  3. All of our servers run Linux so we're not bothered by all of the security holes....errr. I mean bugs in windows.
  4. I've never paid for anything like that, but what I would do is get the details worked out and get a FIRM price and payment arrangements and then you and them both sign it. The price has already changed once and you havent even done anything yet.
  5. have them do everything locally, I just set up phpdev on my PC and it works like a charm. I can set up everything locally, even sql databases and make sure i have everything like i want it, then just upload
  6. I cant speak for everyone, but I am on the live support chat from 8AM-12PM and then again 2PM-6pm CST mon, wed, and thursday and the 8AM-4PM fri, sat and sunday. And i am on AOL instant messanger and Yahoo instant messenger any time that I am awake, if you send me a message via one of the messengers and I dont answer, I've either stepped away from the PC for a few minutes, or had to step out and run to the bank or something. Some of our support techs are in the UK, so they work what would be the night shift in the states.
  7. Hi, exactly what type of advice are you looking for?
  8. You dont have to register the domain name with us, or pay any extra fees. On the sign up form it will ask for the domain name, then on the next step there is an option that says something like "I own this domain and will transfer it myself" select that option and finish the sign up, then all you need to do is go to where you registered the domain name, log in and change the DNS setting to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com
  9. I started a blog last night, it is all of you ppls fault I will have even LESS free time now I used MT by the way
  10. I use WS FTP, and for host name all I have to enter is mysite.com, it doesnt work if I enter ftp.mysite.com
  11. Well, Frontpage is bad about adding code also, although it usually still works. I use araneae, it doesnt add anything and its easy to use, and best of all it's free! . You can get it from http://www.araneae.com/
  12. Great, welcome to the family. I'm just glad you didnt ask me to leap any tall buildings, I'm getting to old for that
  13. The file manager in cPanel is'nt my first choice for editing HTML, it's been known to add code you dont want added. Your better off with a good text editor and an FTP program.
  14. As far as I know transfering them to TCH would put them in your name, from the response you quoted from them that would seem to be the case. If you couldnt transfer them to your name they would have said "sorry you cant transfer the domains"
  15. You can get your transfer started here There is a $10.95 charge per domain name you want to transfer. Since the old host doesnt use the same type/brand of cPanel that we use, yes you'll need to transfer your files to our server manually.
  16. http://www.google.com/technology/
  17. Ok one more. If I use the short form? (e.g. /forum) How would you point to a subdomin so it shows as http://www.forum.mysite.com intead of http://www.mysite.com/forum
  18. You will have two seperate accounts, two domain names and two plans = two different accounts.
  19. Just go to My Controls and then Board Settings and adust the time zone to your local time. This will make all posting times relevant to your local time.
  20. Thanks for all the help. I found ths on Google I guess as long as your code is correct Google will follow it.
  21. Yes, but I was also looking at it from a design point of view. I guess since either way will take visitors to the page, I should probally focus on the SEO part. No frames, I have tried my best to stay away from frames. I have used all tables. To be honest I'm new at this and not sure what the difference is. I just have read so many things that say tables are better than frames.
  22. What is the best way to setup internal links? Should I piont pages by using /index.html or h**p://www.mysite.com/index.html?
  23. Yes, you have to provide a link for it on your site if you want visitors to be able to sign it
  24. Ok I got it to display correctly in Opera by adding padding: 0px; but DW still gives me the warning. WC3 approves it as HTML 4.01 Transitional, so I guess I will just let it ride for now. I can't seem to find any info on how to correct it. This might be just sometthing to do with DW.
  25. I checked it in Opera 7.2 and it diplays fine but does not adjust the margins for the styles. And it has the closing tag.
