I know on Invisions website, they say that they will install it for free when you buy it.
-
Okay. I think I will start off with a one year license and then upgrade to a lifetime after that. How would I begin to upgrade it after I buy it? Should I have you guys do it?
-
Well that's no good. So I suppose my only option to upgrade would be to purchase it, correct?
-
Just checked, it only shows "upgrade to 1.2" but I already have that. "InvisionBoard 1.2 Setup" hmmm
-
I know I was able to update my Invision PowerBoard once before through Cpanel. Am I not able to do that anymore? right now I am running Invision Power Board(U) v1.2 © 2003 IPS, Inc. I know my cpanel shows PHPBB or some forum but I have really become accustomed to IPB and love all of the options. Is there any upgrade available?
-
Great find. Thanks a ton.
-
why would anyone need that? All they need to do is go to Start>Search
-
I already have that option selected. It gives the choice to log on anonymously or not. I want to get that off.

I am running Invision Power Board(U) v1.2 oh my website. A lot of members on the forum like to check that anonymous box while logging in. I don't want them to do that. I have seached high and low in the Administration center to turn this function off for all members aside from administrators. I can't figure it out. Is this not an option?

Hey everyone. Currently, I manage the website for the company I work for. I have had an exceptional experience with your hosting for my own personal site, and am hoping for some insight on pricing options or even if the options are available. On average, the companys monthly bandwidth usage is up to 400 GIGABYTES. On holidays mainly. With the growth rate of the company, I am personally speculating .75 terrabyte usage rate in the not so distant future. Storange is a very high number as well. We had considered hosting the site in house but it is not a financially sound option. It would be a much better idea to have the site hosted. Also for reliability issues. We don't run the business around it's web site so buying extra equiment to host the site alone would be a loss. Let me fill you in, we are a publishing company. We do supply and have custom artwork for the customer on hard copy as well as to download. Most files are quite large in size for quality of print reasons. High resolution custom artwork. Again, the company is not based on the website, we use it as a tool to maximize our productivity. Future options and outlooks for the website include online ordering, etc etc. Would totalchoice be able to host this company considering the bandwidth it uses and future growth expectations of the company? What kind of expectations are you looking for out of the business? This is a small business and it is growing at a tremendous rate with no signs of future failure. Would TCH have any options for a company like this? I am hoping to get some estimations and speculations to show upper management in comparison to what we have now for hosting which is very limited as far as administrator controls go, etc etc. I hope you have something to offer. I cant find an error now and I did what Dirk told me to do. I have done everything instructed for me to do. There is no error log this time so something must have been done right. I am just unable to see the site. Something is not right. We must figure this out. Thumbs Up

Well, I did everything as said above. Once I reached the success.php page, it was blank. I started a brand new folder and a brand new database and user. all three called 'nick'. I made sure to take my time and get everything exact. When you set the permissions to these... _Set permissions to 775 on the following directories: /nick/configfolder/logs /nick/backend /nick/images/articles /nick/images/userphotos Did you also then set the permissions to each individual file and folder inside of the folders as well? Also, for the lib-common.php file, you have a colon after /home/ Should that be there? I removed it when I changed my lib-common file. Do I need to delete a folder or file or something to continue? I did everything as explained above and still came up with a blank success page. Ther must be some reason why I am coming up with a blank page

thanks a lot for that info. I am going to try it this afternoon. I hope this works for me.

okay... i am gonna lose it.... so far i have all of the files from the public_html folder that was supplied in the tarball in the blog directory. I have set up another folder called configfolder in that directory and put the rest of the setup files in there. I changed the config/php and the lib-common.php files for this It is still not working.... There is SOMETHING I am missing here. Some small detail. Mike said he got it without a problem. He told me to do it this way and I fail. What am i doing wrong
-
Well, so far TCH MikeJ and I were doing a few things, but have yet to find a solution. Anyone care to chime in? I would really like to get this up and running asap
-
Yeah. I'm all set there Still a no-go This was also written to me by an admin on the geeklog forums. I have gone over the little stuff and can not seem to find an error(missing quotes or semicolons) I also am unable to change the permissions of the error log file in the /admin/install directory to 777... it will not allow me to. I think that was created after I attempted to install though. So I dont think it is important in the install process.

Hey everyone. I hope you can help, because the people at Geeklog are not helping much at this point. Let me preface by saying I downloaded GeekLog 1.3.9. it came in a tarball. I unzipped it and moved all of the files into my directory. I want to have my blog on my subdomain http://blog.bordumb.com So i uploaded all the files into the /blog/ folder. Including all of the files that were inside of the public_html folder so things could be a bit more secure and much easier to install. I got through everything for the most part except when finalizing installation, I cam upon the success.php page which is supposed to guide me to the next step of installation. This turned up blank. I was also unable to get on any other page as they were also blank. I looked in the error log and this turned up: [27-Sep-2004 11:22:28] PHP Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'blog@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/bordumb/public_html/blog/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 108 As of right now in my config file, these are my settings as I believe they SHOULD be set up. I had set up my database last night. The database being named 'blog' and the user for the database also names 'blog'. then of course my password. In my lib-common.php file which I was supposed to modify, i followed the directions as follws. Is that correct or incorrect? I am assuming it is one of these two php files that is holding me back. I hope someone can help me.

HAH! I got it to work! thanks for the help. Great program

okay I kind of just Hijacked my own thead here. I got the program up and running now. What steps do I need to take to get it on this website if you dont mind sharing? You said I need to put it into a flash file? Or link it somehow and open up a port? How do I go about doing all of this? I use dreamweaver XP and I have all the other programs as well. EDIT: Okay I just hit Generate HTML code for my site... this is what i got <applet codebase="http://24.160.229.116:8080/" code="b.class" archive="classes.jar" name="b" width="320" height="240" hspace="0" vspace="0" align="top" refresh="15" filename="cam_1.jpg"></applet>

hmmm how do I go about opening up this port?
-
I am downloading webcamXP right now... Is it possible to use this and have it on that web page I have set up?
-
I hope someone can help. It's really irking me that I cant do this. I would like to find an answer/solution. I have searched google high and low and many other tech forums. I think perhaps the port numbers are wrong? Maybe i'm going about all of this wrong. Perhaps there is an easier way
-
While i'm even asking, perhaps you know of a much easier way to go about doing this? while still having the same layout I have?

Here is the story as of now. I have set up a subdomain on my website for a live streaming webcam. I have downloaded Windows Media Encoder and I believe I have done everything correctly in the script on the page. Here it is as of now. http://nickcam.bordumb.com I guess I am a little confused and frustrated on why I am unable to connect to anything. I will post what I have as of now. Here is the script on the index page: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>www.bordumb.com</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000" link="#000033"><div align="center"> <p align="center"><a href="http://www.bordumb.com"><img src="../bordumblogo.jpg" width="800" height="82" border="0"></a> <p align="center"><img src="nickcam.jpg" width="288" height="36"> <p align="center"> <p align="center"><font color="#000066" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><em><strong>Coming Soon </strong></em></font> <p align="center"><br> <!--- BEGIN PLAYER ---> <!-- webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" startspan ----> <object ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="240" CLASSID="CLSID:22D6f312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." I cant seem to connect with Windows Media Encoder either. Is there anything you see wrong in this script at all? Perhaps I have som settings wrong in Media Encoder? Can anyone see what I am doing wrong?
