I'm not where I can do much research on it, but have you tried: mymail.juliecalkins.com/sqmail yet? That should jump to the right place for you. Without the sqmail ending it is trying to go to a website that is at the subdomain and you don't have one, apparently.

Google question about new "Florida" ranking.

That may be beacuse of the new "Stemming" that they are doing where game, games, gaming are all considered the same thing. -
Must not have been Key West, Florida. Here's one link h**p://www.weathertoday.net/weatherfacts/coldest_temps_desc.php that shows the extremes recorded as 41-95. Miami has been down to 30 but we are surrounded by the water and the gulf stream is near. In the winter they are having summer in the southern hemisphere and all that warm water comes right by here. The opposite is true in the summer so we don't get the extremes of the concrete jungle 150 miles north of here. Being on a 2 mile by 4 mile island in the middle of the ocean has it's advantages... and disadvantages. While everyone is shovelling snow remember this - we are supposed to be having radical global warming that will melt the polar icecaps ... yeah, right!

Google question about new "Florida" ranking.

I'm beginning to think it was less of a flippant comment and possibly stone cold serious. I was doing well on all of my sites and great on a couple and some are still great and the rest went screwy. It's not like my SEO style or knowledge changed that much from one to the other so I don't understand. The thing is that the #1 site is an ugly little site with nearly hidden text and about 6 bazillion topics from hotels to scuba on it - certainly not focused on fishing. I'm trying to see why it works but from the design I have to think it was by accident that they are #1. -
Woohoo! Welcome to the family! You'll love it here and if you need anything just ask... but you already know that! Welcome home. Thumbs Up

Ty, Do you have a link that shows us the messed up version? It may help figure out what's happening.

The thing I like most about spybot is the immunization - it's real nice to see a message box say "I blocked this evil sucker"!

Here's an interesting question (to me anyway). On www.grandslamkw.com I have been fighting since the "Florida" algorithm change to get the site towards the top. For the term "Key West Fishing" it went from 37 to greater than 200. My question is - why am I number one for "Key West hammerhead shark" and "Key West hammerhead shark fishing" but #4 for "Key West Hammerhead" and way down the list (I stopped at page 7) for "Key West Hammerhead Fishing"? There seems to be a pattern here but I'm not exactly sure what it is. Also, is my ranking based more on how much competition there is for the phrase, the fact I have "Hammerhead shark" bolded and inside a link to an internal page, my meta tags (doubt it, hammerhead's not even in there) or something totally random having to do with the phase of the moon and the checksum of all the words on my site that are blue? I didn't say it would be an easy question, just an interesting one.

I just don't understand what you folks are talking about. Is it a new invention or something. Where I live we have never seen this stuff called snow (except the illegal kind), an ice storm is what happens at a picnic after you put ice down a friend's back and a blizzard is a desert treat from Dairy Queen. In fact, it's never been below 41 degrees Farenheit here either. But then again, I live in Key West, Florida. I knew there was a reason I came here! I grew up in Louisville, KY and I certainly know what all that stuff is - I just haven't seen any in over 10 years and don't miss it! I can see snow on my windows desktop if I want and that is all it is ever good for - looking at! I guess you don't have hurricanes in Missouri, eh?

Nick, You would think Direct TV would be on top from the external links alone but they don't have our secret weapon! Scott rules!

Wow, I just decided to download it for a kick because you mentioned it, savaka. I'm always looking for good tools Anyway, I use Dreamweaver 4 and occasionally Homesite but I think I am about to dump them all. I really really like what I see right off the bat. It's kind of overwhelming because it can do so much but I love that customizability of my tools. Thanks for the suggestion!

$var++ will post increment the var by 1. $var += 3 will post increment the var by 3. $var + 3 will use the value 3 higher than the original. Your example of array[$var+3] should be fine. If you are totally stumped you could do $temp=$var+3 then use array[$temp] Hope it helps.

I know you didn't just say that!

Maybe Google was in a flux or something. That's exactly what I tried earlier and got nothing. I just now tried it and got the same as you, Scott. Google's posessed!

Alan, and all, I just found out that I made a mistake in one of my answers... The post at a Previous Post says the AUP changes to Also see This Post for even more clarification with an example. This means that you can use subdomains for friends and family as long as you are not selling space and don't point other domain names to your subdomains! Sorry for my mistake. We'll get the online AUP edited as soon as possible.

Then let me be the first to say... Welcome to the family!

I just read in another thread that the emails are something the gang is working on. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

As I understand it, the email notifications only work if you Log Out of the forums. If you just close your browser or navigate away then it thinks you are logged in and doesn't need to send the notification. I may be wrong but it doesn't appear to me that Squort.com has been indexed by Google. They do, however, appear to have your old cruzers pages indexed so make sure that's not causing the confusion.

Sometimes a straight answer is difficult to come up with due to a lot of things but it is good if we can give one I'm happy to help - if you need anything just ask - there are some of the best website owners in the world in these forums so someone will be able to help and we all are happy to do so.

1.) Do you allow Personal Sites? Absolutely! 2.) Can I give subdomain/e-mail(s) out to my friends/Family? Which will link to their sites. From the AUP: "You may not conduct hostee or offer free web hosting to people based on your subdomains. " So the answer would be no since each person would have their own web space. 3.) Can I have my Pay-For-Sales and Pay-per-Click Affiliates Banners and other links on my pages? Yes. Any legal business that does not violate the TOS or AUP (links below) are ok. Some packages are very CPU intensive, though, so we may have you stop using it if it becomes a problem on our servers but they are pretty doggone tough so it would have to be a very big or very inefficient program to do that. We usually have no problems at all. Banners and links are fine so you shouldn't have any problems with them at all. 4.) Do you allow PHP,PHP-Nuke Coding, and the use of Dreamweaver aswell as Flash? Yes to all. In fact, PHP-Nuke is one of our one-button install packages if you are starting fresh or you can transfer your existing one here if you'd rather do that. 5.) Are their **ANY** restrictions on filesize/filetype/number of files, I can upload to my site? Other than Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and bandwidth/disk size limits per your package, no. Read the TOS and AUP though because we do not allow warez and some other types of files. An example of prohibited site content would be: Material which encourages the commission of a crime; or which tends to incite violence; or which tends to degrade any person or group based on sex, nationality, religion, color, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability or political affiliation. The TOS is at http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-terms.html and the AUP is at http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-aup.html Hope to see you around!

Remember with a subdomain, if it was set up using the default method, you will have to put your web pages under mainfolder/public_html/subfolder/ For example, your sub domain's main page may be /public_html/test/index.html

I showed it to the sole mac holdout here at my company and the look on her face as well as her words afterwards said it was totally true
-
Yeah, what they said. I also just created it and it made the directory for me - no redirection necessary.
