  1. 96 degrees is HHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT Slimy and burning for someone fair of skin like me. Have to take many water breaks.... on my way back out again....almost done...furniture in, plants moved, just another hour to go or so.... Then I can just get cleaned up and WAIT. Might bake some outmeal raisin cookies so I have something to snack on when the power goes out... Pensacola could get some nasty rain and flooding out of it. Last check, they are talking a SLOW storm that will do a tremendous amount of water. -Samantha
  2. LOL ROFL>>>>> HAHAHAH..... been web building too long... I of course meant subdivisions! LOL Had to come in and get some cold water.... going back out to the yard. Why can't these hurricanes come when it's cool outside instead of 96 degrees!!! -Samantha
  3. Yup... My two cents for CSB. It has a simple interface (much like Word) but with the ability to add your own code, you can accomplish so much! Less expensive than Frontpage, and Dreamweaver, faster and lower learning curve. Best option for it's price and better option than many other cheaper programs. TRY IT FREE FOR 30 DAYS - FULLY FUNCTIONAL TRIAL. If you don't like it, then don't pay for it. It will stop working. TCH-Kevin and I have user to user help sites (thanks Thomas for the kind words!) and others assist on the user forum. Here are links to many resources that would help you with the program: http://www.samisite.com/webbuild.htm (including KW's templates from Richard and assistance from TCH-Don) I started learning HTML because of CSB/Trellix when I tried to insert special code into my web pages with assistance from KW's website. -Samantha
  4. I was in the Keys on vacation and had to come back early....took forever to get back yesterday. For one stretch, it took 3 hours, I repeat 3 hours to go 15 miles! Evacuations are necessary, but there just wasn't room to get us all out at the same time! I have spent the morning dragging debris left from CHARLEY to sides of neighbors houses hoping to limit the damage that could be done by flying branches and stuff. We have older folks in the area that just can't do it themselves. One stack near the street was just too large to move so we made temporary tarping to try to hold down as much as we could. As a neighborhood, I think we are as ready as we can be... This one has more potential to have damage because of the leftover debris and the fact that it will be slower with more rain, flooding and tornados... I am in an area that is higher than most, and shouldn't flood. Some of the subdirectories around here have been built in gully areas and former wetlands. My prayers go for those folks to stay dry! All three cats are relaxed and enjoying that I am home again. Spaz will disappear for hours. The others will be by my side during the worst. Thanks for the wonderful thoughts. And I pass on mine to the folks on the coast and to all those trying to evacuate and STUCK in traffic! Now back to my own yard....back to moving dropped/broken branches to the side of my own house... -Samantha
  5. Yes, we will be definitely leaving the keys early... if for no other reason than to get to our homes and prepare for the new threat. The worst thing about having another storm so quickly on the heels of Charley is that our streets are lined with debris that hasn't been picked up yet! Tree branches, and lots of other materials that could be thrown around by Frances. The winds will be bad, but now the winds can carry battering rams to beat our houses and fly through windows! This storm coming across Central Florida has the potential to be far worst for that reason. The people across the hall are here from Port Charlotte.... They lost their house in Charley and their business is still being repaired. A slideshow of Charley damage is available on my homepage: http://www.samisite.com if anyone wants to see what a hurricane can do to INTERNAL counties, let alone what it does to the coastal counties. Since we were out of batteries at my local Home Depot store when we left, I stopped by this one down here to get more.... Thinking of getting a generator to take it back with us.... Don't want to leave....had pizza delivered to the pool last night...watched a fantastic sunset.... It's so lovely here.... SIGH...... -Samantha
  6. I'm on vacation....In the Florida Keys. Our own local Tropical paradise. The management has notified us that we may be politely asked to leave before our stay is complete. And be escorted by the police if the category 4 hurricane Frances stays on the current track. The law down here says that all visitors must evacuate the Keys when a cat 3 storm is approaching. Apparently they had problems when Charley came through last month...people refusing to leave when told. The bad part: When we leave here and drive north, we will go right into it! Ah....the joys of living in the Sunshine State (remind me how we got that name again????!) -Samantha
  7. I used a different face template, and moved it and all features up a few points to create a neck (otherwise that face line sits on sholders). I ended up with your hair...had chosen a different one but kept debating, yours won out in the end. Within the limits of the program, I think we came out with decent images! I am packing for vacation so won't be able to do any more images for a while, but I'll check in to see what else others end up with. -Samantha
  8. I agree the program is harder for men's faces!!! The avitar that I made of Bruce was made in the avitar generator, then I tweaked it in PSP. I used the same hair choice as you did for HG.... debated between two and neither were correct.... Following the same rules, using only settings in the program, no other outside influence, here's the shot I came up with for HG.
