I have spent today trying to download a 429 mb rar file. After lots of waiting the file is downloaded, but not being placed in the specific folder I have told Firefox to place all downloaded files in. Instead it with the help from Winrar starts to open the file, which I at the moment did not want it to do. I have checked Firefox > Tools > Options > Downloads > File types, if there is something there that will make rar files to unpack automatically, but there isn´t. Also checked Winrars settings which seems to be ok. Does anyone know what I need to do to have a rar file downloaded but not unpacked until I tell it to be?

Hi Amanda, I had a look at other cute ftp posts with similar problems and it looks like most of them have had routing problems. If you want, please open a ticket to the helpdesk and ask them if they can connect to your account with ftp to eliminate any problems on the TCH end. Another option would be to try another ftp program to rule out any program problems. Theone I use is Core FTP.

Welcome to the forum, osoguy. You will find it inside your public_html directory. It will most likely be hidden in your ftp program so you may need to instruct the ftp to show hidden files. However, as far as I know, there´s also a chance that there may not be a htaccess file in the public_html, you will then need to create it. I dont know the answer to #2 so someone else will need to answer that. Hope this helps.
