don't know anyone that uses their main cpanel account name as an email address.

There are no plans for Majordomo.

Setting your default account to :fail: means you no longer have a default account. Your cpanel ID is not a valid email address any longer. You will need to set up at least one REAL email account and you can forward to that. When you set the default to :fail: you in essence said anything I don't have an account created for bounce.

You can modify the user_prefs file in the .spamassassin folder of your account. Check out Spamassassin.org.
