  1. The line of code that seems to be causing the pop-up is: ><script language="javascript" src="/js/awstats_misc_tracker.js"> I copied the page to testingcode2.htm, removed that line and no longer received the popups.

  3. TC, Wordpress MU can be run without much trouble on a standard server, though with your bandwidth requirements you may wish to look into upgrading your account or moving to a dedicated. One caveat on Wordpress MU pops up when you use subdomains URLs. The configuration for the subdomains requires the use of wildcard DNS/Apache entries. While we do allow this on dedicated servers, we do not perform the custom configuration on shared servers. If you have any more specific questions regarding your account and wordpress, feel free to open a ticket with the help desk and we can work with you to find the best options.

  6. Greetings, I was able to login to cpanel on this server without any issues. You may wish to check your firewall settings (or ask your network admin if you're trying from a corporate location) to see if port 2082 is blocked. You can also try over the secure port at https://alondria.us:2083/. If you continue to have issues, please open a help desk ticket and we'll work with you on resolving this issue.

  9. Greetings TCH Family, As many have noticed, we had some downtime tonight that was unplanned. The cause of this downtime was a fiber ring that was cut during some construction. Normally, the routers at the provider's Central Office would route around such an issue. The line card which controls this re-routing appears to have failed. The provider's team worked as quickly as possible to replace and reconfigure for this. We are currently evaluating the addition of fiber links that are routed along a completely separate path. This would ensure that a cut such as this would not cause downtime, even in the event of a equipment failure with one or more providers and fiber links. We apologize for the downtime you have experienced, and thank you for your patience as we have worked through this issue.
  10. Whoops, my bad for not paying closer attention.
  11. Just for information - I updated Firefox last night and it disabled my Java plugin. I haven't had the chance to look for an update from Sun, but Firefox could not find an update automatically.

  17. I do not believe the beta is closed yet, as Bill has been tweaking the spam server to make sure everything is right. Correction: We are not accepting anyone else currently for beta testing as all the slots are filled. We will make an announcement once we have fully tested and abused the spam filter on the results and the possibility of a full roll out for our customers.

  19. >> Is a SPF record a good thing to have setup or is it not nessesary? SPF records are definitely a good thing to have. They help to prevent mail spoofing (ie mail that looks as though it came from your domain) and some mail servers check for it's existence. I've not actually seen mail rejected due to the absence of an SPF record, but they are helpful. >> Recursion is on because some servers are at different TCH controlled DC's, correct? That would be correct. We have left recursion on the DNS servers so that some of our servers in any of the datacenters can perform a lookup as needed. >> Just asking to learn a little about the backend of this webhosting stuff. Feel free to ask, we're all more than happy to answer.
  20. Thanks Thomas. Guess I'll have to upgrade my WP now... just been too lazy.
  21. Chip, The SPF record is certainly something we can setup for you. Open a ticket with the help desk and we will configure your DNS entry with an SPF record. For the Open DNS Error, this is something we have intentionally left open. While DNSStuff flags this a a big error, it is highly unlikely that any issues would arise from this. We currently use recursion from some of our servers and so have left this enabled. In the future, we may turn this off as all of our servers are migrated to the new Data Center.

  24. I'm not a big fan of MT, simply for the fact that the comments seem to get hit with spam quite a bit and the comment system then uses a ton of resources.
