I installed Ubuntu on the 2nd drive in my desktop and later grabbed the kubuntu-desktop and it works great! Everything is smooth and runs very happily on my system. The choice of desktop packages is nice if you don't have a favorite and want to play with both.

Samantha, I use PDF995 quite a bit at work and it works fine. Annoying popup window and all. Open Office is a good alternative if you are allowed to use it. At work we have some restrictions but that's what I use at home. Of course, it's not so easy if what you want to pdf-ize isn't a word processor, spreadsheet, etc document. PDF995 would work in anything you were trying to print where OO may not.

But don't put a lot of faith in the Google Page Rank - no one else does, not even Google!

That's an assumption that may not be true. We live in a very diverse world here and with all the made up names you can never tell who's native-English speaking. If your second language is sign language, are you still called bilingual?

Hi Matthew, In a PC application I'd mark the seat "Tentatively reserved" when she clicks it and then "Permanently reserved" when she checks out. Then you could periodically go through and if they aren't still working (session still active?)on it you could "unreserve" the Tentative ones. Not too sure how to do this in a web environment - a timed script or session timeouts, etc - but it may get you going in the right direction. Hope it helps!

I agree, Carbonize, that there is a need for things like tables, but it should be to do tables, not layout. There will always be an argument about tables vs css too. Someone, somewhere will not want to spend the time to learn CSS (or perhaps doesn't have the time to spend) and will get mad instead of getting educated and will spew how evil it is. In my case, I love CSS because when my Pastor comes to me and says "Jim, let's put some fall colors on the website." it's only 4 lines I need to change instead of 40 files.

That's true, Carbonize. Here at work we have a virus solution... we spend more time releasing legit emails than we would deleting spam.

Hi Rowan. I doubt if any of the debuggers can be user-installed into your account only -- you'd probably need shell access to do that and that is not offered here. One thing you could do perhaps is to load a php interpreter on your computer at home and debug the script there if your script will run that way. If the part of the script you are having trouble with is not too big then you can probably post it here and some of our PHP expert family members may be able to help too. I'm also moving this thread to the Scripting Talk forum so it will get better exposure among the script guys.

I found a really useful combination of tools that has helped a lot at work for our people who attract spyware programs to their systems. HijackThis! is a program that goes through your system and creates a log of all the registry entries for non-standard stuff such as spyware toolbars and programs that start up with the computer. You can get it at http://merijn.org/downloads.html but be careful, you can really hurt yourself with it if you delete the wrong thing, but that's where Part II comes in! If you copy your HijackThis log and paste it on the Help2Go Detective, it will go through and tell you the bad things and why they are bad, the questionable things, and how to remove the stuff that should go. The Detective is at http://help2go.com/modules.php?name=HJTDetective I have had only good success with this combination but as I said, be careful... if you delete a windows system service or something it could result in a non-bootable machine. The Detective has never told me to remove anything that I shouldn't and I trust it completely, but always use common sense and err on the safe side if you have any doubts. Hope it helps!

Loren, I use the method Bruce outlines above with Gmail for one of my clients. It works fine and isn't hard to set up. Unfortunately, if spammer.com sends emails to your-tch-domain.com and then you forward it to AOL then they just say your-tch-domain.com is spamming them and would block you and all other customers on that server. Bottom line, they are too lazy to actually look at the headers and see where it originated. I guess they figure it would not be in their best interest to block a "major" email service like Gmail. Go figure.

That is cool. Thanks for the link. I wonder how much like reality that is. We have so many theories about black holes and dark matter and such and no proof. I wonder if we are totally wrong about it. I read (link below) that dark matter had to exist for the formulas of Newtonian physics to work out, but that there are now scientists who say that General Relativity explaines it very well and that there is no need for "dark matter" to exist.
