Ticket to the help desk would be a good start. Link is at the top of the forum. After that, I'd make sure you aren't running any old, outdated, or vulnerable scripts on your site that someone could use.

Creating A Database In Cpanel...
stevevan replied to QueenTiye's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
As Bruce suggested, maybe something in the database structure can tip you off as to what they are. Going on the assumption that you are attempting a fresh install of SMF, and that you have nothing else on your site that uses MySQL, you would probably be better off deleting the prior attempts and the exsisting databases and starting from scratch. I would also suggest to read all the way through the instructions first, making sure you know what you need to do (I'm sure you already do anyhoo! ) before starting. I've used Fantasico to do a few installs (mainly CMS's) to play around with and evaluate and have not had any problems at all. Of course, I did have to upgrade a couple to get them to the most current and secure versions. Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you. -
IMHO, you won't find a better host than TCH. CPanel to CPanel is as easy as a ticket to the help desk. And if you start with the basic plan, upgrade is quick, simple, and painless! You'll love it here!

I've always liked the "An error has occurred." error box.

Open up a help desk ticket and have the techs check things out to make sure it's not server-related.

ride (ahh...the good old days!)

You might want to TEMPORARILY (key word here is "TEMPORARILY") turn register_globals on and see what that does. It might point you in the right direction. Just remember to re-secure your site once you're done "experimenting".

Try a larger hammer? Seriously, I'd get a monitor, as Bruce suggested to narrow down card or monitor. If it's the monitor, I'd take it back (hopefully it's still under some type of warranty).

yep...that's what I was using! Great picture...brings back a few memories! (Also grows a few more gray hairs! )

Changing Timezone On Shared Server/ Joomla Installation

Thomas hit the spot dead-on! -
I remember using a 1200 baud acoustic modem while stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines on the Arpanet. Got material for a college term paper from the University of England and the prof thought I had faked it! I had to bring him into my work and show him before he passed me!

Given the rash of website hacks, I'd rather have my site secured and deal with a few other relatively "minor" problems.

As Don said, the download will start, but most people have their browser ask where they want the file stored. Plus, I'm a bit on the paranoid side...if I clicked on a URL and something automatically started to download, I'd leave that site rather quickly and immediately start a scan of my computer. The other thing you might want to consider is bandwidth. If your link is rather popular (or maybe hot-linked), then your bandwidth would go through the roof rather quickly.

Just wait...they'll catch up with you! Seriously tho', I've noticed that this comes and goes in spurts.
