Hi

The only reason why I came here was to get an Invision Power Board and have it hosted so I followed the instructions .here and everything went fine until I try to log in or even register again and all I get is a blank page.

Take a look and try and register and see what happens.

I just registered and left a test post also

Still the same for me, if I click on either the "log in" or "register" options all I get is a plain white screen.

If I put my name and password in the "quick log in" down the bottom I get

and a blank screen. Head Bash

Thanks to everyone for logging in a registering to verify that the site is working. The problem appears to be due to propagation of the domain. The link to the site used the ip address method of access since the site was just set up. Clicking on the link to log in or register used the domain name. Thus those of us who can see the site were able to log in and see everything while T-4-L could see the pages using the ip address but was getting a blank screen when it went to a page using the domain. It should clear up in a few hours.

Well this is the strangest thing ever.

Got out of bed this morning and booted up my computer and the forum was fine . . . . . for about 10 minutes then arghhhhhh.... same old blank pages every link I click on as well as trying to register or log in.

I am at this very moment sitting in my local library and it works brilliant, I've posted lots of stuff on the forum (under the name -D-) without any problems at all.

I'm begining to think that my forum is available to every computer on Earth except mine.

Please please someone help me out, I can't sit in my library 15 hours a day (that's how long I'm usually on the net).

Bad news, I just got back from the library and tried to go to my forum and there is nothing there, just a plain blank white screen.

This is driving me nuts! Head Bash

Hi,

Place post your tracert

You can do this from going to dos and typing tracert www.websitedomainname.com

Cheers

Jim

Hello Jim

I have done that and it says "unable to resolve target system name"

Posted

okay Jim, done that and got transfered to "Index of /~thefans"

http://server26.totalchoicehosting.com/~thefans/

Now then, while on this page if I click on "forum" I can see the forum (it's the only way I do get to see the forum) BUT, if I try to log in, register or click any of the links on the forum it just leads to a plain white screen.

It's more than likely your ISP hasnt updated their DNS records. The same thing happened to me. I have 2 ISP's my site loaded fine on one but not the other. I contacted the ISP that the site wouldnt load on, asked them about how often they updated DNS records and explained my problem. They of course gave me the run around, but wouldnt you know it, within a couple of hours everything worked fine.

My ISP took three full days to update, I saw the site at work, but not at home. It can drive you nuts. It's hard to wait for someting like this. But what can you do. I called my cable company and local people had no idea what I was talking about. I just had to wait Yuck!

Okay guys thanks for the feedback on this, it's appreciated.

I just got in touch with my ISP (Freeserve) and left them the following message, but they responded by saying it could take them up to 4 days to get back to me . . . arghhhhhhhh has anybody got a razor blade ? i'm gonna kill myself. :(

"Hello there, I would like to know how often do you update your DNS records. I am asking because 2 days ago I downloaded an Invision Power Board and hosted it with tolalchoicehosting.com and everyone can see the forum except me, all I get is a plain white screen. My forum is at (so I believe) http://thefansforum.co.uk/forum/index.php I appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you, Bye."
