  2. Yes please! A friend of mine was going to write me a perl script but he needed my table structure for the mt DB and it would take that & dump the db into a csv, then tar&gz it. Then I would ftp in & download it. I said to wait & see if the backup you wrote would do it; but like you said, it wouldn't be easy to restore. Hmm... how would the one you would potentially write work? Would it just tar the whole db or would it read the .... wait, I'm getting myself more confused!! help! !!blue
  3. Ok, some very good suggestions! Thanks all! I do run Ad-aware and it catches mostly cookies and the like (I try to keep the machine clean). I also update the virus scanner about every two weeks or so and it hasn't caught anything in a while. I'll try to open the registry and see if I can pinpoint the file; if I don't see anything kooky then I'll remove the .exe from the file name-restart the machine-and if it doesn't crap out in a major way--then I'll delete it. thanks again, !!blue
  4. Get this error when I tried to download the PHP script from the instructions page today: Yikes! as a side question: I'm guessing this won't do a backup of my MT SQL database right? Do I need another script for that? later, !!blue
  5. I guess no one has an answer Oh well...
  6. Ok, whenever I start up my computer [Win 2000 Prof Ed] at home and log-in, after a bit I get an error window that says: or something to that effect. It's very annoying and I can't remember what I did before this started happening (and I'm finally getting around to doing something about it). I opened up the task manager while the error was still there and found out the process running is vbsystem35.exe. It's under my c:\Winnt\system32\ folder so I don't want to just delete it. What is it? Can I delete it? Can I un-install it? What gives??? Heeellppp! ! ! thanks, !!blue
  7. Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I have on a sweater that has multi-colored stripes (some of them being green) so I guess I'm covered!!
  8. I *knew* I had seen it somewhere before but didn't bookmark it! Anyhow, I used one div and two spans but it was basically the same idea as the code example! I'll go back and add in the {clear: both;} bit. thanks! !!blue
  9. Absolutely a *great* book! Why not go to the source to find out more: Zeldman: DWWS later, !!blue
  10. Yes, I enjoyed reading the info he shared--from basics to advanced topics--it was all great! later, !!blue
  11. I also see some new items at the very bottom of the CPanel home page: >------Pro----------- Submit a Support Request Image Manager BoxTrapper Leech Protect Can someone let me know what these do/are? thanks, !!blue
  12. thanks guys! I guess I'll have some "divitis" on my page (from Zeldman's book desiging with web standards where everything on a page is in its own DIV ). But, I think I can do it with one div and two span classes. *goes off to work it out* thanks again, !!blue
  13. Ok, so let's say you have a nice big DIV and you want one thing to be aligned on the left side and the other to be aligned on the right side both items being on the same line. How would you do that with CSS and not tables? In a table, you'd obviously do this: ><table> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top">this is aligned left</td> <td align="right" valign="top">this is aligned right</td> </tr> </table> So ... how would I do this in one DIV without doing like 5 divs or something Yuck! I remember seeing this somewhere's but can't remember where. This is useful, for example, when you have a header div with a logo on the left side and some text links on the right side aligned to the right. later, !!blue
  14. I don't think there's a way to "blur" vector art in flash other then how you just mentioned it. Unless you create it in Photoshop with no background, save as a PNG or a GIF (each support transparent backgrounds) and import to flash. Then animate the instance of the car. Don't animate the actual car on the stage, make it a Graphic object (Insert > Convert to Symbol > Graphic). That way the car is blurry because it's an image file. However, this might make the movie size larger cuz u'll be using images. So in the Library, double-click on the imported file of the car and *opens Flash to double check* you'll get a dialog box: under compression chose Photo/JPEG then un-check "Use imported JPEG data" and enter a value to your liking. The preview and see which value you like. The smaller the number the more file size you save. In that same dialog box, there is a button called Test, when you click on it, it'll show you the original file size of the image and the new "compressed" size. hope that helps, !!blue
  15. thanks!
  16. I downloaded the mt-rebuild.pl file [www.timaoutloud.org/code/mt/#mt-rebuild] and set up the cron tab. It's been giving me errors, but now I think I got it right. So, my question is can I set it up to email me when it runs correctly instead of only when it doesn't run? Sort of like this: "hi, mt-rebuild just ran and did this and did that. ok bye" any ideas? I'm guessing I'd have to edit the mt-rebuild.pl huh. thanks, !!blue
  17. I was getting a Bachelor's in Business Management and noticed how much I *loved* being online. I mean *loved.* So then I graduated and hated all the jobs I was getting/being offered. See, originally I wanted to be a photographer in the artistic sense and my dad was like "I'm not paying for you to graduate to no secure future" :-/ Finally I looked up a degree in anything web and found one school offering a Bachelor's in Multimedia and Web Design and here I am. (I wasn't going to get just an Associates cuz I already hadda Bachelor's; plus most of the classes transferred.) Long story short, I'm now a Web Designer with a secure job. Yeah, baby!! later, !!blue

  19. Same here, thanks for the laughs!! I just hadda huge smoothie and it's making me sleepy. Now I have my laughter to keep me UP
  20. I asked the same thing once too, and I was told "no." Horde is just set up that way. I think SquirrelMail does receive HTML tho. But I haven't tried it. anyone else have any ideas? later, !!blue
  21. I use Dreamweaver MX myself. Love the fact that I can split the window pane by viewing the code and the preview at the same time (tho the preview is not perfect). I usually lay out my page in Illustrator or Photoshop then slice, export and clean up in Dreamweaver. Or just do it all in Dreamweaver after sketching it on paper. But always figure out your content first! Content in King! First you figure out your content then the site's purpose then the design. later, !!blue
  22. I don't think chocolate makes you break out, isn't it greasy food? Like fries & stuff like that? I eat chocolate all the time & it doesn't make me break out. But when if I eat greasy subs more than two times a week, watch out! Mad!!! I would love a hot brownie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmmm....... :heart :heart :heart :heart Recently I've fallen in love with those Ferrero Roche chocolates. OMIGO! those are sooo gooooddddd. Chocolate and Hazelnut! :heart :heart :heart :heart Wait! I also love those Girl Scout cookies that have caramel and coconut! MMMmmmMMM
  23. Do you mean like if you click on "File Manager" (somewhere near the bottom in Cpanel), then click on a folder (the name not the icon) and then click on "Change permissions"? um... i think you can do it that way. I've never tried that or are you talking apples and i'm talking oranges? later, !!blue
