  1. The system is brand new, it has been in place less than 24 hours there is more than likely going to be a few hiccups along the way to getting it perfect.
  2. You cant go to the IP address alone to view your site, you have to go to IPaddress/~username
  3. Regarding the spell check, theres only one hack that I can find for IPB that adds a spell check function. It only works with IE and requires that you download a program called IE Spell. The problem is, if you download IE spell you don't NEED the spell check hack on the forums, IE spell will spell check it anyway. You can download IE spell at www.iespell.com it's actually a pretty nice program if you are an IE user and it is free. It works on any page you enter info on.
  4. Yup, its possible, we do it every day. Like Bruce said, drop us a help desk ticket and we'll take care of it.
  5. I think everyone will like the new system once we get it fully integrated...its really good stuff!!
  6. If the virus has been sending out e-mail through your TCH account that could explain some of the bandwidth since e-mail does count towards your total bandwidth use. You can look in cpanel and get an ideas of where your bandwidth is going.
  7. If anyone has a problem with the forum codes not working, bold, quote, italics etc. please reply here and include the forum you were posting in when it didnt work. Also if you could test them in private messages it would be appreciated!
  8. Just test quoting here quoting here, too. quoted here works 4 me ! Thumbs Up OMG! its a chain quote It didn't quote once for me today but it is now! Dont quote me on this but I think it is working now. I think you might be right!
  9. Its not that the servers are full, or that we have run out of room. If we were like pretty much every other host out there we could cram a few hundred more sites on each server. 55 servers X 300 =16,500 more sites. But, when you start doing that the network slows down, the servers slow down, people start complaining that their site is loading slow (and it should load slow with 700-1000 sites all crammed on the server) I cant give you actual numbers (I'll leave that up to Bill if he wants to tell) but TCH hosts FAR less than that amount above per server.
  10. Make sure front page is the default HTML editor
  11. Just an FYI, these problems started BEFORE the MyDoom Virus, I talked with them through a help desk ticket over a week ago. The e-mails are in fact being sent from their computer, figuring out what is sending them and killing the process is the problem.
  12. You get to pick your office, just move your computer to any room in you house that you like
  13. open sessions.php and page_header.php in notepad and make sure there arent any spaces after the closing >
  14. Welcome the always helpfull PDABruce (now known as TCH-Bruce) to the mod team!!!!
  15. Note: Removing this adware component from the system will likely cause the program that installed it to not function as intended. The uninstaller generally identifies the programs that will not work after uninstallation. Before you begin: The adware that we detect as Adware.Ncase is produced by 180Solutions, which provides removal instructions on their Web page at: http://www.180solutions.com/Consumers/ You may want to follow their removal instructions first, and then follow the instructions below to make sure that all the elements have been removed. 1. Update the virus definitions. 2. Delete the value that was added to the registry. Restart the computer. 3. Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as Adware.Ncase. 1. Updating the virus definitions Symantec Security Response fully tests all the virus definitions for quality assurance before they are posted to our servers. There are two ways to obtain the most recent virus definitions: * Running LiveUpdate, which is the easiest way to obtain virus definitions: These virus definitions are posted to the LiveUpdate servers once each week (usually on Wednesdays), unless there is a major virus outbreak. To determine whether definitions for this threat are available by LiveUpdate, refer to the Virus Definitions (LiveUpdate). * Downloading the definitions using the Intelligent Updater: The Intelligent Updater virus definitions are posted on U.S. business days (Monday through Friday). You should download the definitions from the Symantec Security Response Web site and manually install them. To determine whether definitions for this threat are available by the Intelligent Updater, refer to the Virus Definitions (Intelligent Updater). The Intelligent Updater virus definitions are available: Read "How to update virus definition files using the Intelligent Updater" for detailed instructions. 2. Deleting the value from the registry WARNING: Symantec strongly recommends that you back up the registry before making any changes to it. Incorrect changes to the registry can result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Modify the specified keys only. Read the document, "How to make a backup of the Windows registry," for instructions. Note: This is done to make sure that all the keys are removed. They may not be there if the uninstaller removed them. 1. Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.) 2. Type regedit Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.) 3. Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 4. In the right pane, delete the value: "msbb"="[path]\msbb.exe" 5. Delete the following registry keys: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\nCASE * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\msbb * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\180solutions 6. Exit the Registry Editor. 7. Restart the computer. 3. Scanning for and deleting the infected files 1. Start Norton AntiVirus and make sure that it is configured to scan all the files. For more information, read the document, "How to configure Norton AntiVirus to scan all files." 2. Run a full system scan. 3. If any files are detected as infected with Adware.Ncase, click Delete.

  24. I can not send out e-mails. Why? My password does not work. What am I to do? Error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'youraccount', Server: 'www.******', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E Outlook: The host '******' could not be found. Account: 'yourdomain', Server: 'yourdomain', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Command unknown: AUTH', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number I can not send out e-mails. Why? The Outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication. If you are using Outlook Express you should check the box 'My server requires authentication'. In Eudora it is 'Authentication allowed'. Your SMTP (outgoing mail server) could be blocked. Here is how to test it: 1. Go to 'Start' -> 'Run' -> type: cmd 2. When the Command prompt appears type: telnet mail.****** 25 and then press enter 3. Wait a few seconds. You must see the following: '220-serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com ESMTP'. This will be OK. 4. If you do not see this message, your SMTP is being blocked. In this case try the following: - If you are behind a firewall, we may be unable to authenticate you. If you have a personal firewall, try lowering the security. - Call your ISP and ask if they block people sending through remote SMTP's. Some are doing that, though relatively few. - You can use your ISP's SMTP server. In your email client, put the SMTP server that you use to send out your ISP email, and your email will still appear with your domain name. Also see the error messages explanations. back to top My password does not work. What am I to do? Go to your hosting account control panel and change the mailbox password. Make sure that you're logging in with a lowercase user id and a case sensitive password. Open a new problem ticket to contact the support if all else fails. back to top Error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'youraccount', Server: 'www.******', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E You are on a an ISP (such as Earthlink or Mindspring) that blocks their users using any SMTP server other than their own. Your solution is as follows: To set up Earthlink, Mindspring, or your ISP's SMTP servers for your outgoing email you must click on your account settings in the email client you are using (Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape etc.) In the SMTP (outgoing mail server) field you will enter smtp.earthlink.net (or whatever your dial up or direct access ISP's SMTP server is) as your SMTP server. You must then enter your Earthlink (or your ISP's) username and password for that mail server. In Outlook Express it is at the bottom of that same tab. You must uncheck 'My server requires authentication' and click on 'settings' to enter your Earthlink (or your ISP's) username and password. Your email will still be from your own domain name, the only difference is in the way it is routed throughout the Internet. Instead of being sent through our servers it is processed through Earthlink (or your ISP's) servers. This allows Earthlink (or your ISP) to monitor its users. back to top Outlook: The host '******' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. 25. You should change the DNS to point to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com, once you do that it will take 24-72 hours for DNS to propagate throughout the internet. Until propagation is complate you wont be able to publish your site VIA domain name, so for FTP host address you would need to use serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com the XX's being the number of the server you are on.
