  1. Hello, My hard drive makes all kinds of sounds at times and once I could only use one hard drive if it was a 45 degree angle. Your right though, making noises is normally a sound of it starting to go, but my noisey one in my otherwise silent Shuttle cube has been like it for the last 5 years, so you never know! Also, make sure all the screws holding it in are tight, if you have one loose and its spins at a certain noise, it will rattle a bit. (its hard to describe noises i know!) JimE
  2. Try TCH-Robs suggestions first. Also, have you tried this firewire hdd on another PC computer? If it works fine, we know its not the drive have problems talking to the PC. (Ok we know its ok because it talks to the Mac, be we need to know its ok talking to the PC) Also, I know for some of the maxtor 1 touch drives you need to install some software for them to be reconised, have you tried re-installing that? JimE
  3. Hello, Taken from the W3C website Here ><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" > <head> <title>Virtual Library</title> </head> <body> <p>Moved to <a href="http://vlib.org/">vlib.org</a>.</p> </body> </html> Remember, that sometimes validators are not perfect and do mess up on the odd occasion. Also intresting to note by googling further, I quote I then went on to find that but after many other searches, this should validate too! ><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" > <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> </head> JimE
  4. Hello Kahill, You have to be careful, if this person is recieving a lot of email, huge amounts of fowards could end up with blacklisting/spam recognition problems. Normally everyone I know can't wait to get rid of thier ISP email addresses JimE
  5. Welcome to the forums! If I remember, Limbo CMS is based on mambo or joomla as you say. Make sure the files are up to date and that you have CHMOD correctley all files that a normal mambo/joomla install says you should do. As Andy says above, block using your htaccess JimE
  6. Congratulations Rob! Don't be silly JimE
  7. Thomas, Have you checked the logs on the Computer? Also have you tried plugging this bits into another computer to rule out a power failure? JimE
  8. Hello, As timhodge says, such pokings are trying to find holes or unsecured areas. One thing is to make sure all folders have index.html to stop people browsing them. Are you using some form of a CMS or gallery script? JimE
  9. Thomas, Have you looked through your services to make sure one of the ones you need is not turned off by mistake? Also, check your XP logs too. See what it says and get back to us JimE
  10. Congrats Dave on the latest edition to your family! JimE
  11. Apologies Mae, I did not realise this website was to be for kids. As TCH-Jim says above, for kids, they are very cool, along with many other things you can do on a kids site. Give that link a try and if you do have problems, do get back to us. JimE
  12. Patience all, as we put this fantastic product onto each server, it is tested to make sure that nothing goes wrong when our customers uses it. Don't worry, we are progressing this as fast as possible! JimE
  13. I always remember the handy rhyme: Spring Foward, Fall Back Hence, in the spring, clocks go foward, in the autumn (Or fall depending on where you are!) they go back. I am for one just glad of the brighter evenings. Yesterday at 1930 it was still bright and light here in the UK. JimE
  14. Welcome to the forums, glad it all worked! As don says, don't be a stranger! JimE
  15. Early congratulations Dave JimE
  16. Hello, In XP have you looked through the error logs. Does it come up with anything? They can be found by selecting manage when right clicking on my computer and then event viewer, then system. JimE
  17. Welcome to the forums Don!. If we can be of any further help, then please do let us know. If your current hoster uses cpanel, its relatively simple to switch to us if you choose that path. Even if they don't, switching won't be a problem JimE
  18. Thanks Jim, its good to know that we are providing a good service! JimE
  19. Hello, As TCH-Don has shown above, watermarking is the way to do it. Right click is easily avoided. With regard to moving mouse trails, I would stay away from them, sometimes they can be more trouble then they are worth. However, its your website and you can do just about anything you want with it! JimE
  20. Hello, Lol, they have been tweaking alot recentley. You can download the core files here: http://www.mx-system.com/index.php?page=4&...tegory&cat_id=3 JimE
  21. Hello, I am guesing it would be rather hard, if not impossible to see if someone had added your link to thier database. Many link databases have their URLs changed, e.g. a link to www.totalchoicehosting.com might be displayed as Totalchoicehosting - The best hosting company in the world, but the URL for it might be thewebsiteurl.com/linkdb=idb1? which is not the correct URL. I hope your able to see the point I am making above. JimE
  22. Hello Yay, well done! JimE
  23. Welcome to the forums JohnO, glad its all worked out for you! JimE
  24. Welcome to the forums! JimE
  25. Way to go Thomas, now I just need to wait for the joomla gallery 2 plugin to be upgraded and away I go! JimE
