  1. As you may know the AUP prohibits pointing a domain to a portion of your site reguardless of how it is accomplished. So the script you speak of would still violate the AUP. Sorry, but thats the way the policy is.
  2. The / at the end of a link tells the browser to look for a folder and display the default file inside. so www.domain.ext/ will display the default page in the main public folder www.domain.ext/name/ is a subfolder www.domain.ext/name.ext is a file

  5. Sheryl, I would recommend using an FTP program to manage your files as file manager is not the easiest way. With an ftp program you will will have two windows side by side one showing a folder on your computer and the other showing a folder on your site. You can select and drag from computer to site, or from site to computer. Some will even let you view the file on your site. You can select a site folder or file and right click to rename, delete or change its attributes (read, write.....) called permissions. I use CoreFTP Lite and am very happy with it.

  12. Welcome to the Family and your new home! My config shows $dbms = 'mysql4'; If you look in the phpbb folder for a folder named db you should see the file mysql4.php and mysql.php the first is a little newer version. I would open a help ticket to be sure We really are like family here. So if you need anything, just ask your new family! We love to help
  13. If there is nothing in the upgrade drop down then your cpanel does not know about your existing guestbook. That was my case too as I installed my own the first time. You could just create a new one just to get one working now, and try to add the old enties later. How many entries were in the old one?
  14. Its best open a help ticket for another account, and tell them about the site you wish to move here. If it has cpaenl there is a good chance they can move it for you.

  16. As some who also has a poem on my k9 page (author unknown) I also tried to find the author, but it has been around for a very long time. I would say leave it as is with credit to unknown. I think it will look better that saying he did not write it.
  17. That is odd it should not have worked with just the user only the cpanel name works that way.
  18. Brian, we mods do not have access to the servers and cannot help with account problems. Please open a help ticket (link at top of page).
  19. No you can put a link in the email in the text mode. You can also use html mode and your email client will create a text version for those that have html turned off.
  20. New guestbook? Did you use the upgrade link in cpanel as Mike said? or install another guestbook? If you upgraded, your data should be there.
  21. Have you tried our fun and games forum for lots of ways to pass the time. There are links to online games and more ways to waste time and have fun
  22. Welcome to the Family Steve and your new home! As Bob said, many of your recipients will have html disabled or even reject html email I have reached that point myself. I now use poptray to view headers and delete most html e-mails. Spammers love to send html e-mails with a link to a 1x1 gif image in it that does not exist And when their error logs show a 404 for that image they can look up the image name to see who they sent it to and bingo an another address on their list and you only have to preview it for this to work. A better way might be to send a link to your news letter online with some higlights of the content. We really are like family here. So if you need anything, just ask your new family! We love to help
  23. Great new Chris
  24. You have to make sure that your site and any that are allowed to use the images are listed in the hotlink page in cpanel. I gave up using it as it was more trouble than it was worth. It does stop working now and then, and you have to disable and re enable it.
