My site is www.bordumb.com

we are using the forums you guys supply us.

I get this error now...

mySQL query error: SELECT COUNT(tid) as max FROM ibf_topics WHERE forum_id='7' and approved='1' and (last_post > 1051576071 or pinned=1)

mySQL error: Can't open file: 'ibf_topics.MYI'. (errno: 145)

mySQL error code: 1016

Date: Wednesday 28th of May 2003 07:27:51 PM

we had something similar before but it seemed to have corrected itself.

This error however has been like this for a few days now and we are unable to view any threads or enter forums.

Can anyone help?

if you go to your cpanel, and then scroll down on the bottom right to phpmyadmin

open phpmyadmin and select your forum databse in the drop down menu, once it loads scroll to the bottom and click select all, then choose repair table. that might fix it, might not...i'm no dbase expert, but thats where i would start

You might try to delete it and then recreate it totally, maybe it just ran into a problem durring the set up the first time. It's definatelly looking like a conection problem with the forum and the MySQL database.

am I able to save the information and whatever that has already been posted thus far? Save member lists so people dont have to re-register?

there must be another way. This cant just happen like this.

I think I have you fixed up. Thanks for sending in the Help Desk Ticket. It's easier to diagnose when I can see what's going on behind the scenes. At least I was able to get into the forums. I went through several topics and all worked well.

Basically it looks like the database thought a table ibf_topics was In Use and wouldn't allow access to prevent further corruption. Using phpMyAdmin I opened the database and checked the box of the ibf_topics table and then used the drop down menu to Repair this Table.

I will troll the Invision Forum when I get the chance and see if there are reports of this error. I did a Google search on the error message and found that it seems to be a common problem but saw no reasons why.

Let us know if it is working correctly.