  9. Tea (Can you tell I am thirsty?)
  10. Bunni, you did a great job! I used Paint Shop Pro on mine too. Bruce, you can grab the image here: -Samantha
  11. TCH Bruce, Looking at your image avitar, I came up with this one.... Don't know that you will approve of it... Started with the avitar creator, then had fun playing with photo program. (I made my background similar to your image so the cartoon is closer to your posted avitar). Here's a comparison shot.... your cartoon, your avitar, my cartoon.... -Samantha
  12. No.....don't get me wrong.....I liked your image! It just is unlined, unmarked, too perfect. These little images are like real people. I found that when you add slight lines or wrinkles, the face ends up having a bit more character....seasoning. Some of the settings are so slight that they just add texture to the image. -Samantha
  13. TCH Rob's shot turned out great with the edited smile. But TCH Bruce's still need's a tad of "seasoning". Bunni and Curtis glad to see you both jump in. Hey Thomas... When are you going to make one up too?? We want to see one of you. I think I will have to go back and choose the sillies, maybe build an alien or a giant pink bunny or other creature using the strange settings.... or at least see what I would look like with a PURPLE mohawk! -Samantha
  14. There is no salt/pepper, I had to modify my image manually to get the look. I hadn't taken the time to see the rest of the site but now my appetite is whetted! Ammended post: This is the closest shot of me at the office. The glasses end up looking like wrinkles...need to adjust them tonight when I get home... -Samantha
  15. Some of the settings would be a hoot to use in that case!! -Samantha
  16. Oh MY! You go girl!!! Tango anyone??? -Samantha
  17. ok.... my edited morning shot... just no good without my dr pepper/cherry coke.... I like your hair better!!!
  18. I didn't post the link.. just the first one brave enough to post an image. I agree the wrinkles are not necessary.... I did add a bit of makeup though. I LOVE THE MORNING SHOT!!!! ROFL woooot That's great. I gotta make one of those for myself!!! My gray patch in front does go in strange directions when I get up.... -Samantha
  19. Tap
  20. I made a couple others with really tired or surprised expressions.... Will have to adjust the hair, etc to suit, but I really like them!
  21. I took one of the avatars into my photo program and moved the hand over, changed the cat eyes, made purple earrings and corrected my eye color and hair color to be salt/pepper with my skunk patch in front. Neat site, fun to play with it. -Samantha
  22. blinds
  23. Thomas, You pick your background, your body parts (nose, eyes, hair) then click create and you get a specialized image of your own design. You can have it silly or serious depending on the choices you make. It's a lot of fun to build your own image from pieces! Then you save it and you can load it into a forum. I made a couple avitars.....my first one is loaded now. -Samantha
  24. I have a couple digitals of my own and use another for the office. At home I have an Aiptek pencam with no flash (green 2"tall, 1 inch wide, smaller than the giant packs of gum sticks!) that hangs around my neck on a lanyard. It is PERFECT for quilt shows, and places you can not use a flash, or need to be less obvious with a camera. Many shots on my site (quilting area) are closeups taken with it. Works wonderful for that purpose....and much easier to use than a bulky camera....point shoot. Uses 2 AAA batteries. I also have a Vivitar Vivicam. Uses 4 NiMH AA rechargeable batteries. It started out great, but after a year 1/2 with it, it does NOT accurately show color. It has warped somehow and every image that I take with it has to be run through adjustments to tweak tones. Am looking to replace it for a better model. I use a SONY at the office and though it is an old model (uses FLOPPY disks) the quality of the images is still good enough on it to be used in printed media for our office. I think based on my experience with the old Sony, I would consider a Sony for a personal model. Battery is $79. I use a Cannon AE-1 SLR film camera that is old, and still dependable and terrific. Does anyone know how thier digital cameras rate??? (For film cameras my favorite are Cannon and Nikon!) -Samantha
  25. I've used many versions of Irfanview and it only gets better. I really liked using Wink to create a few tutorials for CSB. Simple clean and easy program. And of course the price is right tooo. Looking forward to the next release. -Samantha
