  1. On PayPal, when you make a payment style page and want to include a customized header, it asks you for a URL to that image, but warns to use an HTTPS address. Can I do that as part of the $4/mo basic package and how? -Samantha
  2. Santolina, You said The gallery design format is not a pre-made template offered by Trellix or any version of CSB. I made several gallery layouts by playing with borders and tables and give instructions on the tutorial how to do it and the settings I found worked best for me. http://www.samisite.com/photo/id88.htm Several folks with Trellix and CSB3 have used the instructions to make their own gallery files. I do have a full CSB4 tlx file available for download (tables built, ready for images and links and instructions included), but at this time can not offer anything pre-made in Trellix or CSB3 format. -Samantha
  3. Wonderful photos! Thumbs Up And lovely implementation of the gallery style format! Added a link from my gallery tutorial to yours so others can see your examples too. http://www.samisite.com/photo/id88.htm -Samantha
  4. Take a look at this page about CSB and subdirectories: http://www.samisite.com/publish/id80.htm Scroll down to see a screen print image of my TCH subdirectory settings for the subdirectory: test-csb The host settings in the FTP site information remains the same as your main tlx file for the main site. Just the subdirectory info changes. You will note that public_html stays where it always has in the FTP directory, but the name of the subdirectory is in it's own field. Where I have typed test-csb, you will type members or whatever is your subdirectory name. -Samantha
  5. Only thing I really enjoyed about being a banker: The extra days off (all federal holidays). Where I work now we didn't get President's day off, but instead, at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years we got 4 day weekends! Much better trade in my opinion. -Samantha
  6. ROFL You made my day! Websites are addictive.... We all need a good local dealer. Glad I could be yours! LOL Seriously, I'm tickled you found some useful info while wandering the site. If there's anything you would like to see that I do not have, check KW's site (he has far more than I do! http://www.csbsupport.com/index.htm He's the one that got ME addicted! If it's not there, send me a note from the website and I'll see what I can do. And yes, my cats get the same way when I have stayed too long staring at my monitor! Likewise for Florida. If you ever find yourself visiting Disney area, let me know. Remember there is a forum specifically for CSB product at GlobalSCAPE's website: http://www.globalscape.com/board/default.asp?b=1 This forum is great for TCH related CSB issues, but if it's just plain CSB issue, often the other forum will get more response. -Samantha
  7. Congratulations! Thanks for the kind words. Nicely done. I added your site to my list of samples: http://www.samisite.com/csbsites.htm -Samantha
  8. Thanks! You and KW tought me well. I don't often wander the board here at TCH, except for the CSB area and a couple others so it's great to see you! I miss your input! -Samantha
  9. 2 ways to do it: 1) create an image map with image software with hot spots on the image. Place the image and code into an Insert > HTML. PREFERRED: 2) Modify the image with no linking text (title is fine) Place your image into the background as usual Make a table on the page Insert TRANSPARENT images into the table Right click on the image to link it to another page (selection or URL) I made a quick sample here for reference. I placed two tables on the page (one showing border, one invisible). Each has two linked transparent images. (attached one of them to this post too) Using tables allows you to place images, text, etc exactly where you want it on the page! On your web page, your large background image was CUT OFF on an 800x600 screen resolution. In my quick sample, I adjusted the image to 800 wide and centered the tables over top of the image. BUT, I strongly recommend you break down the project like a recipe. Don't make a casserole with all ingredients thrown together into one large image. Put in each ingredient separately, carefully, for best results! Consider a small plain brick wall background image, set to fully tile across and down. It will load faster. Then insert all your pieces into the page: title caption, text, images, etc. You will have no outer area that does not match the page, no matter what size resolution the visitor uses. Take a look at this second, BETTER example. The plain brick background spreads over the ENTIRE webpage. Images and text float over the background with the help of 2 invisible tables: one for the title and tag line, the other for the images. Best solution. Need help with transparent images? 10. WOW. Love it. Will have to add a link to it from the Quilt Guild. It will help in choosing tones for quilting and other craft projects in addition to the website area. Thanks for the link! -Samantha
  11. Thomas, Not having seen the code, I can not be specific, but usually it is necessary to modify the code to have border=0 in with the image something like this <img src="image.gif" border=0> I modified another code to remove the border around an image with the same technique on this page: http://www.samisite.com/test-csb2nf/id129.htm By the way, in your Tompas world in January, you refer to but they are really on the right... Sorry to hear about your friend.... -Samantha
  12. Thanks. That thread was what I needed. Thumbs Up Jim Sewell summed up what we think is happening. We had a good chuckle in the office knowing that someone is watching I AM A SPAMMER and switching to Lambert's site whenever someone comes into the room! With 76 visits this month, the person has been quite busy! woooot -Samantha
  13. While reviewing a concrete specialty manufacturer's website AwStats, under the external links section, I found that a totally non-related site has had 76 links to us this month. When I click the link it takes me to a page that has no links on it. [Link removed] Should I block or restrict this site? If so, how do I do it? Why would we have incoming links from such a site and more importantly, would they hurt any ranking we have for concrete/manufacturing? Thanks for any info here! -Samantha
  14. I read your post, but forgot to come back to say THANKS!! -Samantha
  15. Quite some time ago, I installed the basic HTML chat offered in cPanel on my website. But tonight I have the same problem I had once before. Instead of opening a chat page, I get page not found again. The last time it was down for a couple days, then just fixed itself. The gateway html code is on this page: http://www.samisite.com/contact.htm -Samantha
