jasonl Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Hi all! I have had some help with my site and we will be launching soon. I would like a banner or button of some sort to place on my site to direct interested people to sign up with TCH, with your permission of course. Is there a link to get a hold of these sort of things? Thanks! Jason Quote
DWD Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Just thought the wonderful people of TCH should know that since you do not provide an 80 x 15 banner that some people have made their own inferior banners not worthy or representative of the fine product that is TCH: But, hey, if you don't care...that's fine...go ahead don't make a high quality 80 x 15 button that we can use. /tongue in cheek Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Is that some kind of reverse psychology? Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Maybe a little. Might have to see whose the smart ones around here to get it. Other me might not understand. Quote
DWD Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 OK, how about this: People like those little 80x15 button/badge thingies. TCH does not offer an official one. TCH family members make up their own...because we are so proud of TCH. What people make up looks like crap...(see above). When non-TCH family members see the crappy button, they naturally think TCH is a second rate host with no attention to detail (which is absolutely wrong). Sooooo...get with the program TCH and make an 80x15 banner for gosh sakes!!! Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Now that was just subtle enough. Other me might just understand. I am not good with graphics but others here might be. Wonder what the collective might be able to make? Quote
DWD Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 While I'm on my rant. Look at the banner page: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-links.html The suggested text link is this: Web Hosting withTotal Choice There is no space between "with" and "Total" but there is a space between "Total" and "Choice." What's up with that? Quote
Beltza Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 You don't need to be good with graphics to make these buttons, there are scripts that can do that for you. I made some buttons, and have put them on my site. Quote
DWD Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I was thinking more along the lines of something like this: ...just thrown together in PaintShop. Quote
DWD Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I like yours better. Now if the TCH artists could just gif up the yellow sphere with a little movement it would be perfect. Quote
bl4nk Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I made one, though I think I need to work on it just a bit more cause TCH doesn't really mean much if you don't know what it is. Quote
arvind Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 Just thought the wonderful people of TCH should know that since you do not provide an 80 x 15 banner that some people have made their own inferior banners not worthy or representative of the fine product that is TCH: But, hey, if you don't care...that's fine...go ahead don't make a high quality 80 x 15 button that we can use. /tongue in cheek Heh thanks for that. I took like 2 seconds making that image on Adam Kalsey's button maker a year or so ago. Quote
DWD Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 And a fine two seconds it was. Here's the one I'm going with until TCH provides us with their own: Which is GroovyFish's with an outline added. Quote
DWD Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 For what it's worth, I'm also using this one I made up because somehow I got started on using 128 x 22 banners for credits: Quote
mr_lucas Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 (edited) as allways i am surfing the web and i keep on seeing these lttle images of what they are running in the backround Like PHP Powered and w3c CSS So i decided to create this one for TCH Please tell me what you think or maybe you can come up with a better one that i can place on my site Edited March 5, 2005 by mr_lucas Quote
D.Slatk Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Yay! Thank you! I really like putting those kinds of buttons on my site (the 15x80 ones) and was looking for one here but could find it. Nice job. Though maybe you want to put it on give with 4/8 colors since it's so small and doesn't use many blending colors... Quote
youneverknow Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 (edited) Too Big.... 15X80 is just about standard for these Edited March 5, 2005 by youneverknow Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 There was a discussion on these types of buttons here Quote
mr_lucas Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I love the ones in the thread that TCH-Bruce pointed out to us so i will place my final idea here can somboy merge these threads so we cantinue this topic my image Quote
curtis Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 This is a good site to make 80x15 buttons http://www.lucazappa.com/brilliantMaker/buttonImage.php Quote
joseftu Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 You know, while we're on the subject, why is it that the text link is listed as "strongly preferred" on the TCH links page? I mean, it's OK with me if you guys have a preference, and I was glad to honor that preference...but I'm wondering why? What have you got against graphics? Do you have something against visual art? Are you some kind of philistines? Quote
joseftu Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 A text link is better for search engines. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah! That makes sense! Quote
BruZZi Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 (edited) I'm using the logo at the top (changed the colors a little bit. ) . Edited April 1, 2005 by BruZZi Quote
