Jeren Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Nice new design you have for the forums. I'm liking it. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 It's taking some getting used to but I like it so far. Quote
JTD Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Sorry but I personally like the other one better. And plus their are no TCH smileys at all on this forum. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 When we staff and mods were told about this change, we were told it was basically a whole new system so I guess it will take time to get used to both the layout and eventually new features, but we will get used to it. We did that with what we today call the "old look". And there are still some tweaks (including smileys) here and there to do, so hold on, it will probably only get better and better. Quote
Jeren Posted July 11, 2009 Author Posted July 11, 2009 I'm still getting used to the new look. Personally, I had trouble finding the link to view new posts since my last visit. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 It's the View New Content link at the top right of the page. But it works better if you mark the board as read when you've read them all once. That link is at the bottom of the page. Quote
stevesh Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I like the new look. It's a lot cleaner, and all the controls seem to be where I expect them to be. My only suggestion would be the same suggestion I wanted to make about the old version - eliminate the 'Happy Birthday' posts. They're just clutter. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 eliminate the 'Happy Birthday' posts. They're just clutter. Not going to happen. Quote
Bob Crabb Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I like the new look. Is the forum system still Invision Power Board? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I like the new look. Is the forum system still Invision Power Board? Yes, this is still Invision Power Board. Quote
sardaukar Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Have to admit - nice design, a better one. Also, TCH blog is very, very good one. I like it very much Keep up a good work, TCH Quote
carbonize Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 How the heck do you tell it to show old posts when viewing a forum? I'm getting fed up of seeing No topics were found. This is either because there are no topics in this forum, or the topics are older than the current age cut-off. with no obvious way of changing the age cut off. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Give me a forum to look at? I just checked the Open Discussions forum and I can see posts all the way back to 2003. Can you provide an example? Quote
carbonize Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Software Talk only shows me a single thread and that's only showing because I replied to it earlier following the last post link from forum index. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I see what you mean. There should be an option "Click here to show filter options" below all the threads, which you can tell to show the last posts for three months etc, is that the option you´re looking for? Quote
carbonize Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) Yes like the old forum had. OK I see it now but man that's small and hard to see unless you know it's there. Edited August 4, 2009 by carbonize Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Dick changed the settings to show all posts in all forums so it shouldn't be a problem now. Quote
carbonize Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Thanks for that. Alls good now. Have to agree with you though that this forum design is going to take a LOT of getting used to. Things like mark all as read are to small and out of the way and so hard to find. Quote