  16. I use CuteSiteBuilder not CuteFTP, so I don't have much to offer except, did you try to uninstall, reboot and reinstall the program? Maybe you have a corruption that needs to be corrected that way. Also, did you give the 3rd and 4th sites UNIQUE names? Make sure the names do not have characters (apostrophe, exclamation, etc. in the names as characters can interfer). -Samantha
  17. KW... Not trying to be smarty, but I thought that this particular part of the TCH board WAS designed for CSB support since it is named "Cute Site Builder & Cute FTP". There is a Frontpage area too. Did you notice that I got the allwebmenu working Cross-Frames? http://www.samisite.com/micheletestframescross/id2.htm -Samantha
  18. REVISED POSTING! I have worked with all web menus, Here's a sample of how it looks without frames: http://www.samisite.com/micheletest/id2.htm Here's a sample using frames, the top border remains static and the menu choices open below the border, which is what I think you would need to do on your site. http://www.samisite.com/micheletestframes/id2.htm The only difference is the assignment of the TARGET FRAME. Look at my frames sample for a screen shot of the frame setting. Here's a sample using frames, AND having the menu actually CROSS the frame and have part of it in your top border, part in your middle frame! http://www.samisite.com/micheletestframescross/id2.htm In addition to the TARGET FRAME, in this case I have checked the option for Cross Frame Support. Note: In this example, due to the image in the top border, there is a space between the menu in the top border and middle frame, otherwise the menus would be tight against each other! KW wrote the following steps on the CSB board to assist with ALL WEB MENU and they really make it simple: I personally use a name for my txt file that matches the site- For the examples above, I used micheleframe.txt and micheleplain.txt are my two files so when I have SEVERAL menus, I know which txt matches which set of js files! -Samantha
  19. Thomas, Check your email. I modified the dropdown script in question to open a new window and sent the script to you. You also had an extra batch of style settings which I trimmed out. NEW WINDOW: I placed a sample here: http://www.samisite.com/temp/id81.htm SAME WINDOW AT TOP (breaking the frame): ORIGINAL (Opening under the top border, within the frame): -Samantha

Have to give credit where it belongs...I read a recommendation from another CSB user, Cary Thomas for Viewlet Builder. He has a licensed copy and strongly suggested that we try it. But by the time I got around to downloading it for the free trial period, he had posted that he had found another demo building program (Wink) but had not tried it yet so could not recommend it. Well I can. I use pay and free programs and did not expect much from it, but was VERY pleasantly surprised by Wink. At this point, I do not need to pay for Viewlet Builder as I am satisfied with the results of this nice little software. Based on the communication with the builder, I expect even more options to be developed for Wink. -Samantha

After trying out this tutorial maker, I am impressed with the abilities. Easy to use and pleasant interface, this program allows you to capture a series of screen captures (or even moving keystrokes), place text callouts with instructions and produce compact lite flash (with moving cursor) or pdf files of your demonstration. The program is FREE with no adware/spyware, has a detailed manual, and a forum to discuss issues with other users and the maker of the program Satish Kumar. To view a tutorial I made with it: http://www.samisite.com/publish/ WINK webpage: http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ [Compare this program with Viewlet Builder Lite ($99)] -Samantha
  22. If your code being placed into the insert > HTML requires images, sounds, flash, etc to work, then you must place ^GEMDIR/ into the code to upload the required files into the HTMLobj- folder! Only exception: you are placing your required files into another folder directly using FTP upload. In that case, the code needs to have that folder name in front of the file names instead of ^GEMDIR/. Don't remove the pages from your website or your tlx file. Just delete the NEW webgems on those pages and republish. It should publish fine if that is what is causing the problem. Then try to insert the gems again. But check your code carefully. If you want me to look at the code you are trying to insert and try it, send it to my email. I'll let you know if I run into any problem with it. No. Once the gems are inserted and coded correctly, they will not interfere with future changes. -Samantha
  23. Thomas... Check out this page: http://www.samisite.com/publish/id79.htm I have duplicated a 501 error a couple ways. In both situations, I had a typo in my settings. 1) I had a / in front of the subdirectory name in publish settings. 2) Go to the last page you modified. Check your last insert > HTML code. A 501 error can be made when you insert your code with ^GEMDIR/image.jpg If you type it as ^gEMDIR/ or ^gemdir/ or ^gemdir// etc. CSB is unable to properly translate it into an HTMLobj- folder unless it is exactly ^GEMDIR/ with no space after the /. Also make sure you UNCHECK the option to publish to local HTML file -Samantha
  24. Rock Sign Thank you so much for the unbelieveable real-time progress that went on for the server 26 repair! The last web host I had wouldn't admit that there was a problem on a server, let alone take the time and effort to post alphabetical account updates. After checking my site, I found I had a few minor updates to be loaded to the site, so your backup was GREAT! Impressive communication and service!!!!!!!!!!!!! Head Guru, you and your staff deserve a wonderful pat on the back. Thumbs Up -Samantha (grateful client on server 26)
  25. To best help you, please answer these 2 questions: Where did you get the applet and what are you trying to do with it? Each applet is slightly different when you implement in CSB. You have to modify the code to work with CSB! I have two pages showing how to implement several applets on my website. Take a look at them and see if you can make your code follow the same pattern. CSB Tutorials for applets: Lake applets: http://www.samisite.com/photo/id33.htm Other applets (reflection, water, snow, etc): http://www.samisite.com/photo/id109.htm You placed the ^GEMDIR/ in the correct place, always in front of any image file. Place the modified code into insert > HTML. You must place the image file(s) and any other files used by the code (class files, js files, etc) into the webcomponent so when the code is loaded to the website, the files will go also. With CSB, note that the codebase information is also coded with ^GEMDIR/ because the class file will be found in the directory CSB creates. Here's part of one of the codes I have on those pages to demonstrate what I mean: <applet code="PoolMenu" codebase=^GEMDIR width=218 height=122> <param name="image" value="^GEMDIR/blaneh.jpg"> -Samantha
